My vote is for the alcohol and drug abuse to. To much peer pressure to do these things at even the seemingly innocent party or get together.

I vote for "Lack of motivation" -- too much "gimme gimme" atitude and not enough self esteem. If they have a goal and BELIEVE they can earn it then they are better equipted to handle the peer pressure to do drugs, alcohol and sex. They are less likely to fall victim to depression and the need to strike out violently.

I personally think Alcohol and drug abuse and Depression are all together, i think this is the biggest problems facing teen's today...I have a good friend who's daughter a couple of years ago commited suicide, she was 15 yrs old and was hooked on drugs and was depressed.
