Question Turkey Day ? -opinions please.****o many choices

what should we do??? go to both houses and just be late to his....go to one this year and the other next....skip both and go to mexico....

ok...here's the situation...i've got tooo many places to be and don't know what to do...

as y'all know i got married in Sept...so I have the in-law prob. with holidays....Christmas isn't a prob cause we can do both families (everyone lives within 30 mins of us...)

    the prob is Turkey Day...
my family eats at 12-noon...EVERY year...
his family (has always..every year in the past 5 years) eaten at 2pm...

well i already had to ask my folks to do turkey day again (i've had it at my apt for the last 2 years) cause i have boxes everywhere and no place to sit/eat.....
well this morning...we got a letter from his g-ma saying lunch was at 1 (yes 1..first time in 5 years) and we had to bring either 2 pumpkin or pecan pies....

well first off...i don't do pies..never had luck with them...hate em...lol....but that's beside the point...
the prob. is...what should we do??

DH isn't very helpful...it's "Up to me"....i'm seriously thinking about just getting up thurs morning and driving down to mexico...spend the night in brownsville (or poss. corpus) and then going into mexico friday am.....
we never got a honeymoon cause we both had to work...and we both have a 4day wkend over turkey day....

soooooo....what do y'all think....my family? his family? both? mexico????

we are gonna try (next year..as we will be unpacked) havin' both families at our house and just getting everyone to bring something...

I say go to Mexico enjoy each other for your first Thanksgiving together. The families will just have to get over it. You have your own family now so go do what you want. Hope this helps.

Go to Mexico. Being out of town is always a good excuse.

Start a tradition of your own to have a little mini-vacaton for the holiday.

If you do stay and if you have a Sams Club go there for your pies. Just as good as home-made.

Go to Mexico. They will see you at Christmas and this way no one is more special than anyone else.

You can always buy two pies and drop them off the day before.
