    I've d/l a movie, can I burn it to a cd?

And can I use my regular cdr's or do I need a special type of cd to burn video onto? And do I have to 'do anything' to the file before I burn it?

HELP! I just did figure out audio!

I can't tell you much besides what "we" (ie my fiance, not me lol) do. He uses regular cdrs, sometimes cdrws. They won't play in all dvd players, but we have one they'll play in. If they don't play for some reason, he'll hook his laptop up to the tv and play it from there.

Not much help, but I can ask him if you want, lol.

    Good luck.

You need to burn it as a VCD or a Video CD - NERO can do this for you. Most movies will take up 2 CDs and almost ALL DVD players will be able to read VCDs. I have a special portable VCD/CD/MP3/JPG player that I take everywhere

Not even close to almost all dvd players will play vcds... despite what the box says... the very first DVD player we bought was purchased because it was the only one in the store that said it would play vcds at the time and of course... it did not. APEX is the *only* DVD player that will at a consistant rate play vcds. At any rate... it depends on how you d/led it... if it's in a rar format you have to unpack it and burn it from there... but really, my hubby is the expert on this (the burning part)... all I can really say is if it's not a dvd rip, it's not really worth your time to d/l it... just give it a while and the dvd rip will be out eventually... and we've been d/ling like crazy since we got our apex... the dvd rips are the *exact* quality as the actual dvd and so much more worth your time.

He rents a DVD for $2.50, watches it to decide if it's worth the time to burn it and if it is he rips it, converts it and burns it.
Um... OK... I guess I'm confused at what you're gettin at... but ok.

    Question

    ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????

Could ya'll (learnt that ya'll from Gia!) speak English?

So, what I gather, is I can burn it, it may not play, I need software, i.e., Nero and a ripper (whatever that is) but I can use regular cdr's to burn on and maybe I'll just go rent the farking movies 5 days for $5!

OOOH. Can you also just slip a movie in your dvd player and burn it that way? Like if I borrowed a movie of my sister's or something? But I need a ripper, right?

    GAH!

You do not need a ripper for what you have d/led... it's already been ripped... the only reason you would need a ripper is if you were creating the vcd yourself from the actual dvd. What I meant is to wait for the movie you intend to d/l to come out as a 'dvd rip' meaning they stole a copy of the very first dvd that is released to video stores and made a copy of it for d/l before it's release date. Confused you enough? Well my hubby will be home in about 2 hours and I'll get him to send you to a webpage that gives complete directions or sit and type it out himself.
