Looking for a whiskey sauce recipe to go over bread pudding? Had some in Sacramento in a cajun resturant and am hooked. 10 hours too far to drive for whiskey sauce. Thanks.

    Bread Pudding & Whiskey Sauce

    2 eggs, beaten
    3 tablespoons butter, melted
    2 tablespoons vanilla extract
    2 1/2 cups milk
    1/4 cup white sugar
1 (1 pound) loaf French bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
    1 cup chopped pecans

    1/2 cup white sugar
    1/2 cup butter
    1/2 cup heavy cream
    1/4 cup whiskey

    Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch pan. In a large bowl, stir together eggs, butter, vanilla and milk. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar and mix thoroughly until sugar is dissolved. Place bread cubes in bottom of prepared pan. Pour liquid over bread, fully saturating all bread. Sprinkle pecans on top. Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, until golden.

Meanwhile, combine 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup butter, cream and
whiskey in a small saucepan. Warm over low heat, stirring
constantly, until sauce is gently boiling. Pour sauce over baked
    bread pudding and serve.

    6 cups day-old bread cubes
6 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces

    1 cup whiskey
    1 pound butter
    2 cups white sugar

Coat a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine eggs, 1 cup sugar, milk, cinnamon and nutmeg and stir until smooth. Fold in peaches, apples and bread cubes, until bread is well coated. Pour into prepared baking dish. Dot with 6 tablespoons butter.

Me either Fugi, and I love it. Bread pudding is like my comfort food. The buffet at Harrah's Casino out in Maryland Heights makes some of the best bread pudding and whiskey sauce I've ever had. And I've had it at plenty of places! The Tap Room has a really great bread pudding too, excellent, but they top it with real whipped cream, much sweeter and richer.

    Howya doon?
