Do you know what type of plan you have such as PPO or HMO?
i think it is ppo but i am not shure
If it is a PPO you are allowed to go to any doctor you want. You just have to pay a higher deductable.
We have a PPO & most of my doctors are on my plan but 2 aren't. I have to pay a higher co-pay to them.
we have a $25.00 co pay
Ok, just from my years of experience, don't use an HMO if you can ge away from them. They are highly restrictive and they get sued more than any other type of plan for withholding care. You have to go through a primary care giver to get any help at all.
If you use a PPO, you will need to use a doctor in the network, however you can use any doctor in the network and you are not limited to having to use a primary care physician.
For my money, I would choose a PPO over an HMO any day. And just keep in mind that BC/BS has more unwritten restrictions than any plan I know. Young doctors tend to be BC/BS members because even though they don't get paid as well, they are able to build a patient base this way.
