Miss USA announces new entertainment, judges for pageant to replace drop-outs
    July 10, 2015

Rap impresario Master P — who ran his No Limits Records music empire out of Baton Rouge for several years — will join a roster of new entertainers and judges for the Miss USA pageant, replacing celebrities who defected in the wake of pageant owner Donald Trump’s disparaging comments about Mexican immigrants.

Country music entertainer Adley Stump, a former contestant on “The Voice,” will perform as a guest vocalist with a live in-house band, according to a news release from Reelz, the cable network that picked up the pageant for broadcast after it was dropped by NBC and Univision. Former “American Idol” singers Stefano Langone and Felicia Barton also announced on Twitter that they would perform.

Barton’s tweet indicated that they will be joined by former boy band NLT front man Travis Garland and television background singer Toni Scruggs.

Master P will make his guest appearance backstage along with daughter Cymphonique. The pair are starring in an upcoming Reelz series.

Master P, whose real name is Percy Miller, left Baton Rouge in 2002 after living here for several years. The rapper had moved No Limit Records to the city and his family into a home in the posh Country Club of Louisiana. When he moved away, he issued a statement saying he was leaving because of “prejudice” of those in the city. He also left behind him a trail of debts and litigation over money disputes.

He could not be reached for comment Friday.

The new judges are all former contestants with the Miss USA and Miss Universe organizations: Nana Meriwether, Miss USA 2010; Leila Umenyiora, Miss Universe 2011; Rima Fakih, Miss USA 2010; Crystle Stewart, Miss USA 2008; Danielle Doty, Miss Teen USA 2011; Tara Conner, Miss USA 2006; Kimberly Pressler, Miss USA 1999; Brook Lee, winner of both Miss USA and Miss Universe 1997; and Michelle McLean-Bailey, Miss Universe 1992.

Earlier this week, Miss USA also filled its vacant host spots with Todd Newton, an Emmy award-winning host, and Alex Wehrley, Miss Wisconsin USA 2009.

The Miss USA pageant, which Baton Rouge is hosting for the second year in a row, became embroiled in controversy after Trump, a Republican presidential candidate, made comments about Mexico sending criminals to the U.S. Entertainers, judges and hosts dropped out of the event, citing Trump’s comments.

The original lineup of entertainers included rapper Flo Rida, singer Natalie LaRose, former winner of “The Voice” Craig Wayne Boyd and Colombian singer J Balvin.

The hosts who dropped out were Jeannie Mai, a daytime host of “The Real”; Cheryl Burke, of “Dancing With The Stars” fame; and Thomas Roberts, an “MSNBC Live” host.

Former judges who have disassociated themselves with the pageant are Jonathan Scott, an HGTV star; Former Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera, who represented Puerto Rico; and NFL legend Emmitt Smith.

Chilean actor Cristian de la Fuente and Puerto Rican singer and actress Roselyn Sanchez said last week that they would no longer co-host the Miss USA simulcast in Spanish.

The pageant finals are Sunday night in the Baton Rouge River Center.

Finally, a beauty pageant where the judges will actually know something about what they are judging and not celebrities who are only about getting their names in the press but don't know squat about beauty.

As the political class huddle in their empty suits (Republicans & Democrats!) to get their talking points for the day, unable to think independently, reading from scripts handed to them, giving interviews only to carefully selected propagandists, Donald Trump is in the arena speaking from the heart, giving interviews to all comers, from small town newspapers, to those adversarial, and confrontational to him.

Speaking truth to power is what elitist hate most, a Truthteller.

    ...

Geraldo Rivera was discussing the Trump situation this morning, and disparges Trump for being "inconsiderate" and turns right around and refers to people who support the TeaParty, as "whatever you call them.".

Wow! Hey, can you say double standard?!

He just demonstrated why we love Trump.

Trump lands in new controversy over breast-feeding comments
    23 hrs ago

WASHINGTON, July 29 (Reuters) - Republican Donald Trump on Wednesday pushed back against a lawyer he had berated when she requested a break to pump breast milk for her then-infant daughter, the latest controversial remark to emerge in his presidential campaign.

Trump did not deny getting angry and calling the woman "disgusting" in 2011 but lashed back after reports of the incident emerged late on Tuesday.

Miami-based lawyer Elizabeth Beck was questioning the wealthy developer and television personality in a Florida real estate case when she asked for the break, according to court testimony first reported by the New York Times.

Trump abruptly ended the deposition and questioned his own lawyer's request for a bathroom break, according to the testimony.

"She wanted to breast pump in front of me at dep(osition)," Trump said on Twitter on Wednesday. Beck told Reuters that was untrue.

"I'm exasperated now because he's telling falsehoods," she said.

Trump, known for his brash style, has come under fire for his comments on Mexican immigrants, veterans and other Republican presidential candidates even as he climbs in opinion polls.

The latest flare-up came after a top adviser to Trump apologized on Tuesday for making "inarticulate" comments on the subject of marital rape that also generated controversy.

On CNN earlier on Wednesday, Beck said, "He got up, his face got red, he shook his finger at me and he screamed, 'You're disgusting, you're disgusting,' and he ran out of there."

Afterward, Trump fired back on Twitter: "So many people who know nothing about me are commenting all over T.V. and the media as though they have great D.J.T. insight. Know NOTHING!"

But Beck defended her remarks and said she had witnessed his behavior during numerous in-person interactions with the mogul over several years.

"I know what I saw," she said. "You know how they behave in certain circumstances."

Trump lawyer Alan Garten told the Times he thought Beck's request was a bid to buy time, but his comments did not reflect a position on breast-feeding.

Beck, whose firm is still involved in litigation with Trump, rejected that argument and said Trump later flew to her law office in Miami to finish the deposition.

The Times also cited depositions for several lawsuits since 2007 that it said showed the candidate's raw edge and his tendency to exaggerate business deals.

Trump representatives did not return a phone call seeking comment.

Donald Trump Right His Immigration - Deportation Plan Will Work

Donald Trump has stated that if he is elected President, he will round up all the illegals and send them back to where they came from. A majority coming from Mexico.

Liberal critics said it couldn't be done and would be too expensive.

    Trump though, is right again.

A 2010 study by Heritage Foundation scholar Robert Rector has shown those assumptions to be untrue, revealing that deporting illegal migrants actually saves America roughly $700,000 per family.

The report compared total tax contributions from illegal immigrant workers, estimated to be about $13 billion, with all of the taxpayer-funded aid received by illegal immigrants, such as education, subsidized housing, medical expenses, food stamps and tax credits, estimated to be around $113 billion, leaving a net loss to the economy of $100 billion.

The study also showed that it wouldn’t cost nearly as much to round up and deport illegal immigrants as critics claim, as many wouldn’t even have to be deported at all, but would likely return to their own country voluntarily under Trump’s plan.

The OBAMA administration HAS NOT,AND AT THIS TIME YET PROVIDED "SECRET SERVICE PROTECTION" for front running Republican candidate.???? REMEMBER BOBBY KENNEDY???...TRUMP NEEDS TO HIRE "BLACK WATER" TO BOLSTER HIS OWN FORCE THEN BILL THE GOVERNMENT....THE FOLLOWING IS AN EXCERPT FROM A NEWS BULLETIN....Donald Trump, the frontrunner Republican candidate for president in the primary campaign season so far, told the Hill in a lengthy sit-down interview he ought to have Secret Service protection, given his crowds.

He also expressed a bit of outrage at the fact President Obama garnered the federal protection force during his race for the White House, as early in the campaign season as May 2007.

Trump, who’s bringing in crowds that rival what then-senator Obama did, has not yet been given Secret Service, however. And as the Hill pointed out: He’s not pleased.

“I want to put them on notice because they should have a liability,” he said, in the interview with the news organization. “Personally, I think if Obama were doing as well as me he would’ve had Secret Service [earlier in his campaign]. I have by far the biggest crowds.”

Obama’s Secret Service detail started on May 3, 2007, in what some law enforcement officials said was an uncommonly early protection plan for a candidate, the Hill said.

Trump said he’s had his personal security agents talk to Secret Service officials about the possibility of providing service, but so far, the federal authorities haven’t given a solid yes or no answer.

“They’re in no rush because I’m a Republican,” he joked, the Hill reported. “They don’t give a sh**.”

He then followed up that comment with this, a little later in the interview: “Of course, I don’t think they’d want anything to happen. But I would think they should be very proactive and want protection for somebody like me that has 20,000 people at any time. You would think that they would want to be very proactive, but we have not heard from them.”

Trump did bolster his own private security force in July after receiving threats from drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who escaped from prison.

The Hill reported the Department of Homeland Security said it’s not received a formal request for Secret Service protection from Trump’s campaign.

    Donald Trump—Who He REALLY Is
    by Chuck Yeager

The criticisms of Trump are amazingly missing something. They are lacking in negative stories from those who work for him or have had business dealings with him. After all the employees he’s had and all the business deals he’s made there is a void of criticism. In fact, long term employees call him a strong and merciful leader and say he is far more righteous and of high integrity than people may think.

And while it may surprise many, he’s actually humble when it comes to his generosity and kindness. A good example is a story that tells of his limo breaking down on a deserted highway outside of New York City. A middle-aged couple stopped to help him and as a thank you he paid off their mortgage, but he didn’t brag about that. Generous and good people rarely talk of charity they bestow on others. But as much as all this is interesting, the real thing that people want to know is what Donald Trump’s plan is for America. It’s funny how so many people say they don’t know what it is, or they act like Trump is hiding it. The information is readily available if people would just do a little homework. But, since most Americans won’t do their own research, here, in no particular order, is an overview of many of Trumps positions and plans:

1.) Trump believes that America should not intervene militarily in other country’s problems without being compensated for doing so. If America is going to risk the lives of our soldiers and incur the expense of going to war, then the nations we help must be willing to pay for our help. Using the Iraq War as an example, he cites the huge monetary expense to American taxpayers (over $1.5 trillion, and possibly much more depending on what sources are used to determine the cost) in addition to the cost in human life. He suggests that Iraq should have been required to give us enough of their oil to pay for the expenses we incurred. He includes in those expenses the medical costs for our military and $5 million for each family that lost a loved one in the war and $2 million for each family of soldiers who received severe injuries.

2.) Speaking of the military, Trump wants America to have a strong military again. He believes the single most important function of the federal government is national defense. He has said he wants to find the General Patton or General MacArthur that could lead our military buildup back to the strength it needs to be. While he hasn’t said it directly that I know of, Trump’s attitude about America and about winning tells me he’d most likely be quick to eliminate rules of engagement that handicap our military in battle. Clearly Trump is a “win at all costs” kind of guy, and I’m sure that would apply to our national defense and security, too.

3.) Trump wants a strong foreign policy and believes that it must include 8 core principles (which seem to support my comment in the last point):
American interests come first. Always. No apologies.
    Maximum firepower and military preparedness.
Only go to war to win.
Stay loyal to your friends and suspicious of your enemies.
Keep the technological sword razor sharp.
    See the unseen.
Prepare for threats before they materialize.
Respect and support our present and past warriors.

4.) Trump believes that terrorists who are captured should be treated as military combatants, not as criminals like the Obama administration treats them.

5.) Trump makes the point that China’s manipulation of their currency has given them unfair advantage in our trade dealings with them. He says we must tax their imports to offset their currency manipulation, which will cause American companies to be competitive again and drive manufacturing back to America and create jobs here. Although he sees China as the biggest offender, he believes that America should protect itself from all foreign efforts to take our jobs and manufacturing. For example, Ford is building a plant in Mexico and Trump suggests that every part or vehicle Ford makes in Mexico be taxed 35% if they want to bring it into the U. S., which would cause companies like Ford to no longer be competitive using their Mexican operations and move manufacturing back to the U. S., once again creating jobs here.

6.) Trump wants passage of NOPEC legislation (No Oil Producing and Exporting Cartels Act – NOPEC – S.394), which would allow the government to sue OPEC for violating antitrust laws. According to Trump, that would break up the cartel. He also wants to unleash our energy companies to drill domestically (sound like Sarah Palin’s drill baby, drill?) thereby increasing domestic production creating jobs and driving domestic costs of oil and gas down while reducing dependence on foreign oil.

7.) Trump believes a secure border is critical for both security and prosperity in America. He wants to build a wall to stop illegals from entering put controls on immigration. (And he says he’ll get Mexico to pay for the wall, which many have scoffed at, but given his business successes I wouldn’t put it past him.) He also wants to enforce our immigration laws and provide no path to citizenship for illegals.

8.) Trump wants a radical change to the tax system to not only make it better for average Americans, but also to encourage businesses to stay here and foreign businesses to move here. The resulting influx of money to our nation would do wonders for our economy. He wants to make America the place to do business. He also wants to lower the death tax and the taxes on capital gains and dividends. This would put more than $1.6 trillion back into the economy and help rebuild the 1.5 million jobs we’ve lost to the current tax system. He also wants to charge companies who outsource jobs overseas a 20% tax, but for those willing to move jobs back to America they would not be taxed. And for citizens he has a tax plan that would allow Americans to keep more of what they earn and spark economic growth. He wants to change the personal income tax to:

Up to $30,000 taxed at 1%From $30,000 to $100,000 taxed at 5%From $100,000 to $1,000,000 taxed at 10%$1,000,000 and above taxed at 15%

9.) Trump wants Obamacare repealed. He says it’s a “job-killing, health care-destroying monstrosity” that “can’t be reformed, salvaged, or fixed.” He believes in allowing real competition in the health insurance marketplace to allow competition to drive prices down. He also believes in tort reform to get rid of defensive medicine and lower costs.

10.) Trump wants spending reforms in Washington, acknowledging that America spends far more than it receives in revenue. He has said he believes that if we don’t stop increasing the national debt once it hits $24 trillion it will be impossible to save this country. Even though he says we need to cut spending, he does not want to harm those on Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security. He believes that the citizens have faithfully paid in to the system to have these services available and that the American government has an obligation to fulfill its end of the bargain and provide those benefits. Therefore, he wants to build the economy up so that we have the revenue to pay those costs without cutting the benefits to the recipients. He disagrees with Democrats who think raising taxes is the answer and says that when you do that you stifle the economy. On the other hand, when you lower taxes and create an environment to help businesses they will grow, hire more workers, and those new workers will be paying taxes that become more tax revenue for the government.

11.) Trump also wants reform of the welfare state saying that America needs “a safety net, not a hammock.” He believes in a welfare to work program that would help reduce the welfare roles and encourage people to get back to work. And he wants a crackdown on entitlement fraud.

12.) Trump believes climate change is a hoax.

    13.) Trump opposes Common Core.

14.) Trump is pro-life, although he allows for an exception due to rape, incest, or the life of the mother.

15.) Trump is pro 2nd Amendment rights.

16.) Trump’s view on same-sex marriage is that marriage is between a man and a woman, but he also believes that this is a states’ rights issue, not a federal issue.

17.) Trump supports the death penalty.
