Well, for my home I make sure everyone is out of the house, then go room to room and clean, throw out unwanted stuff and put everything where it goes.

for everyday life stuff, I keep a scheduel book..kids concerts, school activities, events, appointments etc...and I also keep my bills in there too

    Good luck!

I'm not sure if you are talking about your surroundings or your daily life. If it is your daily life and scheduling things...get a planner...and USE it!!! Every day!!!

I happen to use the Franklincovey technique and it works for me. I note everything I need to do each day in my planner - whether work related or personal - and I prioritize it. I write down calls I need to make, I check my appointments, etc. Things get checked off as they are completed. Things that didn't get checked off get carried to the next day.

It is a really simple process, but somehow writing it down helps so that things don't fall through the cracks.

    Absolutely...

Take the time to set it up properly. You don't need the entire year's pages in your planner...only the past, current, and next month. (I use a planner with daily pages).

Keep the future month's tabs as they will have places to note future appointments/projects.

If you have a rapidly changing schedule...use small post it notes when you make appointments. That way, you can move them around as things change.

Take some time and write down every address/phone number in the address section. WRITE THEM IN PENCIL. This will allow updates and corrections.

I also keep my "calendar" on the computer through Outlook at work. However, there are lots of programs out there. Most have the option of printing the pages so that they are formatted to fit into your planner. So...in the beginning of each month...I have a neatly printed calendar of my entire month.

I have birthdays/anniversaries listed in one section. I even have a section for "gifts". When I get an idea about a gift for someone, I jot it down. When I purchase gifts, I note that as well. I'm forever forgetting that I have already bought someone a gift so this really helps.

I just started college last week and in one of my classes (strategies for success) we are required to use a planner. I have found that it really does make a difference to see everything written down and it is so much easier for me to keep track of everything.

Good for you for learning that so young. I do work in "corporate" America and most of us have our planners with us.

It does take a little while to get it set up...but once done...it takes very little time at all.

I actually have a page formatted in WORD where I can type my daily "to do" list. It then prints right out on my daily pages..all lined out nice and neat.

I AM SO DISORGANIZED IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY.

I'M THE TYPE THAT WEARS SANDALS, GET READY TO LEAVE THE HOUSE,
GOES OUTSIDE & REALIZES OK WHEN DID I TAKE OFF MY SANDALS ?
AND WHERE ARE THEY ?? WHEN I TAKE THE KIDS TO STORYTIME,
MY 4 YR DAUGHTER ASKS ME " MOMMY DO YOU HAVE ALL YOUR AVON STUFF ?YOUR PHONE ? MONEY ? KEYS ? WATCH ?"

    I'M SERIOUS !!
