When Michael got bit a few weeks ago, we had to go to the ER because it triggered an asthma attack. He was covered in bites - is hands, arms, face, neck, in his ears, in his hair, down his clothes, in his diaper ... And he didn't cry. He was fussing (like he didn't get his way) and came & climbed up in my lap. When his Daddy came back outside, he got down and climbed in his lap -- it wasn't until Daddy got bit, that he looked down and saw them all over the baby ! 
We stipped him down and covered him in fresh Aloe Vera (had to replace my moms plant), popped him some Benadryl and left for the ER.
Laissez les bon temps rouler!

THIS IS SO HORRIBLE. BUT YES ANTS ARE DEADLY. MOST PEOPLE INCLUDING MYSELF FOR MOST OF MY LIFE UNTIL I STARTED LEARNING ABOUT ANTS DID NOT KNOW THAT MULTIPLE ANT BITES ARE DEADLY. ANTS ARE POISONOUS AND IT ISN'T AN ALLERGIC REACTION THAT CAUSES IT AS SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE. THEY ARE LIKE MANY OTHER INSECTS, ANIMALS, ETC THAT HAVE VENOM IN THEIR BITE. ANTS WILL NOT HARM YOU IF BITTEN BY ONE BECAUSE THERE IS NOT ENOUGH VENOM IN ONE BITE IN RATIO TO THE HUMAN BODY TO KILL BUT WHEN MULTIPLE BITES OCCUR SICKNESS AND SOMETIMES DEATH OCCURS. REALLY SCARY STUFF. WE KEEP GETTING ANTS AROUND OUR HOUSE AND I AM BOUND TO KILL THEM IMMEDIATELY. OKAY DONE WITH MY FYI...

They showed a picture of the baby tonight. What a gorgeous little girl. I'm still heartbroken over this. I'm a mom and I can't imagine something like this happening to any child. Julie and Kyla, thank God your "babies" are okay.
