"I was enrolled as a student at Umpqua Community College prior to my 2014 deployment to Afghanistan," Skarlatos said in a statement. "While I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time, in August aboard a train bound for Paris, I only wish that the same could be said for today," said Skarlatos.

I have heard several comments about the "coincidence" of a mass shooting in a tiny town that no one has ever heard of until it was revealed as the home town of one of the 'Heros' who thwarted the French Subway shooting. hmmmm

Does anyone remember that one of the US soldiers that took down the Islamic terrorist on the train in Europe is from Roseburg, Oregon and he could have been in that class that was murdered yesterday by the newly converted Muslim if he had not been on the DWTS show.

CNN Alters Photo of Umpqua Killer to Make Him Look White
    Jim Hoft Oct 4th, 2015 12:23 am

Via Conservative Treehouse: On the left is the selfie Christopher Mercer uploaded to his social media. On the right is how CNN presented the same selfie in broadcast stories about him. Why did CNN need to change the complexion (color) of their broadcast? Why is no-one showing pictures of mom, Laurel Margaret Harper?

His online profiles have been erased since the shooting.

New Details Emerge, Oregon Shooter Likely a Muslim

Yesterday, we reported that another school shooting took place at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, and it claimed the lives of at least ten people. Within hours of the shooting, President Obama already shamelessly used this tragedy to push his own ridiculous anti-gun agenda.

Now, the identity of the gunman has been revealed, and there’s one thing about him that the mainstream media is desperately trying to hide. According to Got News, shooter Chris Harper-Mercer has been exposed as a Muslim.

Harper-Mercer reportedly had a Myspace page with only two contacts on it. One of them was Mahmoud Ali Ehsani, a devout Muslim who boasts many violent terrorist images on his page.

This basically confirms that the shooting was a Muslim hate crime against Christians. Survivors have said that the shooter barged into classrooms and asked individual students if they were Christians. When they said yes, he reportedly told them, “Good, you’ll see God in a second” before brutally executing them.

Despite the fact that this is obviously an anti-Christian hate crime, Obama and his minions likely won’t be honoring the Christian victims who gave their lives for their faith. Instead, the president will be gleefully using this tragedy to take away our Second Amendment rights…Had the victims been Muslim, Obama would be in Oregon right now lecturing the entire country about “racism” against Muslims. Since they were Christians, however, Obama and his followers don’t care.

Oregon shooting survivor makes SHOCKING statement about gun control

Written by Michelle Jesse, Associate Editor on October 4, 2015

Amidst the knee-jerk cries for more gun control in the wake of Thursday’s massacre in Oregon comes a voice of reason from a surprising place. Shelby Wambolt survived the shooting, having managed to escape from Roseburg’s Umpqua Community College when the shooting broke out in a neighboring classroom. Despite her close brush with death — and having lost a close friend who died in the tragedy — Ms. Wambolt is suggesting more gun control is not the answer.

    Via Sky News:

[quote]Ms Wambolt said calls by President Obama for tighter regulations on gun ownership were misguided.

She said: “I know Obama got on the air and talked about gun control and I really don’t believe gun control is the problem.”

“What I’m hearing is that he (the gunman) did have mental illness and some issues but our town doesn’t have a lot of avenues for people who have mental illness. It is really sad because people who need help and treatment don’t get it. Could that have helped him? Could that have changed things? Could that have saved lives? We will never know.”

Indeed, we will never know whether better access to mental health support might have prevented this particular tragedy. We will also never know how many lives might have been saved had someone other than the shooter been armed in this school’s “gun-free” zone. Or how much this shooter’s own religious beliefs might have factored into his act, given his apparent targeting of Christians. Or…

Frankly, at this point, there remain more questions than solid answers.

Ms. Wambolt’s mature and common sense response to Thursday’s tragedy is a reminder to those quick to single out guns that the answer is likely much, much more complex.

Maniac tries to shoot up church…Congregation stops him with THIS

Written by Derrick Wilburn on October 6, 2015

Last week, President Obama delivered somber remarks in the aftermath of the mass shootings at Umpqua Community College near Roseburg Oregon. “The reporting is routine,” Obama said. “My response here at this podium ends up being routine, the conversation in the aftermath of it. We’ve become numb to this.”

In some regards, he’s right. CNN reported Obama’s now delivered statements regarding domestic gun violence 15 times in his near 7 years in office. By any standard – liberal, conservative or ‘other’- that’s 15 times too many.

But there’s a stunning gap in presidential time-and-again remarks, a flaw in liberal logic so screechingly loud that any and all can see it — but that liberals refuse to acknowledge. Liberals like Obama continually call for an imposition of more “gun-free zones” despite the facts that a) no such thing exists, and b) about the only places we see these mass shootings happening is in these very “zones.”

Of the more recent shootings that have captivated headlines, many have occurred in posted “gun-free zones” Columbine High School in Littleton Colorado; Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg Virginia; Fort Hood, Texas and Chattanooga, Tennessee, like all U.S. military bases; Century 16 Cinema in Aurora, Colorado; and Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut. On and on it goes.

BUT. There’s one would-be mass shooting and mass shooter you never hear mentioned. That’s because it never happened.

With over 10,000 congregants, New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado is a “mega church.” Its main sanctuary seats over 5,000 and is packed for most services. Add to that another huge youth sanctuary; chapels for children from infants through junior high; staff; and people hanging around the café, etc. — and you have a very target-dense building.

On December 9, 2007, at approximately 1:00pm, Matthew James Murray walked into New Life with enough armaments and ammunition to kill dozens, if not hundreds, if he were an accurate enough shot. The 11:00am service had just let out. People were everywhere. Murray shot and killed two in the parking lot then entered the building. That’s where his rampage ended. Unfortunately for Matt Murray, New Life Church was not a “gun-free zone.”

Once in the building Murry ran across Jeanne Assam, a woman with a concealed weapons carry permit, trained in the handling and use of firearms — and she was packing heat. Ms. Assam assessed the situation, pulled out her pistol and dropped him.

Matt Murray entered New Life Church that Sunday intent upon killing; however, in the final analysis, only one person was shot and killed inside New Life that day — the shooter himself, Matt Murray.

No one knows how many lives might’ve been lost had New Life Church been a “gun-free zone.” But we do know this, no President went on national TV that night talking about the need for more “gun-free zones” to help curb our “culture of gun violence,” yadda, yadda yadda. Why? Because rather than sit and wait her turn to be executed, Jeanne Assam was able to defend herself and those around her.

Imagine how many would be alive today if we had not more, but fewer, “gun-free zones.”

Bobby Jindal Blames 'Cultural Rot' For Oregon Shooting

    What about gun violence?

Igor Bobic - Associate Politics Editor, The Huffington Post
    Posted: 10/07/2015 09:30 AM EDT

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) blames the murder of nine people at an Oregon community college on abortion, single motherhood, and the deceased shooter's father.

In a lengthy blog post published Tuesday, the presidential contender laid out why “cultural rot,” not gun violence or mental health, led to yet another mass shooting in America. "We devalue human life, we have no regard for the sanctity of human life in any regard, from the unborn, to the old, and to every single person in between, we devalue it and act as if we have almost no regard for humanity," Jindal wrote.

The Louisiana governor, who has courted evangelical Christians since announcing his campaign for president, pointed to a breakdown of the family unit. "When he was asked what his relationship was with his son, he said he hadn’t seen him in a while because he lived with his mother. Case Closed," he said.

But Jindal was most critical of the shooter's father. "He brags that he has never held a gun in his life and that he had no idea that his son had any guns. Why didn’t he know? Because he failed to raise his son. He should be ashamed of himself, and he owes us all an apology," he said. "He’s a complete failure as a father, he should be embarrassed to even show his face in public. He’s the problem here," he added.

Here’s What The Note The Oregon Shooter Left At The Scene Said
    Jack Davis October 6, 2015 at 11:20am

The young man who killed nine people at an Oregon community college last week said “nothing could have stopped” the attack, according to a note the gunman left behind.

Although the full contents of the note have not been revealed, officials who have examined the two pages left behind described it as a “manifesto.”

“Other people think I’m crazy, but I’m not. I’m the sane one,” the gunman wrote, officials told the Associated Press.

“Many will ask how can they have prevented this? You can’t. You could never give me what I wanted. Nothing could have stopped it,” the gunman wrote, according to People magazine. “What was supposed to happen? What great event was supposed to make me realize I had so much going for me?”

The note talked about the gunman’s feelings of rejection. “I was hated ever since I arrived in the world. I was always under attack. I’ve always been the most hated person in the world. Ever since I arrived in the world,” People quoted the note as saying.

The note discussed the occult. “I’ve been forced to align myself with these demons and become one of them,” the note said, according to People. “At first, it was involuntary, but now I am aligned with them. I now serve. When I die I will become one of them.” He wrote, “My success in Hell is assured.”

The note also spoke of the gunman’s frustration at not having a girlfriend, said a police official.

Papers the gunman left behind complained about dying “friendless and a virgin,” the Daily Mail reported, citing an unnamed source. It said the number 666 was scrawled across the papers.

Obama heads to Roseburg today, a community divided over his visit
    October 9, 2015, 5:17 AM

Eight days after the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College, President Obama is coming to Roseburg, Ore., where he'll meet privately with victims' families and survivors.

Local officials say he is welcome, but that sentiment is not universal. Some residents in this conservative timber town about 180 miles south of Portland accuse him of using the Oct. 1 rampage to justify gun control. They plan to protest.

A gunman with six weapons, including a rifle, killed nine people and wounded nine more before taking his own life during a battle with police.

Obama, visibly frustrated, appeared in the White House press room a few hours later. "There's been another mass shooting in America -- this time, in a community college in Oregon," he said. "That means there are more American families -- moms, dads, children -- whose lives have been changed forever."

Obama urged Americans to tighten gun laws, but didn't sound hopeful. "What's become routine ... is the response of those who oppose any kind of common-sense gun legislation," he said. "Right now, I can imagine the press releases being cranked out: We need more guns, they'll argue. Fewer gun-safety laws. Does anybody really believe that?"

Hunting is popular in Douglas County, and so are guns. Obama's mention of gun control on the same day as the college shooting sparked some of the opposition.

David Jaques, publisher of the weekly Roseburg Beacon, told Fox News' Bill O'Reilly on Monday that local officials didn't want Obama to visit.

The president, he said, gave his news conference before the bodies had been counted. "Now, he wants to come to our community and stand on the corpses of our loved ones to make some kind of political point."

The next day, however, Roseburg city officials welcomed Obama and disputed media reports to the contrary.

"Since the announcement that President Obama may be in the Roseburg area on Friday to meet with the families that lost loved ones at Umpqua Community College, news outlets have been announcing that the president was not welcome in Roseburg. These announcements have included alleged quotes from community leaders," the city said in a statement.

"Unfortunately, individuals have been claiming to be speaking on behalf of the City of Roseburg. ... We wish to be clear that Mayor [Larry] Rich, City Council President [Tom] Ryan and the Roseburg City Council welcome the president to Roseburg and will extend him every courtesy."

The Douglas County Commissioners said they looked forward to Obama's visit. "Regardless of our differences with the president on policy issues, we await the president’s arrival and look forward to his show of support for a community who is grieving and whose heartache is immeasurable — especially the families of those killed,” the commissioners said in a statement.

Ryan, the council president, told NRToday, “We will honor the office and greet him with every courtesy due to that office. I hope [he visits] just to help heal the families and, if he does, everything is worth it.”

But one of the protest organizers, Michelle Finn, told the Associated Press: “He's coming here purely to push his garbage, and we don't want it.”
