Nope, he trumps. And he doesn't have to have the health plan he's recommending, because after all....he's president. :

The Vineyard's part of MA so it's not that far from DC by plane. A plane flight here is a heck of a lot closer then vacations that other presidents have taken with the same amount of staff to further destinations.
Each time a president has come to The Vineyard, it generates a nice chunk of change for the state.

Same could be said for the jaunts taken by corporate America (by many different corps and more often, giving a lot more stimulus to many different local economies) but they are looked upon as 'greedy'....therefore, most of those ceased and everybody lost.

Greedy corporate types aren't going to generate souvenir sales that are already through the roof here as well as people coming to the area just hoping to get a glimpse of the president. That's more hotel rentals, restaurant patrons, recreation, souvenirs that wouldn't even be a thought if it was a business person coming to the island.
The barage of media will all require lodging and food as well.

That's one event in one area......corporate jaunts were many areas all year round effecting thousands.......oh yeah, and the illegal t-shirt guy not paying taxes on his wares didn't get much corporate business from it.

The t-shirt is picture is in a storefront in Chilmark. A local paper ran a pic this week showing the shops filled with souvenirs. It's like this everytime a president or dignitary comes to the island. This is no different then the usual. Yes it is one event in one area but it's adding a windfall to the economy in that area. The greedy corporates don't generate any cottage industry off of where they vacation and their visit stimulates the pockets of those that buy from and that's it. A presidential visit impacts an area in an entirely different way. I don't want to get into a conversation about greedy businessmen because I think we've had it before and agreed, lol.
I'm just saying, the president's visit will be good for the people on the island and that he deserves a week away with the family.

Wrong, business travel & entertainment stimulate more in many areas. Hotel, restaurant, airlines, local entertainment, local bar, etc.........

This is one area/island that every now and then gets a boost....corporate travel/perks/conventions was big business for our entire economy on a regular basis.......gone! Keep telling the wealthy and corporate to stop spending money! Jobs will continue to dry up, everywhere, not just one small hoity-toity island.

No, not wrong in the context in which I said it. Obama has a bigger impact and draw then a corporate business person (as in singular)...one on one. Of course a group of greedy corporates would have an economic impact but we're talking one person. People don't come out to buy <insert greedy corporate business person's name here> souvenirs, hope to get a peek, etc...
That being said, this is about Obama going on vacation and not some random dirtbag business person.
The entire state gets the tax money, not just one "hoity-toity" little island as you call it.
Sure The Vineyard has a wealthy side but there a great number of regular people that rely on tourism to make a living. I've spent quite a few summers slumming with the regulars. lol.
The bottom line is that he has the right to vacation wherever he chooses and if it helps local business, that cant be a bad thing. He's paying for his vacation with personal funds, not corporate. The protection he is given is required by law.
I've seen the same type of entourages in Kennebunkport summer after summer for years with the Bush familiies when I've visited my parents who lived close to there.

ETA: We're not going to agree on this one but I still understand your point and love bantering with you.
