    Fifty years ago...

Fifty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial one of the most influential and memorable speeches in American history. It was a defining moment in our nation’s Civil Rights Movement.

To commemorate this occasion, and to honor Dr. King’s call to the nation to "Let Freedom Ring," I encourage all Arizonans to proudly ring their bells Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at noon, in tribute to the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As we commemorate a milestone anniversary of Dr. King’s "I Have a Dream" address, let us take time to revisit and reflect on his message. Dr. King stirred the country with his vision for a brighter future. The principles he so eloquently preached from those steps in 1963 are no less significant today. Let us carry on the legacy of that speech – and of Dr. King himself.

Today is the 50th anniversary of one of the great moments in American history: the march on Washington, when Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his moving "I Have a Dream" speech to 250,000. For more: http://www.thekingcenter.org/

SHAMEFUL. The nation's only black Senator, Tim Scott (R-SC) was not invited to speak at the rally today commemorating the 50th Anniversary of MLK's 'I Have a Dream' speech. I guess his politics were all wrong for the King family and event organizers. Maybe one day, Dr. King's dream will be realized when we can stand together on such a historic occasion and black conservatives aren't pushed out simply because they are conservative........Jennifer Burke, Social Media Director

Yesterday on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, head of the National Urban League, Marc Morial, stated that white sheets had been turned into white button-down collar shirts. Jesse Jackson compared the Constitutional Conservative grassroots movement, the TEA Party, to the Confederacy.

    Really?

I am sick of these race-baiting cowards who will not address the primary issue in the black community: a culture of death and criminal activity. Yesterday, the NAACP put on the 50th anniversary event marking the March on Washington and did not invite one single black Republican or Conservative. Why? I guess because their grievance message cannot stand against the truth.

Oh, and here is yet another example of the failure of liberal progressivism in the black community... so I guess Obama will issue an executive order banning knives. https://bit.ly/18oRfk5
