    Thumbs up Adopt---Meow

    http://www.parade.com/current/coverstory/index.html

More of us have learned the paece of a kitty purring on our laps and the fun of watching these narural athletes cavort like ballerinas.

You would think a nation of cat-lovers would take good care of our feline friends. Sadly, we don't. Millions are put to death each year.

They may have become America's favorite pet, but overpopulation has led to crowded animal shelters with too many cats and kittens in desperate need of loving homes. Won't you help?

For those who got this Parade on Sunday, you can read the article. I don't know why Parade doesn't make their columns printable but they don't.

Where are you getting them from? You will have lots of strays when you get on your farm. The article says people don't keep their cats in and let them run more than they do dogs. I know cats are harder to contain but it can be done.

My Sylvia is spayed. We don't let her outside (the great escape where I run after her falling all over the yard until she realizes she is in a great big yard and gets scared happens once in a great while...)

I wanted to adopt every kitty in that article!!!

My Scruffy is spayed and she is strictly indoors. Even though I live in a rural area there's just too much she could get into, or could get to her (there's fisher cats and fox). I bought a window perch for her and put a birdfeeder in her line of sight and she is content to watch her own brand of tv.
