We're doing swedish meatballs, italian beef or mostacholi, dips, veggie tray, possibly ham & turkey & cheese platter. Anything that goes with beer and booze! ;)
Beer and booze? If I leave now, I have plenty of time to make it! ;)
i make one almost like this but I mix a whole pack of taco seasoning with the cream cheese and sour cream and don't put any meat in it, its usually gone in less than 5 minutes around hereQuote:

This lasts about 5 minutes at a party at my house!!
This is a little work with the garlic step. I have used pre-minced garlic in a jar, and skipped the first step altogether.
Artichoke Spinach Dip
4 cloves garlic
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
1 (10 ounce) container Alfredo-style pasta sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place garlic in a small baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven 20 to 30 minutes, until soft. Remove from heat. When cool enough to touch, squeeze softened garlic from skins.
In an 8x8 inch baking dish, spread the roasted garlic, spinach, artichoke hearts, Alfredo-style pasta sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese and cream cheese.
Cover and bake in the preheated oven 30 minutes, or until cheeses are melted and bubbly. Serve warm.
Also great scooped out of baking dish and served in a bread bowl.
Sarah makes a decent spinach artichoke dip, but I doubt (with finals coming up) that she'll have time. Copied that down. And I do a 7 layer taco dip thingy, beans, salsa, ummm, cream cheese, whatever else I throw on it. I need fast stuff, because we will only have a little time to decorate and prepare! Chuckles is in charge of occupying Brian for the day, so Sat. we have to do everything before the party starts at 5. Some things I'll make Friday, the 2 Grammas are in charge of desserts and since it's all family and friends, we plan on delegating some dishes. ANY one that says, "What can I bring?" is going to get told! ;) Making either bourbon slush or sunburst slush as the beer alternative. Easy. It's byobeer too, too many people drink too many different kinds to buy 10 different kinds of beers. Somewhere has roasts on sale for $1.69, I'm going to pick up 2 or 3 and toss it in a crock for Italian beef. I think that and meatballs and a sandwich tray will cover the 'real' food. Just need nibbly stuff.
One more yummy one that is easy and tastes like eating a BLT
BACON TOMATO DIP
3 Roma tomatoes chopped
1 pound bacon cooked crisp and crumbled
3/4 cup miracle whip or mayo
1/3 cup sour cream
Mix ingredients just before serving. Serve with Fritos Scoops or Bagel chips
OK, where's de lime in de coconut recipe?
How many saw that scene in "Practical Magic" movie where they are dancing to that song? I thought it would be on the soundtrack but it isn't. You may have to consult a witch to get the recipe since they were all witches.
I saw your name, and saw the name of the thread, "what's the dip recipe that takes..." and I thought for sure, you were gonna say "the lime in de coconut" LOL
Oooh beer and booze, you need HOTWINGS! My favorite hotwing sauce is just plain Franks Redhot hotsauce. It's soooo good and you don't even need any butter or anything so they're not AS bad as most hotwings.
One thing that doesn't sound nearly as yummy as it tastes is putting a pack of those tiny smoked sausages in a crockpot and adding a bottle of barbecue sauce.
It turns out so good and everyone is always complimenting and asking how to make it! lol
