ABC's Jon Karl Swears: New Hillary Documents Are 'Positive' and Not 'Politically Damaging'
    By Scott Whitlock | February 11, 2014 | 12:02

Nothing to see here, according to ABC's Jon Karl. The Good Morning America correspondent on Tuesday told viewers that the so-called "Hillary papers," a treasure trove of quotes and documents, are a "positive portrayal" and "none of this appears to be politically damaging." [See video below. MP3 audio here http://newsbusters.org/sites/default...C-GMA-Karl.mp3 ] In contrast, Monday's NBC Nightly News worried that the papers are "brutal" and include "inflammatory excerpts."

CBS This Morning on Tuesday also offered a different take than ABC. In fact, co-host Norah O'Donnell hyped the 40 pages of notes and journals by a deceased Clinton confidant this way: "...A powerful Republican calls it a roadmap to beating Hillary Clinton in 2016." Yet Karl soothingly told viewers,
"All told, the papers offer a positive portrayal of Hillary Clinton from one of her closest friends, none of this appears to be politically damaging."

    http://www.mrctv.org/videos/abcs-jon...cally-damaging

Co-hosts George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts both joked about how the Clintons wouldn't have much interest in discussing the topic. Karl made sure to note that the documents were reported by "the conservative website Washington Free Beacon." On CBS This Morning, Nancy Cordes made sure to label "the conservative news site."

When ABC cited the liberal website Talking Points Memo, no ideological distinction was made. On May 16, 2010, Jake Tapper described it simply as a "web site." On another occasion, Linsey Davis mentioned the "online politics website."

Providing more contrast, Cordes on CBS noted that Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus "says the material is fair game if Hillary runs in 2016." In a snippet, Priebus asserted, "I think we're going to have a truck load of opposition research on Hillary Clinton."

The documents came from Diane Blair, a friend of Clinton who passed away from cancer in 2000. According to Blair's diary, Mrs. Clinton "reportedly told Blair in 1993, 'Hillary says press has big egos and no brains.'" An on-screen graphic notes the then-first lady "says press has big egos." The part about "no brains" was excised.

Alana Goodman of the Washington Free Beacon wrote:

[Clinton] told Blair that the affair did not include sex "within any real meaning" of the term and noted President Clinton "tried to manage" Monica after they broke up but things spiraled "beyond control.
Cordes included a clip of Jonathan Allen, author of HRC, a new book on the former Senator. According to Cordes, [Allen is] not sure these papers will influence voters but they will help to keep her in the spotlight."

On Monday's Nightly News, Andrea Mitchell huffed that the documents got "little notice until inflammatory excerpts were posted last night on an anti-Clinton website." A sympathetic Mitchell explained, "Hillary Clinton had no comment on a campaign already brutal two years before it's begun." http://newsbusters.org/blogs/matt-ha...linton-website

A partial transcript of the February 11 GMA segment is below:
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: We're going to go to Washington now and the private papers of a Hillary Clinton confidante. The newly released diary and documents shed new light on Clinton's thinking during what may have been the lowest point of her White House years, the Monica Lewinsky affair and ABC's Jonathan Karl has the details.

JON KARL: For decades, Diane Blair kept a diary chronicling in great detail her friendship with former First Lady Hillary Clinton right up until her death in 2000. But it remained under seal for years and was reported for the first time Monday by the conservative website Washington Free Beacon. Blair's diary portrays Mrs. Clinton as a hard-nosed political operative who is, quote, "in despair that nobody in the White House is tough and mean enough." The papers describe personal conversations Blair writes that she had with Mrs. Clinton during her time in the White House, offering new insight into Hillary Clinton's mind-set immediately after Bill Clinton admitted having an affair with white house intern Monica lewinsky.

BILL CLINTON: Indeed, I did have a relationship with Ms. Lewinsky that was not appropriate. In fact, it was wrong.

KARL: "It was a lapse," Blair writes, "but she says to his credit he tried to break it off, tried to pull away, tried to manage someone who was clearly a 'narcissistic looney toon" but it was beyond control. Blair also writes about Mrs. Clinton's frustration with critics who called her too aggressive and too political. "I'm a proud woman," Blair quotes Mrs. Clinton saying in 1996. "I know it confuses people when I change my hairdos. I know I should pretend not to have any opinions but I'm not going to. I gave up my name, got contact lenses but I'm not going to pretend to be somebody that I'm not." All told, the papers offer a positive portrayal of Hillary Clinton from one of her closest friends, none of this appears to be politically damaging, and asked to comment on it, Hillary Clinton's spokesperson is simply said no comment. George?

STEPHANOPOULOS: And they'll probably stick with that for awhile. Jon Karl, thanks very much.

    ROBIN ROBERTS: [Laughs.] You think?

Has Petraeus stepped into a Clinton minefield?

Written by Allen West on February 11, 2014

I subscribe to several military email networks and this week they’re lighting up about one very big story — the revelation that former Army General David Petraeus supports Hillary Clinton as President.

According to a New York Daily News report by Adam Edelman, “Former Army Gen. David Petraeus, who has traditionally stayed away from political endorsements, appears to be eager to support a Hillary Clinton candidacy, a new book alleges. “She’d make a tremendous President,” the former commander and CIA director reportedly says in the new book “ HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton,” by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.” “Like a lot of great leaders, her most impressive qualities were most visible during tough times,” Petraeus adds.
If I recall correctly, during a CBS 60 Minutes interview current National Security Advisor Susan Rice was asked why she did the Sunday talk show rounds after the Benghazi attack and not Secretary of State Clinton. Rice’s response was along the lines of Hillary Clinton had a very emotionally draining week.

Hmm, so you wanna be the Commander-in-Chief, but ya had a bad week and were just too exhausted to answer questions about the murder of a US Ambassador and three other Americans? Yep, that certainly is a display of impressive rigor and resilience during a tough time.

Perhaps General Petraeus was referring to the tough times of logging all those frequent flyer miles as President Obama alluded to on another 60 Minutes interview with the former Secretary of State.

I think we can all agree the “reset button” with Russia and President Vladimir Putin demonstrates great leadership and has obviously borne fruit. Not.

According to the new book, the unlikely pair became friends while Clinton was Secretary of State. Apparently, soon after taking office, Clinton invited Petraeus to her Washington home to drink wine and discuss Middle East issues. The night was so enjoyable, she invited him over again the next night to continue their chat.

So what do you think of this liaison? Seems like General Petraeus wants to be relevant again. He was a good general but failed to avoid the minefields of politics.

He should never have accepted the CIA position in the Obama administration. It’s widely known in military circles that General Wesley Clark, while not highly regarded by many retirees, is a close acquaintance of the Clintons as well. Seems there may be some “jockeying” for future positions in the event of a HRC administration. I would suggest General Petraeus beware the minefields.

He might do well to study the career trajectory of Generals Colin Powell and James Jones for additional insights.

MRC’s Dan Joseph went to the Democrats’ recent convention and asked some of them what Hillary Clinton’s biggest accomplishment were as Secretary of State. Most came up empty, a few said she traveled a lot. I like the guy that said foreign policy wasn’t really big on Obama’s agenda. (Yeah, no kidding!) I don’t think he got the irony there...

What Was the Best Thing About Hillary Clinton According to Gallup?

    March 21, 2014 By Greg Campbell

Sitting in a coffee shop the other day, I encountered a man and his friend discussing the 2016 election. Curious, I, admittedly, eavesdropped and learned that the man intended to vote for Hillary in 2016. Why? Because, as he described his “rationale”: “She could be the first woman president and I want to tell me daughter that that ceiling has been broken.”

Apparently, this is not an uncommon sentiment as a recent Gallup Poll indicates that the vast majority of Americans questioned claim that if they were to vote for Hillary, it would be simply because she’s a woman.

    According to Politico: http://www.politico.com/story/2014/0...882.html?hp=l3

Asked what the best thing about the former secretary of state being elected president would be, 18 percent of those surveyed in a Gallup poll released Friday said her breaking the gender barrier. That total was double the next answer, which was her experience and foreign policy chops.

In third place, with 8 percent, was that she would be a change from the Obama administration.
Other smaller reasons were that Bill Clinton would be in the White House again and could offer advice (2%) and that she would be “good for common people” (1%).

It’s incredible that in this day and age when we are supposed to consider the quality of character and the level of experience one is supposed to bring to a position of power that the vast majority of those polled would so candidly claim that the best thing about Hillary Clinton is her gender.

Perhaps even more disturbing, however, is the 8% that claimed that she would deserve the prestigious position because of her supposed foreign policy experience. Aside from horrendously mismanaging the State Department and facilitating the murder of four Americans at the hands of Islamic militants, there must remain one central question as we hurl towards 2016: what accomplishments, other than the aforementioned Benghazi debacle, has Hillary achieved?

... she would be a change from the Obama administration
What have these people been smoking ?? :weed:

18 percent of those surveyed in a Gallup poll released Friday said her breaking the gender barrier
    >snip<
Other smaller reasons were that Bill Clinton would be in the White House again and could offer advice (2%)
So we vote for her because she is a woman ... and brings her husband along for advice ???

    ...

I guess the liberals will stop calling us "racists" and start calling us "sexists". If the Bitch of Benghazi is elected, I want to be called "secessionist". Why don't we vote for someone because they are QUALIFIED ???

    ..

Gee yeah, vote for her BECAUSE she is a woman. Just like you voted for Obama BECAUSE he was the first black president. That worked out great, didn't it?

    ..

Except his is not the first black president. He is the first half black president. Litmus test for voters!!!

    ..

The same idiots who voted for Obama because he is black and that is most of the people. If this is the reason some people will vote for Hillary, they have no business being in the booths.

    ..

If that were true, the Allen West would be CIC, and Sarah Palin next. But it doesn't account for those people who unrealistically believe progressives promote progress

    ..

What are Hillary's most notable accomplishments? Her ability to stand by her men when they lie. She stood by Willie after he was caught getting blown by a fat intern while on the job, and lying about it. She stood by her boss, PinocchiObama when he fabricated a lie about the Benghazi attack to save his political career. If she runs for president, she should use as her theme song "Stand By Your Man" by Tammy Wynette.

    ..

She will run and will win............Democrats vote for the party and most of them want the free stuff............"I want my Obama phone".......per the fat lady from Cleveland. Who does she admire? She said "Margaret Sanger"...........Isn't she the one that started Planned Parenthood and wanted to kill all the black babies?...... yet the blacks will vote her in.........they don't know any better 'cuz they want the freebies and vote blindly.

    ..

There is no doubt in my mind that IF she is going to run then she will win, the media will fuel the hype and ignore the facts. The youth of today are taught Bill was the greatest President ever (even above Lincoln) and since they were not born during the rapists tenure in office they will be like lemmings jumping off a cliff.[/I]

Disgusting: Clinton Snared In Pedophile Ring
Will having friends in high places exempt him from the rule of law?

    Kris Zane — March 27, 2014

    http://www.westernjournalism.com/cli...edophile-ring/

    http://www.westernjournalism.com/cli...edophile-ring/

According to former child sex slave Virginia Roberts http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...eins-girl.html and a class action lawsuit against convicted billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, former President Bill Clinton was present during sex parties involving up to twenty underage girls at Epstein’s secluded island in the Caribbean. That flight records show Clinton was flown on numerous occasions to the island on Epstein’s private jet. Clinton had a close relationship with an employee of Epstein’s who compiled thousands of photos of nude young girls posed in lewd positions. And these photos were used as a catalog for Epstein to loan out his girls to powerful politicians and British royalty, including Bill Clinton.

    According to the lawsuit: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ple-times.html

…Clinton was friends with an unnamed woman who “kept images of naked underage children on her computer, helped to recruit underage children for Epstein… and photographed underage females in sexually explicit poses.”

While Epstein was indicted and jailed for his pedophilia, Bill Clinton oddly has remained unscathed, more than likely by having friends in high places.

If Bill Clinton is in fact a pedophile, will the American people demand that he be put away for a very long time so that he can’t hurt any more children? Or will having friends in high places exempt him from the rule of law?

    Time will tell.

Something smells...it has the whiff of yet another Clinton scandal.

The State Department misplaced and lost some $6 billion due to the improper filing of contracts during the past six years, mainly during the tenure of former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, according to a newly released Inspector General report.

The $6 billion in unaccounted funds poses a “significant financial risk and demonstrates a lack of internal control over the Department’s contract actions,” according to the report.

The alert, originally sent on March 20 and just released this week, warns that the missing contracting funds “could expose the department to substantial financial losses.”

The report centered on State Department contracts worth “more than $6 billion in which contract files were incomplete or could not be located at all,” according to the alert.

“The failure to maintain contract files adequately creates significant financial risk and demonstrates a lack of internal control over the Department’s contract actions,” the alert states.

The situation “creates conditions conducive to fraud, as corrupt individuals may attempt to conceal evidence of illicit behavior by omitting key documents from the contract file,” the report concluded.

The State Department’s inability to properly file its paperwork is causing most of the losses, according to the report.

The IG “found repeated examples of poor contract file administration” over the years, the report said.

The State Department’s inability to properly file its paperwork is causing most of the losses, according to the report.

The IG “found repeated examples of poor contract file administration” over the years, the report said.

Contracts related to the U.S. war in Iraq, for instance, could not be produced in 33 out of 115 instances, according to the report.

“A recent OIG audit of the closeout process for contracts supporting the U.S. Mission in Iraq revealed that contracting officials were unable to provide 33 of 115 contract files requested in accordance with the audit sampling plan,” the report states.

The value of the 33 “missing files” totaled $2.1 billion, according to the report.

Additionally, 48 of the 82 contract files that were produced “did not contain all of the documentation required by” internal regulations, according to the report.

The 48 “incomplete files” were worth another $2.1 billion, according to the report.

A further audit of the department’s Bureau of African Affairs found that administrators “were unable to provide complete contract administration files for any of the eight contracts that were reviewed.”

These contracts were worth $34.8 million.

The investigation also found instances in which a company owned by the spouse of a contractor employee was not properly documented.

“In the case of work undertaken by OIG’s Office of Investigations, one investigation revealed that a contract file did not contain documentation reflecting that modifications and task orders were awarded to the company owned by the spouse of a contractor employee performing as a Contract Specialist for the contract,” the report states.

The contract in question was worth $52 million.

The report outlines several other instances in which contracts worth great values were mishandled.

“In a number of recent OIG inspections, OIG identified contract file management deficiencies. For example, COR files for a $2.5 million contract lacked status reports and a tally of the funds expended and remaining on the contract,” the report states.

The State Department appeared to agree with the IG’s recommendations in a March 28 response and said that it intends to ensure that contracts are completed properly.

ABC Has Taken Their Obsession With The Clintons To The Stratosphere
ABC on Chelsea Clinton's Pregnancy: 'Move Over, Prince George'; U.S. Has New 'Royal'

    By Scott Whitlock | April 18, 2014 | 10:35

According to the liberal network journalists, being part of a Democratic family makes you "royalty." Reporters on ABC, CBS and NBC gushed over the announcement that Chelsea Clinton is pregnant. Good Morning America's Bianna Golodryga enthused, "Move over, Prince George, though. This morning, Americans have their own royal, or, rather, presidential baby, to look forward to. "

On CBS This Morning, Jan Crawford was almost as excited, hyping, "...This is not as quite as big of a deal as when Prince William and Kate Middleton said they were expecting. But in the U.S., I guess you could say political dynasties might be the thing we've got closest to royalty."

    MP3 audio here. http://newsbusters.org/sites/default...a-Crawford.mp3

    http://www.mrctv.org/videos/abc-chel...-has-new-royal

    http://www.mrctv.org/videos/abc-chel...-has-new-royal

ABC previously labeled another Democratic family, the Kennedys, as "American royalty."

CBS co-host Gayle King fawned, "But you would have thought a member of my family had announced she was pregnant." She asked colleague Charlie Rose, "Are you excited?" He replied, "I actually am because I know them."

Compared to the "royalty" description, however, Rose was restrained, calling the Clintons "one of the country's most powerful political families."

On GMA, George Stephanopoulos heralded, "We all watched Chelsea Clinton grow up in the White House. " In Stephanopoulos's case, this is literally true. As a former Democratic operative, he worked for Bill Clinton in the White House.

On NBC's Today, Savannah Guthrie touted "one of the country's most prominent families."

Reporter Andrea Mitchell reminiced like a proud relative:
ANDREA MITCHELL: Chelsea grew up in front of our eyes, from the governor's mansion in Arkansas to the White House years. At her parents' side as they traveled the world and campaigned at home. More recently, she also joined the family business, a full partner in their foundation. But always right beside her mother in good times and bad.
As the Media Research Center's Brent Baker pointed out on Thursday night, on December 12, 2012, the NBC Nightly News allowed 33 seconds to the announcement of Jenna Bush Hager's pregnancy. ABC's World News and the CBS Evening News skipped it.

Since Thursday, the three networks have devoted 16 minutes and 48 seconds of coverage to Chelsea Clinton's pregnancy. On Thursday night, NBC, CBS and ABC offered five minutes and 17 seconds of coverage. The network morning shows devoted another 11 minutes and 31 seconds on Friday.

A transcript of the April 18 GMA segment is below:
    7: 16

    3 minutes and 9 seconds

ABC GRAPHIC: Baby on Board for Chelsea Clinton: Bill and Hillary to Be Grandparents

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: We're going to switch gears now and go to that big baby announcement. We all watched Chelsea Clinton grow up in the White House. Now, after some very public nudges from her very famous parents, she is having a child of her own. And our GMA weekend anchor Bianna Golodryga here with more on the happy news. Good morning, Bianna.

BIANNA GOLODRYGA: Hey. Good morning, George. I'm officially on baby watch this week. Move over, Prince George, though. This morning, Americans have their own royal, or, rather, presidential baby, to look forward to. Chelsea Clinton making the announcement that she and husband, Marc, are expecting at an event discussing efforts to advance women and girls, an event attended by her husband and beaming parents, soon-to-be grandparents. Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton making a surprise announcement, Thursday.

CHELSEA CLINTON: Marc and I are excited that we have our first child arriving later this year.

GOLODRYGA: The 34-year-old and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, who attended Stanford together, married four years ago.

CLINTON: And I certainly feel all the better, whether it's a girl or a boy, that she or he will grow up in a world with so in many strong, young female leaders.

GOLODRYGA: The future grandparents positively elated by the news. The former secretary of state tweeting, "Bill Clinton and I are thrilled that Chelsea and Marc are expecting their first child." And the former president also tweeting, "excited to add a new line to my Twitter bio, grandfather-to-be." It's no secret that the Clintons have been pining for a grandchild. Just last month, Jimmy Kimmel jokingly put the former First Lady on the hot seat.

JIMMY KIMMEL: You and the president will have another child? Anymore children?

HILLARY CLINTON: Well, no. But I wouldn't mind --

    KIMMEL: Let's get into it.

HILLARY CLINTON: I wouldn't mind one of those grandchildren that I hear so much about.
GOLODRYGA: And it was three years ago that her father also put on the pressure.

BILL CLINTON: I would like to have a happy wife and she won't be unless she's a grandmother.
GOLODRYGA: For eight years, the world watched Chelsea Clinton grow up in the White House and blossom into a young woman, even amid scandal. And when it comes to bedtime reading, grandpa may have picked out his material.

BILL CLINTON: My daughter, when she was a little girl, loved the Curious George stories. I would always tell her a story every night before she would go to bed.

GOLODRYGA: As for Chelsea, she admits she has got big shoes to fill.
CHELSEA CLINTON: I just hope that I will be as good a mom to my child, and hopefully my children, as my mom was to me.
GOLODRYGA: They really are such a close family. Of course, social media was on fire. Ellen DeGeneres tweeting, "Chelsea Clinton is going to have a baby. No reports if it's a boy or girl. But it just did win a seat in the Illinois general assembly."

GOLODRYGA: Dr. Oz also weighing in. Of course, he's a new grandfather. He says congratulations to Chelsea Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton. If you need advice on grandparenthood, I'm becoming an expert." And some unsolicited advice from me as an only child to another only child, be prepared for many, many, many parental visits.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, after all of the hints, yeah.

    ROBERTS: Exactly.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Get a baby. Get a baby. Thanks, Bianna.
