I got sunflower seeds! It is really helping. It satisfies the hand-to-mouth addiction, and how many calories can you possible get out of a seed? LOL I havent made it all the way thru the Habitrol site yet, so I dont have stats. Well, I'm off to the shrink! Have to have my pre-surgery evaluation, which was supposed to be yesterday. Long story LOL GL everyone.
Some mornings it's not worth the effort of chewing through the restraints.

    GOOD Morning!!

How are all my wonderful fine EX smoking friends doing today? Still working hard I can feel it! I know some of you have a quit date of June 1rst but thats ok, I know its not time yet for you...BUT it is time for you to work on the "mind set" to get yourself ready, prepared...because as you may or may not know, the smoking addiction is just as much psycological as well as physical. Its VERY important that you understand this. It will make you understand YOUR journey better and perhaps make it a tad easier. Speaking of easier, it may be easier on some here to quit more than others, but here again, thats ok! REALLY....it is..because guess what? It's what WE are here for!!

    QUOTE FOR THE DAY

"Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in."
    Bill Bradley

    Today's Strategy and Tips

How many times have you said I'll TRY to quit smoking, knowing full well that you don't really believe you can quit and don't really plan to quit? You must understand that quitting is not a game. Quitting is real life. If you are going to quit--QUIT! Don't just try. QUIT! If you stumble and start smoking again after quitting then quit again until you quit forever. Quit, or quit not. There is not try.

Clear out old tobacco, cigarettes, pipes, ashtrays and lighters. (If you have any really treasured items you don’t wish to throw out, put them in the attic or garden shed for now)make planters out of them for goodness sakes!

    Funny for the day!

I am just checking in for the day. i just joined the habitrol site and my nickname htere is esoteric . I decided that my goal for today will be to smoke every 2 hours instead of the every 35-45 minutes I usually do. This is a huge step for me. The strategy and tips for today are great. So is the idea about sunflower seeds. I can reach for them instead of a cigarette while online. Thanks and I will check in again soon and let everyone know how it is going.

    Good Morning!

Well, so how is everyone doing today? Still smoke free? If you are... SUPER!! If not..you WILL be...main key to success:
    1. DONT give up on yourself...only the sickarettes.
    2. If you slip...dont beat up on yourself...just start fresh as if it never happened.

For those of you going for the set date of June 1rst - Are you working on the mental? Remember it is a key ingredient in the recipe of success!

    QUOTE FOR THE DAY

I am not discouraged because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.
    Thomas Edison

    Today's Strategy and Tips

    * Think positively, you can do it, tell yourself “I choose not to smoke – I am in control”

    * Practice saying “no thanks I don’t smoke” or “no thanks I’ll have one later”

    * Start a savings jar and put away the money you would have spent on cigarettes, and plan a treat for yourself.

    Funny for the day!
