How do you organize your kids clothes?
I have two boys now. A three year old and a 4 month old. And we have so many clothes and accesories it's crazy. Friends and family give us a lot of it. And, I have kept all of my older son's clothing for my younger son. Well, how do I organize in a way that I can get through all the clothes, because I don't want to miss them wearing something and then all the sudden it is too small. I can't put all of them in size catagories realy, because some things are sized small or large. I have storage totes, but that has just been a hassle and we don't have a lot of storage room. So, what do you do?

Hmmm. the clothes I have for my daughter are marked in boxes per age. 6-9 months, 12 months, 24 months etc. I look and guess-timate by her size. If she has a growth spurt then I pull the next size out and pick out the outfits that will fit her. It may not work for everyone but it does for me. She wears everything from a 3-6 month outfit to a 12 month old outfit. I go more by the outfit than by the tag.

I love work. I could stare at it all day.

What I have been doing is keeping the clothes that fit my daughter now in her drawers. When she outgrows them, they go into a stackable tote in her closet. The clothes that are too big for her hang in the closet with the smallest ones up front. I'm thinking about going through those totes, tho and getting rid of outfits that I can part with. Because they'll stay in that closet for at least another couple years and I don't want to run out of room.

I'm lucky enuf to have a niece that's 18mos younger than dd, so as soon as Emily grows outta something, it goes in a plastic bag that's on floor in her closet. Still trying to figure out what to do w/my boy's small clothes. In boxes now, someday I'll take em to Salvation Army or Goodwill.
