CHOCOLATE GRAVY
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 tbsp. flour
Dash of salt
1 1/2 c. milk
Combine sugar, cocoa, flour, and salt in heavy skillet. Pour in milk, stirring over heat until thickened. Great to serve for breakfast with biscuits and butter.

Banana Nut Bread
3 mashed bananas
1/2 cup of water
3/4 cup honey
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup raisins
1 cup nuts
Mix all off the ingredients together. Stir until there are no lumps. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

Fresh Cranberry Muffins
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter
1 beaten egg
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
3/4 cup orange juice
2 cups chopped cranberries
In a blender, mix together dry ingredients. With 2 knives or pastry blender cut in butter. Add egg, orange juice, rind, and berries. Mix until just combined. Crease muffin tins and bake at 350 degrees till golden brown.

4 cups flour

1 cup shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla extract (or favorite flavoring)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour into a large pan. Pat out a well in the middle of the flour. Pour remaining ingredients into well. Knead dough by hand. Add flour to roll, if necessary. Roll out the dough, then cut out cookies. Bake until done.

Orange Cranberry Cookies
1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon Boyajian pure orange oil or 1 Tablespoon orange zest
2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1-1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
Orange Glaze
1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 to 2 Tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon Boyajian pure orange juice
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix butter, sugar, and egg thoroughly. Stir in sour cream, orange juice, and orange oil. Stir together flour, baking powder, and baking soda; blend in. Mix in cranberries. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake about 10 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched.
Orange Glaze: Mix confectioners' sugar with orange juice and pure orange juice until smooth. Frost cookies with orange glaze.

1/4 Cup Hot water
1 1/2 Cup milk
Make this like any other kind of gravy
Chocolate Gravy
3 Tbsp Cocoa
1 cup Sugar
2 Tbsp Flour
2 cup Milk
2 Tbsp Butter
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
Mix the cocoa, sugar, and flour together. Add the milk, making sure it mixes smoothly. Heat (medium) and stir constantly until it thickens. This takes about 8 minutes. Take off of heat. Add butter. Stir until it is melted and mixed. Add vanilla and stir until mixed. Serve hot over buttered biscuits. Buttered toast will do in a pinch.
Chocolate Gravy
3/4 stick butter
3 heaping Tbsps cocoa
3 heaping Tbsps flour
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups milk
1 cup sugar
Melt butter in heavy sauce pan. In a medium mixing bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt and cocoa. Add one cup of milk to butter and stir in dry ingredients. Add remaining 2 cups milk. Cook over medium heat until desired thickness stirring constantly. Serves 12
Chocolate Gravy
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon self-rising flour
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/4 cups water
1 tablespoon butter
1 In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, flour and cocoa powder. Add water and stir. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until thick. Remove from heat and add butter. Serve warm.

3 heaping table spoons flour
2 table spoons Hershey's cocoa
2 1/2 cups of water
Mix dry contents well
Add water
Bring to a boil
Boil until thick
Serve over warm biscuits

I had a recipe years ago. Used to be a special treat to serve over chocolate chip pancakes! Good on waffles too.
I LOVE it over big fluffy biscuts!! My dh has never had it so I wanted to make it for him!! My son will probably eat it all though!! Thanks for the fast service hahaha!
Irish Potato Soup
1 cup butter
4 medium onions, thinly sliced
8 baking potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
2 quarts milk (less for thicker soup)
Water
2 cloves garlic, crushed or 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic
1 tablespoon dried parsley
2 pinches each thyme and crushed red pepper
Salt and pepper
Melt butter; add onions and potatoes. Cook until thoroughly done (about 30 minutes), adding just enough water to keep from browning. Add milk and seasonings; heat thoroughly before serving. Do not boil.
NOTE: This is much better if made the day before.
YIELD: 3 quarts
Chocolate Chip-Cream Cheese Squares
INGREDIENTS (FIRST BATTER):
8 ounces cream cheese, cubed and softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 ounces chocolate chips
INGREDIENTS (SECOND BATTER):
1-1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup water
1 tablespoon vinegar
TO PREPARE (FIRST BATTER):
Place all ingredients in bowl except chocolate chips and beat with electric mixer until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips and set bowl aside.
TO PREPARE (SECOND BATTER):
Blend all ingredients together with spoon (the batter will be thin).
Pour into 9 x 13-inch greased and floured pan. Drop first batter by spoonfuls over second batter in pan. Swirl batter together slightly to create a marbled effect. Do not swirl all of top. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool; cut into squares and refrigerate.
YIELD: 16 servings
Shrimp and Bow Tie Pasta Salad
1 - 12 oz. box bow tie pasta, cooked al dente
1 pound small shrimp, cooked and peeled
1 - 14 oz. can black olives, halved
1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and sliced
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, chopped
1/4 cup pecans, chopped
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1/3 cup olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. spicy mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl. Combine last 6 ingredients in a cruet and shake well. Pour over pasta and vegetables and toss. Serve chilled.
Brown Soda Bread:
12 oz. coarse wheaten meal (healthfood or "whole food" stores carry this - some "upscale/gourment" grocery stores)
4 oz. flour
1 level tsp. baking soda
1 level tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 egg (optional)
1/2 pint buttermilk
1 oz. butter
Mix all dry ingredients together, beat egg and add to buttermilk. Mix in butter. Mix to a soft dough. Knead dough lightly. Put into a 9-inch cake tin. Bake for 3/4 hour at 440.
Pecan Bars
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, separated
3 tablespoons cinnamon
1 cup flour
1 cup finely chopped nuts
Cream butter and sugar. Beat egg yolk and add. Mix in cinnamon and flour. Spread on lightly-buttered 10- by 15-inch baking pan with 1/2 inch sides. Batter should cover pan. Brush slightly-beaten egg white over top of batter. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and pat lightly. Bake in 325 degree oven for 30 minutes. While still warm, cut into bars, about 1 inch by 2-1/2 inches, but do not remove from pan until cool.
YIELDS 4 DOZEN BARS
