((mind i agree totaly with this..100%!!))

In the wake of 911, which galvanized our government into a flurry of new restrictions on our liberties, we've seen Old Glory waving from car antennas and proudly displayed in store windows, plus Proud To Be American signs everywhere. And all this fooferah, unfortunately, almost got me to thinking.

How proud am I to be an American?

Well, in WWII I volunteered to fight the war in a submarine, the most dangerous of all the services. I did my bit, as you can read in my book on my submarine experiences. And, having visited 142 countries so far, I can assure you that America is definitely the best place to live.

We have a lot to be proud of.

I'm proud to be able to live on a piece of land that my state rents to me, but will not allow me to own.

I'm proud of my government and it's myriad of departments and bureaus, few (if any) of which are devoted to making life easier for me.

I'm proud of the FDA, which enforces the pharmaceutical industry's ability to make absolutely fantastic profits at our expense.

I'm proud of our pharmaceutical industry for providing such cushy jobs for ex-FDA officials.

I'm proud that my government allows me to travel to Canada where I can buy the same drugs at a fraction of American prices.

I'm proud of our Department of Defense, which has so successfully defended us against attacks by Panama, Haiti, Somalia, Grenada and some group or groups in what was Yugoslavia. And the great job they did to help keep our oil prices down with the Gulf War.

I'm also proud of them for keeping our military-industrial complex busy filling government warehouses with unneeded supplies.

I'm proud of whatever government agencies have been successful in protecting us from worrying about UFOs and ETs.

I'm proud of HUD's enviable record of aiding businesses to fleece them out of billions.

I'm especially proud of the Department of Education's record in keeping American children at the very bottom in all international tests. And our Health Department's record of providing Americans with the most expensive and least effective health care system in the developed world.

I'm proud of IRS agents being able to successfully claim that they can convict and imprison anyone they choose.

I'm proud of the federal income withholding tax which takes our money before we ever see it, thus allowing the tax to go from its initial 2% to around 50% today.

I'm proud of the War on Drugs, which has generated incredible fortunes for drug lords and substantially helped increase American drug use.

I'm proud of the American food supply, which is so unhealthy that it's lopping off an estimated third of our potential lives.

I'm proud of our water supply system, laced with fluorides to help keep us docile.

I'm proud of our world supremacy in sports, which keeps most Americans entertained and thus unlikely to cause trouble by educating themselves.

I'm proud of our prison system, which we call “correctional,” but is anything but. I'm proud that we have more prisoners per capita than any other country, with we, the public, paying about $30,000 per year per inmate to support their keep.

I'm proud of whatever government agency is spraying us with chem trails—no doubt for our own good.

I'm proud of our Social Security system, which has supplied Congress with several trillion dollars to spend on pork projects.

I'm proud that Congress has avoided emulating the Chilean social security system which would probvide our elderly with five to ten to times as large social security checks.

I'm proud of our welfare system which has, at public expense, helped keep millions of proud Americans from having to work for a living.

I'm proud of our rent controls which have destroyed large sectors of our cities.

I'm proud of our mandatory vaccinations which have created a growing throng of autistic children.

I'm especially proud of our forcing parents to give their children prozac, zoloft, valium, paxil, ritalin, luvox, effexor, and other drugs, all with histories of causing mania.

I'm particularly proud of our medical schools, which teach virtually nothing about disease prevention.

I'm proud of our tobacco company officials who have the guts to swear to a congressional committee what their product is not addictive and causes no illnesses.

I'm proud of NASA for being able to so successfully pull off the Moon landing hoax thirty years ago.

I'm also proud of NASA for being able to get Congress to spend billions on our space station, which has no practical value.

I'm proud of the Department Of Energy for protecting our oil and coal company profits by making sure that cold fusion research would be thwarted at every turn.

I'm proud of our FBI's long history of being independent and refusing to share information with police departments and other services.

I'm proud of our SWAT teams.

I'm proud of the Oklahoma City bomb cover-up of the second, third and fourth bombs that were reported on the local TV stations.

I'm proud of FDR's ability to force the Japanese to attack us at Pearl Harbor and cover it up for 60 years.

I'm also proud of FDR's getting Amelia Earhart to go on a spy mission for the Navy and then completely abandoning her when she fell into Japanese hands.

I'm proud that our children are forced to go to school by law and our government's long history of making home-schooling so difficult.

    I'm proud of American lawyers.

I'm proud of our judges, who have taken on the responsibility to decree laws which our legislatures have neglected to enact.

I'm real proud of our Supremes and their continual gutting of the Constitution.

I'm proud of our having the best Congress money can buy—and the thousands of lobbyists who are so valiantly supporting them.

I'm so proud of President Clinton I could burst.

I'm proud of our monopoly post office, which provides slow, expensive service and which would be quickly be put out of business if it ever lost its government monopoly.

I'm proud that our country no longer issues its own currency, but has given that power to a small group of banks which are owned by the same people who own our major newspapers and TV networks.

I'm proud of our major media, whose main purpose is to entertain us, not educate.

I'm proud of our State Department, which continues to function despite endless exposés of its incompetence.

I'm proud of our farm conglomerates which provide us with mineral-depleted, pesticide-sprayed mostly tasteless food.

I'm proud of our food giants for being able to supply us with packaged food which has been laced with poisons “to retard spoilage.”

I'm proud of the government support of our sugar industry for contributing so generously to the profits of our so-called health care industry through dental decay, diabetes, cancer, and the many other sugar-related illnesses.

I'm proud of our dentists for continuing to use amalgam fillings, which are half mercury, despite the epidemic of multiple sclerosis this is causing.

I'm proud of our milk industry and it's contribution to our general poor health.

I'm proud of our military's ability to bomb a Sudanese pharmaceutical factory to smithereens in response to bin Laden's bombing of our embassies in other countries.

I'm proud of our media for being able to totally ignore even the most remarkable of crop patterns laid down in over 100 countries.

I'm proud of our American colleges and universities for being able to continue to keep millions of youngsters out of the job market and busy memorizing quickly forgotten trivia of no long-term value for exams.

I'm proud of our political parties and their amazing ability to come up with really poor presidential choices, decade after decade.

I'm so proud I could burst. Where's that flag for me to wave?

not that this is bad acountry..quite the opposite...but lets not forget lessons our ancesters have learned....

    PEACE!
    Az

ok..gonna try this again...(didn't post for me a sec. ago...)

there's been this big ole controversy for years about us not actualy making it to the moon...gfor instance the "waving flag" how can ya have a waving flag in a place with no atmosphere...no wind? and others say that it was held with "wires" and what not to make it "stand @ attention"...still doesn't explain the "wind ripples" in the cloth.....and it goes on and on and on..

ok..i beleive in 99% of what he had to say via this statement.
i will choose to beleive we have been to the moon until someone can prove to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that we HAV"T been

i also mispoke when i said i found it @ art's web site..i found it via a LINK on art's web site..this gentlemen was last nights guest..and ..damned if i don't like the guy!! he is very down to earth and well, lives by "common sense" i liked him!!

    Thumbs down GRIPE, GRIPE, GRIPE....

This guy is nothing but a paranoid, conspiracy theorist bozo! Though some of his "gripes" are legit, he's just a typical America basher with nothing but a negative view on life in general. Please, don't give this huckster an ounce of credibility or respect.

    Oh Boy!

While I do believe a lot of what he said, for this alone I think he is great:

"I'm so proud of President Clinton I could burst."

Clinton is man who can make me throw up just by hearing his name!

    Thumbs up Think!!

For the most part, he's on the money. I have a friend who buys his meds in Mexico, because the same drug sells at 95% less and he can't afford it with no insurance. Goverment waste, poor health care, Taxation, Goverment coverups, inadequate education systems, power structuring economics are, or should be concerns of us all. Conspiracist, he's not. A teacher, maybe. He made me think.

I have been listening to Art Bell and visiting his website for several years. I have researched many of the claims on his shows and have found a LOT of them to be true. He really does make people think. Thanks for the post.
