2 weeks ago it was 1.49 here in Cali Now its over 2.00 a gal. You know whats really sad, when the pipeline broke they only lost 1200 gallons of gas and I heard it has been fixed for days now But the damn prices still rise GRRRRR
It's called speculative pricing. The stations have the gas all ready paid for but they raise the price just because they think it will go up. The gas stations do it all the time. It's not right.

Driving in downtown Phoenix on 7th I saw it as high as 3.49 to 4.99 a gallon...Average I have seen between 2.00 and 2.50 a gallon, but that is IF you can find a station with gas, the two stations by me have been without gas since last Saturday, on of the two got gas yesterday finally, and the price is 2.19 a gallon. The other still does not even have gas yet. I paid 2.07 a gallon on Thursday. Three weeks ago, I paid 1.59 a gallon.

But they can get away with it because gas is something that we have to buy.

I don't knwo what gas is here because hubby always gets it, but last I looked it was about $1.39 or so, In north-western Kentucky. I don't think it is right how they do the gas, When 9-11 happened it was a mess!!! But what can they do they have to pay for the gas too (the station owners)? When we first moved to this area 5 years ago gas was $0.89!!!!!! So it has changed drasticly everywhere!
