i'll remember him as a man who lived lavishly at the taxpayers expense while americans did without necessities, he didn't seem to feel remorse that 4 americans who were being murdered in benghazi while he went to bed, who stirred the fires of racial discrimination, who disregarded the constitution, scandalized the office of president, taxed people and forced them to get obamacare which he was too good to join....and I could go on and on

Obama: Do As I Say, Not As I Do
By Joseph Curl - Sunday, August 4, 2013

President Obama took to the road last week to lecture Americans, as he is wont to do.

“We’ve tolerated a little more inequality for the sake of a more dynamic, more adaptable economy,” he lectured in Galesburg, Ill. “That’s all for the good. But that idea has always been combined with a commitment to equality of opportunity to upward mobility — the idea that no matter how poor you started, if you’re willing to work hard and discipline yourself and defer gratification, you can make it, too. That’s the American idea.”

And that’s the problem. The president says the words, but he doesn’t believe the words.

First, let’s acknowledge this: The Harvard-educated community organizer from Chicago gives good speeches. Heck, that’s what made him president. And with the economy still foundering, Obamacare on hold, immigration and gun-control — his two big second-term action items — all but dead, he’s back to the one thing he does well: Give speeches.

And let’s acknowledge this, too: He’s dead right. America is the land of opportunity, a place of grand promise where hard work, or a lucky idea at just the right time (think Pet Rock), can make you a millionaire. Mr. Obama summed it all up in Galesburg: “Here in America, we’ve never guaranteed success — that’s not what we do. More than some other countries, we expect people to be self-reliant. Nobody is going to do something for you.”

Nailed it; exactly right — America in a nutshell: Well said.

But the president doesn’t really believe his pretty words, and that’s virtually indisputable. Proof? “If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen,” he said in a momentous insight into his true beliefs during the 2012 presidential campaign.

That is what the president really believes. If you’re successful in America, it wasn’t really you — your hard work, perseverance, commitment — that made that happen.

More, the president deeply believes that you should be ashamed if you’ve achieved success. Sure, he wants you to “pay your fair share” to the government — which in his view is half of everything you earn, at least — but he also wants you to feel horrible for having the audacity to succeed. And this from the man who paid just 20 percent of his income in federal taxes (yes, if you’re keeping track at home, less than his secretary).

While his premise — work hard, succeed; loaf, fail — is spot on, he moves on in his Harvard mind to conclude, nonsensically, that succeeding while others fail is inherently unjust. “This growing inequality is … morally wrong,” he said in Galesburg.

And of course, that’s not his fault: “Over the past couple of years, in particular, Washington hasn’t just ignored this problem; too often, Washington has made things worse. … Washington has taken its eye off the ball. And I am here to say this needs to stop. This needs to stop,” he said to applause from his sycophantic supporters as they snapped pictures with their free Obamaphones.

Said by the man who runs Washington — the biggest insider in the nation’s capital. And said by the man who flies in his barber from Chicago for a new fade, who has suits hand made by a private tailor, whose daughters vacation in Cancun and private resorts in the Bahamas, whose wife suns it up in Florida one day, then hits the slopes in Aspen the next — all on the taxpayers’ dime.

Look, no one made him run for president. Frankly, it should be an honor to serve Americans as president, and with the job comes nonstop work and complete sacrifice. Always, though, it should be an honor.

But for first lady Michelle Obama, the White House is “a prison.” For the president, the job seems a burden, and certainly cuts into his time on the golf course. And while they’re more than happy to ask Americans to sacrifice, they have no such plans to do so themselves.

The first family couldn’t care less about that. Michelle will still take her million-dollar vacation with family friends to Spain, and they’re set to hit Martha’s Vineyard this week, where they’ll stay in an $8 million house that costs $75,000 a week to rent. Along for the trip — 75 staffers (again, your dime).

But get this: the 10-acre acre estate on the tony island is owned by one of Chicago’s wealthiest corporate financiers, reported Michelle Malkin. The “deep-pocketed donor and private-equity whiz … earned his money in much the same way the demonized Mitt Romney did: Through corporate restructuring and rescuing debt-burdened companies.”

Like the president’s low tax rate, all perfectly legal. And one could even argue, truly American. But the irony is deep: The president spews disgust toward just this type of entrepreneur — as he did toward Mr. Romney throughout the 2012 campaign — but is more than happy to luxuriate in that very largesse.

No, it is you that needs to “defer gratification.” Not the president.

And always remember: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

The question that needs to be asked of Obama (but no one will) is how expects Americans to improve their status in life or achieve upward mobility on a part time job.

    ..

Well said. And the bottom line on the first Affirmative Action President's perceptions of his situation. All of his problems boil down to the fact that he was utterly unequipped for the job. He truly had no idea of what the job entailed, neither did his wife.

Which leads me to a curious thought, since he clearly does not want to do the work involved with integrity, backbone and hard work.
Did he only want the job so he could put "first half African American President" on his resume? Isn't that kinda racist? Specially when, whether he likes it or not, he has set the cause of African Americans in high office back 20 years, at least.

Eventually even the lowest information voter who finds himself without a job, will figure out that Mr. Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like a genius at the Presidency. The Obama Depression is coming whether anyone owns that truth or not.

    ..

Teach a man to fish, and he will never go hungry.
Give a man somebody else's fish, and he will vote for you.

That is how BHO got elected.

    ..

Stop and think a few minutes. Did you vote for Obama in 2008 because he was "Truly Qualified" or because you gave him the benefit of doubt about his Qualifications because he could be the first "Black President" of the United States of America? Ergo, he is the First Affirmative Action President". It is very simple. Even a liberal such as yourself can figure that out.

When President Obama talked about slowing the rise of the oceans, we didn’t think he’d just do away with the Atlantic. But during the celebrity president’s Tuesday night appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” he relocated Charleston, Savannah and Jacksonville to the Gulf. We’re assuming that’s the Gulf of Mexico, but who knows?

    Madison Montana!! @tlmontana

Mr. Prez: "Charleston, South Carolina and Jacksonville, Florida, both in the Gulf Of Mexico"

If we don’t deepen our ports all along the Gulf — places like Charleston, South Carolina, or Savannah, Georgia, or Jacksonville, Florida — if we don’t do that, those ships are going to go someplace else. And we’ll lose jobs. Businesses won’t locate here.

y Leno ripped Barack Obama tonight in his monologue as the president waited to come on The Tonight Show.

Suggested vacation reading for Obama: 'Catch-22'
    August 09, 2013 4:35 am • AMY GOODMAN

As the Obama family heads to their annual summer vacation on Martha's Vineyard, perhaps the president should take along a copy of "Catch-22" for some beach reading. Joseph Heller's classic, satirical anti-war novel, published in 1961 and based on his experiences as a bombardier in World War II, is sadly relevant today, as Obama's wars, in Afghanistan and beyond, drag on.

Heller's title refers to a fictional military rule that said you could get out of military duty if you were crazy, but if you requested relief from military duty, you were clearly sane, so must serve. He wrote, "There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that concern for one's own safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr (a pilot in the novel) was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions."

Barack Obama ran as the anti-war alternative when he was a primary challenger to Hillary Clinton, whose nomination as Democratic presidential candidate in 2008 was widely held to be inevitable. It was his Oct. 2, 2002, speech in Chicago where he declared his opposition to the imminent invasion of Iraq, calling it "a dumb war. A rash war. A war based not on reason but on passion, not on principle but on politics." As a U.S. senator, he pledged to filibuster any bill that granted retroactive immunity to large telecommunication corporations that cooperated with the Bush administration's warrantless wiretapping of U.S. citizens. And on his first day in office, you might recall, he vowed to close the military prison at Guantanamo Bay.

Has Obama ended the war in Iraq? Certainly not for the Iraqis. July was one of the bloodiest months there since the height of the insurgency against the U.S.-imposed Iraqi government. So far this year, more than 4,000 Iraqis have been killed, mostly by bomb blasts that targeted civilians, and close to 10,000 have been injured, in attacks by Sunnis against Shias or vice versa. On July 22, a military assault was launched against the Abu Ghraib prison, made notorious 10 years ago by the shocking photos of abuse of prisoners at the hands of their U.S. captors. Five hundred prisoners were freed in the course of the attack, including, reportedly, many senior al-Qaida leaders. Transparency International ranked Iraq the seventh-most corrupt government on the planet, narrowly edging out Sudan, Afghanistan, North Korea and Somalia. Thirteen U.S. soldiers were killed in Afghanistan in July, including Spc. Caryn Nouv, a 29-year-old mother of two.

Obama's embrace of the surveillance state is now well known, following revelations from National Security Agency whistle-blower Edward Snowden. It was in December 2007 when Obama's Senate office issued a press release stating, "Senator Obama unequivocally opposes giving retroactive immunity to telecommunications companies and has cosponsored Senator Dodd's efforts to remove that provision from the FISA bill. Granting such immunity undermines the constitutional protections Americans trust the Congress to protect. Senator Obama supports a filibuster of this bill, and strongly urges others to do the same." Months later, not only didn't he filibuster the bill, he voted for it. Now, President Obama is refusing to meet with President Vladimir Putin in Russia next month, since Putin granted Snowden temporary asylum there.

Then there's Guantanamo. The hunger strike among up to 100 prisoners there, out of the total of 166, has just passed the six-month mark. The Pentagon is force-feeding many of them. Eighty-six have been cleared for release. A majority of the 166 have never been charged, with some held that way for more than 11 years. Despair is said to be rampant among them, so much so that they would rather starve themselves to death than endure more. "I don't want these individuals to die," Obama said in April. So he has them violently force-fed to keep them alive, uncharged, with no end in sight. Even if the Obama administration releases two prisoners, a plan press secretary Jay Carney revealed last Friday, there will still be 164 prisoners languishing there.

Before heading on vacation, Commander in Chief Obama gave a rousing speech to Marines at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Elsewhere, Pfc. Bradley Manning sat for another day of his sentencing hearing. Heller's protagonist in "Catch-22," Captain Yossarian, holds a wounded comrade, named Snowden, coincidentally, who dies in his arms. The experience cements Yossarian's opposition to war. Bradley Manning, too, went to war, and hated what he saw. He took action, leaking documents to spark a national debate.

Heller's depiction of war — grim and stark — was fiction, though based on his own experience. Obama's wars, his drone strikes, his war on whistle-blowers, are all too real.
