Thread: switching birth control pills

hi i have a question i switched from alesse to nordette birth control this month nordeete has a little higher dose of hormones but i was suppose to get my period this saturday and i didnt. i called planeed parent hood and they said some miss a period after switching pills did this happen to anyone should this happen ? also i took a fact plus pregancy test today to make sure it came out negative is it okay since i didnt take it first thing in the morning or is it inaccuarate i only drank one glass of icetea so i didnt have alot of water in my system. does anyone have a opinion of what i should think

I switched pills 2x since I have been on them for the past 8yrs or mabey longer. I had those problems as well when switching. Infact I still sometimes only get a cycle for 3days and then not again until next month, so you want to talk about scares..LOL..Sometimes with a switch you won't get it at all for that month but mabey just spotting due to the switch. You have done all that you need to check so just relax and see what comes up next month!

this stuff makes me crazy atleast i know you had the same thing happen to you.i was jsut afarid when i switched which i did this month that these new pills werent active or something b\c i take them the same time every day and never ever missed then when i talked to my boyfriend he was like you should have took the pregnacy test in the morning i took it 2 hrs after i got up and my urine was not extremely yellow but kinda yellow so i think it was accurate. thanks for making me feel better hopefully i get it next month. every since i have been on the pill my periods have been lighter though same like you said

the reason i had to switch was also due t insurance reasons they werent going to cover it anymore costing me more than 30 dollars more a month

I used to switch mine every 2-3 months because they all kept giving me high blood pressure but I never missed a period. I've heard it happens though... you might wanna take another test if you're not sure. (((zep0601)))
