That’s right. And its not even about what that which these politicians have power over actually looks like. It matters not that they are reducing America and its prosperity. What matters is the political class stays in power. If it takes tearing down a prosperous and free American and remaking it into a socialist European like nation to do so, the political class will jump on board IF at the end of the day they think they preserve and increase their power.

Power and staying in power is the only goal of all this stuff. While Obama and his leftist buddies are doing things that reveal that quite clearly, the strategy and the efforts of the political class to preserve and stay in power is not new to Obama.

That’s right. Law-abiding, uninsured Americans would be fined if they didn’t submit to the Obamacare prescription. Law-breaking border-crossers, visa-overstayers, and deportation fugitives would be spared.

A space alien who landed in this country and spent some time observing the effects of American policies toward illegals could be excused for concluding that Mexico had defeated the USA in a war, and was in the process of colonizing its conquests with the help of a puppet government.

I wonder how many LEGAL US citizens died waiting for liver transplants, while the criminal illegal alien “Jose Lopez” received not one, but TWO taxpayer-funded liver transplants? This is sickening. I have ZERO compassion for “Jose” and his ilk, and my message to them is “Go the hell back to whatever Third World cesspool you came from, and DON’T COME BACK, YA’ FRIGGIN’ THIEVES!!”

This is not about health care anymore, as if it ever was. This is about Obama’s ego. He does not care what is in the bill, only that his orders are complied with. He has decreed that health care be passed. So let it be written, so let it be done.


Just wait until the pandemic, when illegals will get free care ahead of taxpaying legal citizens!

Taxpayer-funded, unreimbursed medical outlays for health care provided to the state’s illegal alien population amount to about 2 billion dollars a year, for education, incarceration, and health care.

Each Florida taxpayer pays around $1800 a year for illegal alien services (from a 2005 report).By 2010 that cost is estimated to double to over $3000/year.

Thanks, bleeding hearts in Congress (including McCain),for this burden you have given us.

I’m sure the legal immigrants will love losing their health care while the illegals get it instead. Why have an immigration policy at all if all the spoils go to those who break the laws.

Do any of the cost estimates for this bill include costs for illegals from all over the world coming here for free health care? Even those who have health care, like Canadians, will come here for treatment if they can’t get the latest drugs or have to wait too long for care in their own countries.

With our porous borders and no restrictions for pre-existing conditions, anyone in the world with a serious or terminal illness and the means to get here, will come for free health care. By the time they get here they’ll be in bad shape, so they’ll probably get moved to the head of the line for fear of bad publicity. Just imagine the cries of racism and profiling if an illegal alien dies while waiting for care behind U.S. citizens with less advanced illnesses — never mind how long the citizens have been waiting. This bill is a disaster for the citizens of this country.

Why would an illegal alien want to become a citizen? It has gotten to the point that an illegal has MORE rights than a citizen. If you’re illegal, you won’t have to pay for health insurance but you can still get all the benefits of free health care.

In addition, the Supreme Court ruled that using a fake social security number is not identity theft if the number was picked at random. So if you need a service that requires an SS number, you can just make it up and there are no consequences.

I don’t see a downside to being an illegal. There’s nothing to stop you from voting or getting government benefits right now. And if Obama and the democrats get their way, there will be an upside to being an illegal. You won’t have to purchase health insurance or pay fines to get free care, and they’ll probably ignor you if you don’t pay taxes. So what good is amnesty? I ask again, why would an illegal alien want to become a citizen?

That bit about about the tonsils needs to be repeated endlessly on the airwaves and the internet until every doctor in America has seen it. Demonizing doctors along with insurance companies and pharmaceuticals is not a good strategy.Obama is his own worst enemy and shoots himself in the foot every time he opens his mouth without TOTUS and this is a perfect example.

I can’t believe the MSM will cover for this guy much longer. Even they must be starting to see that he is a complete fraud and has a very limited understanding of the country is so intent on changing. Members Who Vote for Government-Run Health Care Should Enroll Themselves

I recently introduced a resolution urging Members of Congress who vote for government-run health care to automatically enroll themselves in the government-run plan.

Over the past few weeks, Members of Congress and the American people have come to know the details of the Administration’s proposed health care plan. Call it whatever you like, I believe this proposal is nothing more than government-run health care. The first question from the AP was why doesn't Obama take a stand on his policy preferences, given that it is his deadline.

He responded with a long rambling speech on the problems before saying he wanted to limit deductions for coverage on the "wealthy". He continued to play the class card by saying he didn't want the middle class taxed. That sounds good, but is it realistic? He then tossed it back to Congress without a firm commitment to any strategy. He said it's his job, but doesn't want his name on a specific proposal. I thought this ws about leadership? Evidently, not from him. He's content to follow and won't truly step up.

He then ate up significant question time by rambling on the problems, again.

First answer grade: F- the minus for wasting so much question time.

Second question: Why the rush?

He's rushing because of familes - het gets letters. Let's inject more stories personal here. His 2nd point: If you don't set deadlines, nothing happens. People have time to think and decide things are working for them. He wants to take advantage of the stars being aligned by rushing.

Will not sign a bill that increases the debt, or doesn't solve health care cost inflation. He claims health care is cheaper with a better result elsewhere according to experts, but gives no example. WHY not talk about Canada, or Britain? This is just talk.

Chuck Todd - must everyone be covered, perhaps with a mandate?

Talks about Single Payer - oh great! He claims proposed plans will cover 97 - 98 percent. If we re-design certain elements of system, everything will be paid for. No specifics. This is the typical pie in the sky government rhetoric.

I am not bashing Republicans. Yeah, right. Credits Grassley and others, maybe he should check with Nancy Pelosi on this question. Some Democrats have different ideas and concerns, medicare cost in certain communities, but resolution can add cost. Doesn't that mean there will still be problems?

Next Question: What about sacrifices required?

They will give up paying for things that don't make them healthier. Who says? Obama and some panel, I guess. Dances around defensive medicine issues due to lawsuits. Doesn't address it. People need to ask themselves if they want the government telling them what "works". Clearly choices will go away. Everyone will need to be more discriminating consumers. I guess because the government dictates it?

Talks again of deficit and debt. Not on topic. More wsting of question time for debateable sales points without rebuttal. Blames Bush, talks economy, yadda, yadda. non-responsive.

Talks about need for massive government reform and spending cuts. WHy not concentrate on those first? That would make the most sense.

Q from Chip Reid on Medicare: Cuts in Medicare without specifics. Be specific. Congress must accept or reject outside board recommendations - up or down vote on package. Drugs cmpanies are only stepping up because there's more than $80 billion dollars of waste. Wow, bash your own support for the program?? Provides no specifics.

I feel like he a cars salesman selling me a lemon. Keeps going on and on like thats going to convince me. If the plan is so great, he shouldn't have to come out daily to convince us.

The health care bill scares me and one of the reasons is they are trying to push through another bill before people can read it.
From the little bit that I did read, they plan on insuring illegal immigrants and they plan on health care cuts for the senior citizens that have paid into medicare all their lives. That is definitely not fair and isn't right.
There are so many other things that I've read that are really frightening.
This bill is set up by someone who's own wife worked at a hospital that sent the poor patients away to clinics.

I want Obama's health care plan or the health care plan of the people in the Senate. They are not getting on this health care plan. They aren't that stupid.

Well, the tone was much milder than the paper's passionate "fact-check" defenses of candidate Barack Obama in 2008 -- but Robert Pear did file a brief fact-check Thursday on dubious health-care claims made by Obama during Wednesday night's prime-time news conference: "Experts Dispute Some Points in Obama Health Care Talk."

Here's the toughest part:

The president continued to take credit for deficit reduction by making a claim that has been challenged by many experts.

“If we had done nothing, if you had the same old budget as opposed to the changes we made,” the deficit over the next 10 years would be $2.2 trillion greater, the president said.

In fact, $1.5 trillion of those “savings” are mainly based on an assumption that the United States would have had as many troops in Iraq in 10 years as it did when Mr. Obama took office. But before leaving office, President George W. Bush signed an agreement with Baghdad mandating the withdrawal of all American forces within three years.

So Mr. Obama is claiming credit for not spending money that, under the policy he inherited from Mr. Bush, would never have been spent in the first place.

By the Times' usual standards of Obama coverage, that last line is positively disrespectful.

A health economist warns that President Obama's government-run healthcare plan may result in denying care to a significant number of Americans, especially senior citizens.





Conservative opponents of President Obama's healthcare plan have been arguing that a government takeover of healthcare will allow Washington bureaucrats to use "comparative effectiveness research" to dictate to doctors which treatments they should prescribe and how much those treatments should cost. Critics say this will lead to rationing of care.

In the medical journal The Lancet (January 2009 [PDF]) Obama's special health policy advisor Ezekiel Emanuel wrote that if healthcare has to be rationed, he prefers the "complete lives system," which "discriminates against older people."

Dr. Devon Herrick, a senior fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis, says Emanuel believes young adults should be given preferential care over seniors because they have more years of their life ahead of them.

"I guess the implication of that is if you're older, you will be assumed to have lived a complete life; whereas if you're younger, you'd have yet to live a complete life," Herrick suggests. "So in a way I kind of see it as a method to ration care to the elderly, but trying to use an ethicist's view to justify it."

In an article written more than a decade ago [PDF] for the Hastings Center Report, Dr. Emanuel suggested that health services should not be guaranteed to "individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens." He said "an obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia."

'Obamacare' targets young, healthy, wealthy

A Florida congresswoman says the healthcare legislation being pushed by President Obama sends a blunt message to senior citizens: "drop dead."

On Monday, President Obama said that "the single biggest threat to our fiscal stability" and "the single thing that could drive us into long-term staggering and difficult debt" is Medicare and Medicaid.

Obama told Jim Lehrer of PBS that he wants to "stop providing $177 billion worth of subsidies to the insurance companies for a Medicare Advantage program that offers no additional benefits to seniors, compared to regular old Medicare."

Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite (R-Florida) says the House healthcare bill essentially tells senior citizens to "drop dead." (Listen to audio report)

"Despite their promise to care for our seniors, Democrats have decided that it's too expensive to care for my senior constituents and everyone else's constituents," she contends. "This bill would cut an additional $156 billion from the Medicare Advantage program in order to pay for the government expansion of healthcare for the young, the healthy, and the wealthy."

Brown-Waite argues the cut in Medicare Advantage is not the first attack on senior citizens this year. She notes that in March the Obama administration announced that Social Security recipients would not receive a cost-of-living increase.
