Very cool EricsnKy ! YOU are making the personal choice to "not" smoke, remember that, you HAVE the power to make that choice, hang in there, it gets better and better !

Cab92, you AND your hubby RULE !!! You are over the "hump", the "skin crawling" feelings... that feeling of "missing something", that is the breaking of the "hand to mouth" habit. That does go away, but, takes quite awhile longer then the nicotine withdrawl. There is really nothing to tell you, there is nothing you can really do about it, just know it will pass and maybe try and keep busy with other things... I know, I know, even the old " turning around to put your cigarette in the ashtray every time you needed both hands " was a full blown "habit"... It will take a few months, but, when the "calming" effect hits you, it RULES ! By calming, I mean the relaxing, easy feeling you will get in public by NOT being a smoker, you will be far more relaxed in EVERY public situation, just because your mind is not wondering when the next cigarette break will be, you will not be twitching in your seat at the doctor's office with that " I can't wait to get this over with so I can get out of here and light up" feeling. LOL, I know all about those deals ! In time, YOU will be the relaxed one, watching the smokers "craving" their next smoke...

To EVERYONE alse who is "hanging in there"... this is sooooo DO-ABLE !!!

i just wanted you all to know how proud i am of hubby!
his last cigarette was on 1/13/03! he even stopped patches last week. tho he did give me a funny look after dealing with the dr's office today and the redtape paperwork and said he wanted a cigarette......
but he breathes 100% clearer now and i really didnt think he was ever going to be able to do it.
    so.....
congrats to you all who have succeeded and those of you who want to succeed.
    "f"-em if they can't take a joke

The sleepiness, VERY normal, nicotine in a stimulant and your body had gotten used to running on the "stimulant", I personally gave into the sleepiness, I was in a position (not working at the time and no children) at the time that I could sleep whenever I wanted. It (sleep) really helped me get over the cravings.
The "bursting into tears", lol, again, VERY normal, your body had used the "habit" as a way to deal with lifes little everyday stresses, and, you have taken away your body's "security blanket", it will pass, it actually will pass pretty quickly.
Anyways, !!! CONGRATULATIONS !!! on your "to date" success, way to go !!! This whole thing is a very personal decision, you have to quit for YOU. Good job...
