We have a BABY!!!!!
I just got off the phone with Ravenlost!
IT'S A BOY!!!
8 pounds, 12 ounces
20 1/2" long
born 12:10pm
Paula's pretty emotional. Said the baby is healthy, perfect, beautiful, looks JUST like Jesse did when he was born. She got to Texas 20 minutes ago (around 5pm central time) so she missed everything, Jena only had 5 hours of labor. But she's seen Jena and the baby. Jena's parents are with her and Paula is with Nicole right now (her dot) and she's going to get Don (her husband) and head back up to the hospital.

I know. I had tears streaming down my cheeks when I was talking to her, and she kept choking up, I could tell she was crying. So bittersweet.
But I told her, things happen for reasons we don't always understand. And I told her, maybe the reason for this is because if Jena kept the baby, her *sswipe of a father would be such a strong (and negative) influence on the child. And I told her that no child deserved that.
Either way, a healthy, beautiful little boy. And I told Nicole to go up to the hospital room and b*tch slap Jena's dad for me! She laughed, but I meant it...

I'm glad the baby and Jenna are fine but I think I'm going to cry.

Pouty Princess
I was just wondering about Paula, she is my weightloss buddy and I hadn't heard from her today...
this is very bittersweet. I don't know *what* I would have done if my sister chose adoption for my nephew. He is the most important thing in my life. I honestly feel the reason I don't have any children of my own is bc I am afraid that if I can love him as much as I do, how much would I love my own? It's overwhelming.

How could a father force his daughter to give up his own grandchild? It's hard to believe sonmeone could be so cold-hearted. I think I need a hug.

Paula left MS for Texas a little after 7am this morning, just got there about 5pm.
I think we all need a hug. It's such a painful thing to watch a friend go through.
And wiccy, you're right. And that is the point I tried to make, WHO would want that man's influence in the baby's life?
And I know this isn't the perfect solution. Perfect would be Jesse & Jena raising their baby.
But maybe it's the best solution. Jena's father could have 'persuaded' her to have an abortion. Then there would have been no baby at all. This baby is going to be adopted by a wonderful couple, who cannot have children of their own and who have so much love that they can share their lives and love with another person's child. And raise it and love it as their own. The baby is still going to have a very good life with loving parents.
