Anyone good with math and derivitives...
Ok, here is the problem:
h(x)=7/x^7-3/x^3+8sqrtx (the last part is an 8then the square root thing with the x in the sq rt thing)
I get so far and then get stuck. Can anyone help and provide it in a step by step manner? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for trying. thats not the correct answer though.
Here is what I have7/x^7-3/x^3+8sqrt of x (the problem)
then I get 7x^negative7-3x^negative3+8x^negative1/2
then 7(-7x^negative7-1)-3(-3x^negative3-1)+8x^negative1/2
then -49x^negative8+9x^negative4+8x^negative1/2
this is where I get stuck
I talked to someone else and they got:
-49x^negative8+9x^4+something lese that I did not hear her say+4x^negative1/2
So it is somewhere along the lines of one of these two answers but I am not sure how to finish it or am not sure if maybe I have finished it. I am supposed to find the derivitive of the function?
Corkster does this make any sense to you or anyone else?

Well, I asked my son who is extremely good at math and he said you didn't state what you wanted from the problem. Did you want it simplified or solved? Then when he looked at what you had done below, he said he didn't know what on earth you were doing with all the added negatives to the problem because that's not the way he would do it. Then he left. Oh well. I hope you got it done.

This is the way we were taught to do it. A college level calculus class. I did find the answer and I was looking for the derivitive as I stated early on. Here is the answer:
-49x^-8+9x^-4+4x^-1/2
Thanks everyone for trying to help!

I can't help you--I'm a math dingdong (and still have 1 more math class to take) Just wanted to give you my deepest sympathy, lol.
