Thanks for the info! This is the first article I've seen that has addressed some of my questions, but I'm still confused about part of it.
Every other year hubby and I claim his daughter from his first marriage, and we just did for 2002. I'm assuming that means they'll be sending an extra 400 for her as well. I've been trying to figure out what to do if we do get it. From what the article says, the money technically belongs to his ex since she'll be claiming her next year. But won't WE have to deduct it from OUR taxes next year as money we received in advance regardless of whether we give it to her or not???? It seems like we would lose twice that way doesn't it?? Wouldn't get it now and have to deduct it then?? I'm soooo confused about that, so any insight anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated!
RIP Hayley May 25, 1993-Jan 30, 2008 We will love and miss you always

You did not qualify for the Advance Payment for one of the following reasons:
- It is limited by the tax on your 2002 tax return shown on Form 1040A, Line 36. It is also limited to 10% of your W-2 or Schedule SE earned income that is greater than $10,350.
- Or, we are not issuing you a check for the amount of your Advance Payment of the increase in the Child Tax Credit for 2003 because it was less than $10. It is not administratively practical to issue advance payment checks for small amounts. While you won't receive an Advance Payment, you may be able to take advantage of the increase in the amount of the Child Tax Credit when you file your 2003 tax return.
I didn't think we would get it anyway...oh well

I don't think we will get it, but if we do, I wonder if they forward the checks? or if you get the notice, you'll have an opportunity to update address info? we did our taxes online and moved since then. I could really use the money to change out the blinds in the house.

I checked ours and we are getting one. Will be sent July 25th
But we are only getting $311.00. And we had 3 kids on our
taxes that qualified.
