Wink Update on Big Daddy the Crawfish!!

OK, it's been 6 days since hubby brought the crustacean home and he's still alive!! I fed him a little teeny bite of hamburger. I guess he ate it cause it was gone later that evening. I named him "Big Daddy" cause he is crawdaddy and it just seemed like a good ole suthern name!! OK, I also got it from Blanche off of that old lady show with Betty White.

But, he's still alive!! GAG!! DS cleaned out the fish bowl last night and now that thing thinks he's at the Hilton for fish!! Of all the weird pets to have!! We're gonna go the the thriftstore and look for an aquarium so he'll have more room and get some kind of fish food too. I went to one site and it said they can live up to 2 years and turn blue when they are adults. Oh, and they will eat little fish too. Look out Walmart...I'm going to buy goldfish!! LOL!!

When we were kids we had a creek running beside the house and always played in it. Crawfish were all through it. I had an Uncle who helped his son raise them. They had one get about 6 inches or more. They fed it raw hamburger and minnows. Minnows are free if you live near a body of water. I believe some of the Pet stores now sell feeder fish or snails. Good Luck!!

We buy our feeder goldfish at Walmart for our turtle. They are $.06 each so I buy them in bulk.
