**Our First Fundraiser - Modest Needs: the Cookbook!**

Elaine, our Bulletin Board moderator, has spent nearly six months
compiling favorite family recipes from the persons who regularly
visit Modest Needs. Her goal: to create, publish, and sell a
cookbook in order to raise nearly $12,000 (or about a month's
worth of funding in one shot!) that we can use to reach people
whom we might not be able to assist for lack of funding.

Elaine has now collected all of the recipes she needs and this
project is ready to move forward. However, before it can, we need
for 300 people to pre-order the cookbook. This will make it
possible for Elaine to pay for the printing in advance and save
the cost of shipping the cookbooks, which will be substantial
otherwise. In order for this project to move forward, she needs
for people to place their pre-orders (at $10 each, tax-deductible,
including shipping) by 17 June 2003. Otherwise, this project
which has come so far will have to be abandoned.

helping a large number of people, and you'll even get my personal,
never-before-released recipe for 'third date lasagna.' Powerful
