Please help! Black Sharpie Marker... Rental House...
Need I say more???? What gets black marker off???? I can't get it off the wall, the fridge, or the side of the stove. I used Orange Glow and got it off the top of the stove, and off of the floor. The side of the stove and the fridge are a bumpy surface and I just can't seem to scrub hard enough.
I work until 2 or 3am so I sleep a bit late in the morning... and my 3 year old recently learned how to climb over her safety gate and get out of her room. Usually she comes right into my room to wake me up, but not today! Hubby is gonna have a FIT!!!!
I shot an arrow toward the sky,
It hit a white cloud floating by.
The cloud fell dying to the shore,
I don't shoot arrows anymore.
Pile up enough "tomorrows", and all you have is a bunch of empty yesterdays.

found this..
Scrub, Scrub, with some elbow grease!!!
The ethanol removed the mark instantly as did the acetone.
The isopropyl alcohol removed the mark but only after some elbow grease.
Your best bet then is some ethanol or nail polish remover. The isopropyl
you get in the store (rubbing alcohol) isn't 100% (I think) so it may
take even more scrubbing. Try to stay away from the gasoline. Paint
thinner may do the trick too.

found this also..
Sharpie ink dissolves in alcohol (methanol
will do too).
So you may use your Sharpie with abandon, secure in the
knowledge that with
a little squirt of booze and a wipe of underwear, you can make it look
beautiful again ;-).
Actually, I don't know if 40% alcohol will remove sharpie ink, but 95%
ethanol will definitely do it.
Got any potent booze?!

funny u should mention this...i just had this lovely chore when it got on my counter transfered from a bag...ugh...
if you have or can get some of that orange paste cleaner..(it's in a tub...you are supposed to put a lil bit of warm water in...rub your sponge on it..and clean)...don't follow the directions...it will take forever and ten years to get it off....do this instead
dip you finger into the tub...and smear the paste on the marker...no water added....u need it at 100% power.....let it sit for about 30+ mins...then go get your sponge (scrubber side) wet with warm water and scrub...it should come off......i tried everything...
i spent over $70 on cleaning junk to try to get it off so i didn't have to pay $100 for the apt. complex to "repair" that part of the counter...yes..i asked... the sad part is they just spray paint the stupid things anyway...
good luck

Ok. The rubbing alchohol I have at first SMEARED it (I thought I was REALLY in trouble then!) but with a lot of scrubbing I got it off the fridge and the oven. I am scared to use it on the wall though, because of the way it smeared.
Thank you so much chort, I would not have thought to use the alcohol. Unfortunately I have nothing "stronger" in the house. (LOL If I did, I think I would have been hitting it right about now!!! )
Anyone else have suggestions in getting it off the wall? I have 7 months left on this lease, lol, maybe if I scrub everyday it will eventually come off.

HHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm, you aren't my mother, are you??? She doesn't have a puter.
My son made his mark on a closet door that I couldn't take off. We decided to leave it. His trade mark. Since the house belongs to my mother, she has no objections. But, I have heard that baby wipes work wonders. Go figure.

on the wall.. You could try some hairspray, although I don't know if that will work or not. Also, if it does take of the paint, you could buy a little thing of paint and repaint.. I'm assuming walls are white or ivory or tan??? It doesn't seem like it would be hard to match then.

Shoot i had to use bleach once on a wall of course it removed some of the paint as well Whatever you use on a painted wall, go easy and slowly. hmmm what about liquid paper if all else fails lol.
