Trump believes that there is a lack of common sense, innovative thinking in Washington (Hmmm. looks like he believes in horse sense!). He says it’s about seeing the unseen and that’s the kind of thinking we need to turn this country around. He tells a personal story to illustrate the point:

“When I opened Trump National Golf Club at Rancho Palos Verdes in Los Angeles, I was immediately told that I would need to build a new and costly ballroom. The current ballroom was gorgeous, but it only sat 200 people and we were losing business because people needed a larger space for their events. Building a new ballroom would take years to get approval and permits (since it’s on the Pacific Ocean), and cost about $5 million. I took one look at the ballroom and saw immediately what needed to be done. The problem wasn’t the size of the room, it was the size of the chairs. They were huge, heavy, and unwieldy.

We didn’t need a bigger ballroom, we needed smaller chairs! So I had them replaced with high-end, smaller chairs. I then had our people sell the old chairs and got more money for them than the cost of the new chairs. In the end, the ballroom went from seating 200 people to seating 320 people. Our visitors got the space they desired, and I spared everyone the hassle of years of construction and $5 million of expense.

It’s amazing what you can accomplish with a little common sense.” On top of his saving years of construction and $5 million in expenses, he also was able to keep the ballroom open for business during the time it would have been under remodeling, which allowed him to continue to make money on the space instead of losing that revenue during construction time.

Donald Trump’s entire life has been made up of success and winning. He’s been accused of bankruptcies, but that’s not true. He’s never filed personal bankruptcy. He’s bought companies and legally used bankruptcy laws to restructure their debt, just as businesses do all the time. But he’s never been bankrupt personally. He’s a fighter that clearly loves America and would fight for our nation.

Earlier I quoted Trump saying, “I love America. And when you love something, you protect it passionately – fiercely, even.” We never hear that from Democrats or even from most Republicans.

Donald Trump is saying things that desperately need to be said but no other candidate has shown the fortitude to stand up and say them.

Before we criticize someone because of what the media is saying, maybe we should consider what they have to offer. What are they bringing to the table. Researching their background independently of what the news says. What’s their bio?? Wha’t Obama’s bio? If you researched him prior to becoming President, would you have hired him to work for you or run your business?

    Roseanne Barr for Trump:
Illegal Immigrants Get Benefits ‘Our Own Veterans Don’t Get’

Actress-comedian Roseanne Barr praised Republican Donald Trump, blasted Democrat Hillary Clinton and expressed doubts about the American political system in a wide-ranging interview with the Hollywood Reporter this week.
“I think we would be so lucky if Trump won,’ the 67-year-old Roseanne star told THR on the eve of the California primary. “Because then it wouldn’t be Hillary.”

Barr, whose own 2012 presidential run is the subject of the new documentary Roseanne for President!, told THR that she supports Trump in the 2016 election because to her, “[Trump] is saying that the order of law matters.”

“When a president can just pass laws all on his own, that is a little bit different than what America was supposed to be about,” Barr explained. “And Trump is saying people will have to be vetted, we’ll have to have legal immigration. It’s all a scam. I mean, illegal immigration. When people come here and they get a lot of benefits that our own veterans don’t get. What’s up with that?”

Genius Felon Arrested After Posting Rap Video With Stolen Gun
    June 11, 2016

A self-styled rapper took a video of himself threatening to go to war with Donald Trump, because Trump wants to take his mama’s food stamps; he was arrested June 2nd on drug charges stemming from a traffic stop. That arrest allowed the Secret Service and Baton Rouge PD to interview him. In one of his rap videos, the convicted felon was holding a stolen pistol with a 100-round magazine and he flashed the serial number at the camera. Oops.

    WBRZ reports: http://www.wbrz.com/news/anti-trump-...of-stolen-guns

22-year-old Demarcus Davis was booked into the parish prison on charges of illegal possession of a stolen firearm and three counts of felon in possession of a firearm after he was arrested Thursday.

BRPD reported the burglary at Meaux Guns & Ammo, located in the 9600 block of Mammouth Drive, on July 6 of last year. At the time of the report, dozens of firearms were reported stolen. Among those guns was a Ruger 10/22 Krinker Plinker.

Investigators found that a post to social media was made on May 15 by a user identifying himself as Maine Musik. The social media post contains a video where Davis “raps/monologues” about warning people not to “mess” with the group. The group received a visit from authorities in connection with the clip, which also threatened presidential hopeful Donald Trump should he limit access to food stamps. Maine Musik also includes statements about his supposed connection to ISIS and reported access to grenades.

Davis and at least eight other suspects are seen in the video holding various firearms including rifles, pistols and a sawed-off shotgun. According to police, all of the guns visible in the video appear to match makes/models of firearms that were reported stolen by the victimized business.

Detectives said they were also able to locate the suspect by using a house number and street name visible in the video. A search of Davis’ public Facebook account turned up a photo of the rapper holding the Ruger pistol that was reported stolen. The gun featured numerous customizations and modifications that made it distinctive and easy to spot, according to BRPD.
Threatening a presidential candidate, claiming connection to ISIS, drug charges, possession of a stolen firearm, and three counts of felon in possession of a firearm. Sounds like somebody who should stay in jail, right? We’ve heard unconfirmed reports that he’s out on bail.

Rapper busted after video shows him blasting Trump while brandishing stolen guns
By Hollie McKay - ˇPublished June 10, 2016

A former “Sons of Guns” reality TV star did a double-take last month when he clicked on a link that said, “Rapper Threatens Trump” and instantly recognized his distinctively customized firearms being waved around by a local wannabe.

“As I’m watching it, I’m thinking these guns are very recognizable,” Joe Meaux, whose Baton Rouge store, Meaux Guns and Ammo, was burglarized in July, 2015. “As I watched more, I realized that they were very familiar. They were stolen from me last year.”

By the time Meaux called police, he said local authorities and the Secret Service were already aware of the Instagram video featuring Demarcus Davis, 22, a local rapper who goes by “Maine Musik.” While they may not have known the guns were stolen, the federal agency takes any threat to a presidential candidate very seriously.

“I really want to go to war with Donald Trump because Donald Trump is tryin’ to take food stamps from my momma and that’s all the (expletive) she got,” Davis said on the video. “Let Donald Trump know it’s up over here. We want war; we’re going to declare war.”

Later in the video, Davis makes an ambiguous reference to ISIS.

“I ain’t worried about ISIS,” Davis said on camera. “They just called me and want me to f**k with them now. You heard me, we’ve got them drums and grenades but I’m scared to throw them.”

Davis was nabbed on June 3, when he ran a stop sign in Baton Rouge, according to police. There was a warrant out for his arrest stemming from an undisclosed 2015 incident.

“Davis was stopped for traffic violation,” Baton Rouge Police Sgt. Don Coppola said. “It was at that time that we learned that he was wanted and then he was taken into custody at that time.”

Davis was booked on multiple weapons counts and a drug charge, police said. He posted $23,000 bail and was released the same day, according to online records. While his charges include possession of stolen guns, Davis is not currently suspected of taking part in a burglary blitz of Baton Rouge gun shops last summer that included an audacious heist at Meaux’s store. Three men are facing prosecution for those break-ins.

The Secret Service did not respond to a request for comment.

Meaux said his guns, stolen when thieves bored into the side of the Mammoth Avenue building after hours, were easy to spot.

“My guns are all very recognizable, we do a lot of custom work,” he said. “There was one Ak-47 copy built from a .22 I identified. Everything from the optic to the way the sling was placed was all very identifiable.”

In addition to the videos featuring allegedly stolen guns, investigators found a photo of Davis holding a stolen customized Ruger 10/22 Krinker Plinker on his public Facebook page, sources said. His Instagram account, which has 53,000 followers, still shows photographs of him posing with other guns.

“Many of the items have been recovered, but the matter is still under investigation so when that is completed we will hopefully get them back,” Meaux said. “But the most important thing is that they are off the streets now.”

A store Meaux previously ran, Red Jacket Firearms, was for several seasons the centerpiece of the Discovery show “Sons of Guns.” The show was canceled in 2014 after co-owner Will Hayden was charged with sex offenses.

Davis, who could not be reached for comment and did not have an attorney listed on court documents, is back on the streets awaiting his next legal hearing. And in a new video posted to his Instagram account on Wednesday, he had traded in stolen guns for a knife.

“F**k Donald Trump,” Davis says on screen as he walks through an urban neighborhood, waving a large blade. “No more guns… It’s our summer ... 16, b*tch.”

Trump wasn't my first choice - or second - or even third.

But I will not cast my vote for Hillary or Bernie; even by default.

    by Julia Hahn - 23 Jun 2016 Washington D.C.

In a segment that was billed as CNN’s “fact check” of Donald Trump’s anti-Hillary speech, CNN gave a demonstrably false presentation of U.S. immigration policy in an effort to undermine Trump’s factually correct statements.

The segment was remarkable in that it not only revealed CNN’s profound ignorance of federal immigration policy, but an examination of the segment’s transcript also reveals that CNN ignored and blatantly distorted what Trump had actually said.

CNN’s Tom Foreman accused Trump making a “false” statement about Hillary Clinton’s refugee policy when Trump statement was, in fact, true.

“The reality check team was very busy during all of this [speech],” Foreman said. “Trump attacked Clinton’s plan to increase the number of Syrian refugees taken into America.”

Foreman then played video footage of Trump’s speech in which Trump said, “Under her [Clinton’s] plan, we would admit hundreds of thousands of refugees from the most dangerous countries on Earth – with no way to screen who they are, what they are, what they believe, where they come from.”

Foreman then delved into his “analysis” of Trump’s statement:

He was talking about this in reference to the Syria program in context of his speech. So let’s look at the reality there. President Obama has said he’d like to get 10,000 Syrian refugees in here by the end of September this year. Yes, Hillary Clinton has talked about increasing that substantially to 65,000 people being brought in in the near term. Still, that is not hundreds of thousands of people out there. And more importantly, she has said that none of these people should come in without the most stringent screening and vetting process. Now granted there are security analysts who say it’s very hard to have an infallible system and especially hard when you talk about Syria where the civil war makes checking the backgrounds of people very, very, difficult. That said if you look at his overall claim: hundreds of thousands, no checking whatsoever, that is simply false.
However, CNN’s fact checker is incorrect for multiple reasons.

First and most glaringly, Foreman distorts Trump’s statement to change its meaning. Trump did not say that Clinton would admit hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees. Rather, Trump said that under Clinton’s plan the U.S. “would admit hundreds of thousands of refugees from the most dangerous countries on Earth.” [emphasis added].

Trump made clear that these were refugees coming from multiple “countries”— i.e. plural— not just Syria.

CNN is apparently unaware that the 65,000 Syrian refugees Clinton wants to admit into the United States would be in addition to the tens of thousands of refugees the U.S. already admits each year. Thus, the additional 65,000 Syrian refugees would come on top of the roughly 33,000 refugees and asylees the U.S. already admits from the Middle East each year. Adding in Clinton’s refugee admissions from across the Muslim world, this means that under Clinton’s plan, the U.S. would admit at least 105,000 thousand refugees from the Muslim world in a single year, based on data from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Foreman similarly did not seem to grasp that these refugee numbers are annual figures. If elected President, Clinton would presumably be in office for more than one year. As such, Trump is correct to say that under her plan, Clinton would admit hundreds of thousands refugees from the most dangerous countries on Earth during her presidency.

Moreover, contrary to CNN’s assertion, Clinton has made no indication that, as President, she wants to limit her proposed Syrian refugee program to one year. Plus, once Clinton’s Syrian refugees are here as green card holders, they will have the ability to bring over their family members through chain migration. If Clinton’s Syrian refugee program continues throughout her presidency, based on the minimum numbers Clinton has put forward thus far, Clinton would admit:

    – 374,000 refugees/asylees from the Middle East during her first term, based on DHS data.

    – 420,000 refugees/asylees from the Muslim world during her first term.

    – 560,000 permanent migrants from the Middle East during her first term.

    – 730,000 permanent migrants from the Muslim world during her first term.
As such, contrary to CNN’s “fact check”, Trump is correct. Clinton would import “hundreds of thousands of refugees” from dangerous regions of the world in her first term alone.

Additionally, Foreman’s assertion that Clinton will not bring in refugees unless they undergo the “most stringent screening and vetting process” similarly fails to consider the facts.

Foreman’s admission that “there are security analysts who say it’s very hard to have an infallible system” is an extreme understatement.

Foreman does not mention that these “security analysts” include President Obama’s own senior officials—such as FBI director James Comey and DNI director James Clapper.

As Chairman of the House Counterterrorism and Intelligence Subcommittee, Peter King has explained that there is, “no real way of vetting, to any extent, these refugees coming in.” King’s warning echoed that of FBI Counterterrorism Assistant Director Michael Steinbach, who last year said it is impossible to do background checks on the refugees because Syria, “a failed state, does not have any infrastructure so to speak. So all the data sets, the police, the intel services, that you would normally go to and seek that information, don’t exist.”

Moreover, as Sen. Jeff Sessions has observed, the vetting process cannot take into account post-entry radicalization, which is enabled by the importation of large numbers of people who hold anti-Western values.

Vetting means not simply keeping out people who currently have terror aspirations and already have direct ties to terror, but also keeping those out who—based on their support for Islamist ideology— would be candidates for terror, or whose children could become candidates for terror, or who hold values that are hostile to American values.

As Andrew McCarthy has explained, “jihadism thrives when it has a support system of sharia-adherent Muslims. In Europe this means – as it would mean here – enclaves of assimilation-resistant Muslims… It is patently obvious that our security challenge is not just jihadists; it is the combination of jihadists and their support network of assimilation-resistant Muslims. Indeed, even if we could vet for all the currently active jihadists, it is from the assimilation-resistance Islamic communities that future “homegrown” jihadists will emerge – and that is apart from the material and moral support jihadists get from like-minded Islamists in these communities.”

According to Pew, nearly all Muslims in Afghanistan (99%) support sharia law as official law. Between 2013 and 2014, immigration from Afghanistan increased nearly five fold.

Yet Clinton has made clear that under her immigration plan immigration from Afghanistan will either increase or remain at the same high level. Since Clinton has rejected the entire premise of taking religious beliefs into consideration as a factor for screening, Clinton’s immigration policy will not vet candidates for the likelihood of post-entry radicalization.

In its subsequent “fact check”, CNN took issue with Trump’s claim that the problems we face as a nation today arose “because we switched from a policy of Americanism – focusing on what’s good for America’s middle class – to a policy of globalism, focusing on how to make money for large corporations who can move their wealth and workers to foreign countries all to the detriment of the American worker and the American economy itself.”

CNN tried to argue that even though Trump’s statement was true, it was somehow “misleading.”

Foreman said: “The case can be made that there are policies that have enabled the offshoring of jobs that are American jobs and now are somewhere else, but Trump does not mention there though… is that many of his manufacturing companies have been part of that trend. Shipping jobs off to Asia, and to China and to Central America. He probably should have mentioned that. His claim is true, but because he left that out, it’s also a bit misleading.”

CNN’s decision to label Trump’s statement as “misleading” is bizarre. One would think that Trump’s experience of having had to compete in the real global economy makes his indictment of globalism — and his indictment of globalism’s impact on the American worker — even more credible. In much the same way that a steel executive, who is forced to shut down a steel mill due to global competition, is the most credible source to testify as to the needs of how to protect domestic steel.

Under CNN’s argument, a steel executive calling for steel protectionism is “misleading” the public if he had been unable to survive in the competitive global environment. Trump is proposing changing the rules for doing business in America so that it is no longer a race to the bottom.

The only other Trump statement CNN “fact checked” in this segment was found to be mostly true.

Trump said that the U.S. has “lost nearly one-third of our manufacturing jobs since these two Hillary-backed agreements [NAFTA and China’s entrance into the WTO] were signed.”

has hillary informed americans what it will cost them to support each refugee? refugees are entitled to collect ss, medicare, medicaid, housing, food, clothing, education etc................all paid for ny us. we have ss and medicare/medicaid running out of money very soon so just imagine the cost of just admitting 1000 refugees who procreate and become 4000 supported by us. someone estimated the cost per refugee was around $64000 + per year so that the first year those 1000 will cost us at least 64,000,000 and that is without making babies that will automatically become US citizens. so if we admit 100000 refugees in 1 year at $64000, the bill becomes 6,400,000,000 just for 1 year. scary isn't it

NBC Producer Praises Donald Trump Assassin
By Michael Becker on June 27, 2016

If you ever had any doubts about media bias this story should put those to rest. It’s no secret that the media hates Donald Trump with a passion. They may hate him more than Democrats or even the Establishment Republicans.

The story revolves around Michael Stephen Sanford. Sanford was a legal immigrant who overstayed his visa – thus becoming an illegal alien that the Obama administration ignored. For whatever reason he hated Donald Trump. I suspect he got indoctrinated listening to the media accounts from Hillary Clinton’s campaign and from the Republican Establishment.

He went to a Trump rally in Las Vegas and grabbed a police officer’s gun so he could assassinate Donald Trump. He was convinced he was going to die trying and from my perspective, it’s too bad he didn’t. There’s still time for Barack Obama to pardon him.

The media has been incessantly blaring reports from both sides; the far left and the establishment Republicans are smearing Trump as a racist, sexist, Islam a fold, demagogue, Hitler, and repeatedly noting that Trump’s working-class white supporters “deserve to die"

If you listen to a steady diet of that you can justify just about anything aimed at Donald Trump. After all they repeatedly call him a fascist and celebrate violent threats aimed at Trump and his supporters.

Matthew Mowrer is an associate producer for NBC Universal. He sent out a tweet last week that ups the ante in terms of biased statements.

Apparently Mowrer wants to make the case – directly – that assassinating Donald Trump is a good idea.

Since that tweet his twitter account was flipped to private and NBC Universal refuses to respond to questions about the tweet.

This is going to be a long hot summer and you can bet that Democrats and their operatives with bylines in the media will be looking for race riots at every Trump stop. And they’ll be doing everything they can to start them.

AP Fact Check: Donald Trump’s RNC acceptance speech
    July 21, 2016 at 11:30 PM EDT

WASHINGTON — TRUMP: “Decades of progress made in bringing down crime are now being reversed by this administration’s rollback of criminal enforcement. Homicides last year increased by 17 percent in America’s 50 largest cities. That’s the largest increase in 25 years.”

THE FACTS: A rollback? President Barack Obama has actually achieved some big increases in spending for state and local law enforcement, including billions in grants provided through the 2009 stimulus. While FBI crime statistics for 2015 are not yet available, Trump’s claim about rising homicides appears to come from a Washington Post analysis published in January. While Trump accurately quotes part of the analysis, he omits that the statistical jump was so large because homicides are still very low by historical standards. In the 50 cities cited by the Post, for example, half as many people were killed last year as in 1991.

    ___

TRUMP: “The number of new illegal immigrant families who have crossed the border so far this year already exceeds the entire total from 2015. They are being released by the tens of thousands into our communities with no regard for the impact on public safety or resources.”

THE FACTS: The pace of releasing immigrants is driven not by the Obama administration, but by a court ruling. A federal judge ruled last year that the government couldn’t hold parents and children in jail for more than 20 days. An appeals court partially rolled that back earlier this month, saying that parents could be detained but children must be released.

By the standard used by the government to estimate illegal border crossings – the number of arrests — Trump is right that the number in this budget year has already exceeded last year’s total. But it’s down from 2014.

    ___

TRUMP: “When a secretary of state illegally stores her emails on a private server, deletes 33,000 of them so the authorities can’t see her crime, puts our country at risk, lies about it in every different form and faces no consequence – I know that corruption has reached a level like never before.”

THE FACTS: Clinton’s use of a private server to store her emails was not illegal under federal law. Her actions were not established as a crime. The FBI investigated the matter and its role was to advise the Justice Department whether to bring charges against her based on what it found. FBI Director James Comey declined to refer the case for criminal prosecution to the Justice Department, instead accusing Clinton of extreme carelessness.

As for Trump’s claim that Clinton faces no consequence, that may be true in a legal sense. But the matter has been a distraction to her campaign and fed into public perceptions that she can’t be trusted. The election will test whether she has paid a price politically.

    ___

TRUMP: “The number of police officers killed in the line of duty has risen by almost 50 percent compared to this point last year.”

THE FACTS: Not according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which tracks police fatalities daily. The group found that the number of police officers who died as of July 20 is up just slightly this year, at 67, compared with 62 through the same period last year. That includes deaths in the line of duty from all causes, including traffic fatalities.

It is true that there has been a spike in police deaths from intentional shootings, 32 this year compared with 18 last year, largely attributable to the recent mass shootings in Dallas and Baton Rouge. But that was not his claim.

And overall, police are statistically safer on America’s streets now than at any time in recent decades.

For example, the 109 law enforcement fatalities in 2013 were the lowest since 1956.

TRUMP: “My opponent has called for a radical 550 percent increase in Syrian (refugees). … She proposes this despite the fact that there’s no way to screen these refugees in order to find out who they are or where they come from. I only want to admit individuals into our country who will support our values and love our people.”

THE FACTS: Trump persists in making the bogus claim that the U.S. doesn’t screen refugees. The administration both screens them and knows where they are from. The Department of Homeland Security leads the process, which involves rigorous background checks. Processing of a refugee can take 18 months to two years, and usually longer for those coming from Syria. Refugees are also subject to in-person interviews and fingerprint and other biometric screening.

For all that caution, U.S. officials acknowledge that the Islamic State group could try to place operatives among refugees. Last year, FBI Director James Comey said data about people coming from Syria may be limited, adding, “If we don’t know much about somebody, there won’t be anything in our database.”

    ___

TRUMP: “Two million more Latinos are in poverty today than when President Obama took his oath of office less than eight years ago. Another 14 million people have left the workforce entirely. … President Obama has almost doubled our national debt to more than $19 trillion, and growing.”

THE FACTS: Trump is playing with numbers to make the economy look worse than it actually is. The sluggish recovery over the past seven years has been frustrating. But with unemployment at 4.9 percent, the situation isn’t as bleak as he suggests.

Trump’s figure of 14 million who’ve stopped working since Obama took office comes from the Labor Department’s measure of people not in the workforce. It’s misleading for three reasons: The U.S. population has increased in that time; the country has aged and people have retired; and younger people are staying in school longer for college and advanced degrees, so they’re not in the labor force, either.

A better figure is labor force participation — the share of people with jobs or who are searching for work. That figure has declined from 65.7 percent when Obama took office to 62.7 percent now. Part of that decrease reflects retirements, but the decline is also a long-term trend.

On national debt, economists say a more meaningful measure than dollars is the share of the overall economy taken up by the debt. By that measure, the debt rose 36 percent under Obama (rather than doubling). That’s roughly the same as what occurred under Republican President George W. Bush.

The Hispanic population has risen since Obama while the poverty rate has fallen. The Pew Research Center found that 23.5 percent of the country’s 55.3 million Latinos live in poverty, compared with 24.7 percent in 2010.

    ___

TRUMP: “Another humiliation came when President Obama drew a red line in Syria, and the whole world knew it meant absolutely nothing.”

THE FACTS: Trump’s reference is to a threat by Obama for retaliatory strikes if Syrian President Bashar Assad used chemical weapons against rebels — and he’s basically on target. When Assad crossed Obama’s “red line” in 2013 by using chemical weapons, the U.S. president backed down.

Obama’s two secretaries of state, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, pushed for intervention, as have a former defense secretary and CIA director. But Obama as commander-in-chief has the last word, and nothing has swayed him thus far.

    ___

TRUMP: “When that same secretary of state rakes in millions and millions of dollars trading access and favors to special interests and foreign powers, I know the time for action has come.”

THE FACTS: That’s a somewhat overheated take on a legitimately troublesome issue for Clinton.

Although financial disclosures show she earned only her government salary as secretary of state, she made more than $21 million afterward, over three years, for speeches and appearances for private companies. None of those speeches was paid for by foreign governments, but some groups she addressed could be counted as special interests.

As well, the Clintons’ family charity, the Clinton Foundation, received millions of dollars in donations while she was secretary of state, some from foreigners. And Bill Clinton earned millions making appearances and speeches for foreign corporations and organizations while his wife was at the State Department.

TRUMP: “After four years of Hillary Clinton, what do we have? ISIS has spread across the region, and the entire world. Libya is in ruins, and our ambassador and his staff were left helpless to die at the hands of savage killers. Egypt was turned over to the radical Muslim Brotherhood, forcing the military to retake control. Iraq is in chaos. Iran is on the path to nuclear weapons. Syria is engulfed in a civil war and a refugee crisis now threatens the West. … This is the legacy of Hillary Clinton: death, destruction, terrorism and weakness.”

THE FACTS: It’s an exaggeration to suggest Clinton, or any secretary of state, is to blame for the widespread instability and violence across the Middle East.

Clinton worked to impose sanctions that helped coax Tehran to a nuclear deal with the U.S. and other world powers last year, a deal in which Iran rolled back its nuclear program to get relief from sanctions that were choking its economy.

She did not start the war in Libya, but supported a NATO intervention well after violence broke out between rebels and the forces of dictator Moammar Gadhafi. The country slid into chaos after Gadhafi was ousted and killed in 2011, leaving it split between competing governments.

Clinton had no role in military decisions made during the 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, that killed U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. Republicans’ claim that high-level officials in Washington issued a “stand-down” order delaying a military rescue in Benghazi has been widely debunked.

On Iraq, Clinton as a senator voted in 2002 to grant President George W. Bush authority to invade Iraq, but has since said it was a “mistake.” Many in the Middle East do not regret Saddam’s ouster and regional allies allowed U.S. bases in their country to support the war. But many also now fear the Islamic State group, which rose in the chaos of Syria’s civil war and Iraq’s security vacuum.

TRUMP: “America is one of the highest-taxed nations in the world.”

THE FACTS: Trump continues to repeat this inaccuracy. The U.S. tax burden is actually the fourth lowest among the 34 developed and large emerging-market economies that make up the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Taxes made up 26 percent of the total U.S. economy in 2014, according to the OECD. That’s far below Sweden’s tax burden of 42.7 percent, Britain’s 32.6 percent or Germany’s 36.1 percent. Only three OECD members had a lower figure than the U.S.: Chile, South Korea and Mexico.

TRUMP: “My opponent wants to essentially abolish the Second Amendment.”

THE FACTS: Hillary Clinton has not proposed any revocation of the constitutionally protected right to bear arms. She does support a ban on certain military-style weapons, similar to the law President Bill Clinton signed in the 1990s. That ban expired after 10 years and was not renewed. Clinton also backs an expansion of existing criminal background checks to apply to weapons sales at gun shows. The checks now apply mainly to sales by federally licensed gun dealers.
