Even pets are affected by upcoming "War"
This is so sad. This is an article in today's paper in San Diego...
Pets Left Behind by Deployed Marines Need Homes
SAN DIEGO — The Los Angeles Times reported today that Marines at Camp Pendleton are being forced to leave their pets behind as they head to the Middle East and other hot spots around the world.
The animal shelter at the San Diego County military base is near capacity with cats and dogs left behind by Marines.
The shelter has been dealing with the fallout. Last week, the shelter's staff was cut in half when two Marines who volunteer at the facility were shipped out. And the base announced this week it will be closing the shelter in the next few months to save money.
The situation is so dire that workers are running ads in local newspapers and tacking up fliers at animal care centers in nearby cities.
One woman, who came to the shelter last week looking for a cat, felt heartbroken for the pets left behind. She said, "This just shows that war affects the animals too."

Never argue with an idiot. It will bring you down to his level and he’ll win because of experience.
