Ladies...I need an opinion on (shhh) BC

OK, if you're brave enough to come in, I'm considering an IUD. I tried for one about a year ago, but they said "No Go" cause of yeast infections. I believed the infections were being caused by The Pill, so I went on the shot and now on the Patch. No more since I got off the pill. I'm just sick of dealing with this crap every month, week, day. I don't want to "get fixed" cause I don't do well with anesthesia.

    Any ideas, suggestions, whatever?? TYIA

well annie.....I am NOT an IUD fan.....tried and passed out before I got out of the Dr. office!!!! I would either stick w/the patch or get your tubes tied! It was the greatest thing that I ever did. JMHO!!!

I agree with Nonda! Having your tubes tied is great, no worries about pills, the patch and even better, not getting pregnant. JMTC though

Yeah, I know that one...Norplant. I know a couple of ladies who used it. they had bad experiences...miscarriages, pregnancy, having to have D&Cs....no thanks.

Hubby can get snipped, but it will cost $150. I can get the IUD or me nipped and snipped for free. My only prob is it takes me an extraordinarily long time to snap out of anesthesia and pain meds...like days. I was on Morphine for a car accident and the doctors said it would be 7-10 days til I was going again.....nope, I fooled them. Took me 2 1/2 weeks to come out from under.

I am sorry to hear that. I had my tubes tied right after I had my daughter (both of my kids were delivered c-section) so I just had the spinal block. I also did not have problems with the pain meds b/c I refused almost all of them except the ones they forced me to take (they were shots, yuck!!)Luckily I was numb enough I did not feel them, lol.
I am sorry I cannot offer you any more help, it is just that I know getting my tubes tied was the best option for me. It is awful that you have problems with anesthesia, my ex-mother-in-law had the same problem when she had her knee surgery and hysterectomy done, anesthesia really makes her sick. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Hi there, not too long ago I asked for some advice on the same subject. Here is the link to my thread if you wanna check it out. I am going to talk to my doctor about the Nuvaring, it sounds like it might be a very good method. And if you decide to do it you can get one month free trial if you go to the website.
