The differences being ... Springsteen defaulted on a contract after it was signed and monies changed hands due to a situation that was already in place when the contracts were signed. . The bakers simply declined to enter into a contract to bake a couples cake. Springsteen cost his fans money by his refusal ( fees that won't be refunded, travel arrangements, ect ) and their is no one else that can provide a comparable "service" ( a Springsteen cover band isn't a Springsteen concert. ) The engaged couple could go to any number of bakeries to get a cake ( in fact - they went to several bakeries until they DID find someone who refused, then promptly filed a suit. )

Obama Administration Says Men Entering Girl’s Locker Rooms is a Civil Right.
    Nancy Hayes — April 14, 2016

As federal agencies are taking aim at cutting funding to states that pass so-called “bathroom bills,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest invoked the civil rights battles of past generations in states that passed or are considering a similar law.

“State’s like Tennessee and to a certain extent North Carolina and Mississippi have a long history — even over the last couple of generations — of working through questions of civil rights. President Obama has talked on a number of occasions about the important progress that our country has made with regard to civil rights,” Earnest said. “This is a good illustration that the fight for civil rights is not over.”

What? So now a transgender or even a man who dresses as a transgender and enters a girl’s bathroom is a “fight for civil rights.” Are you kidding me? This insanity needs to stop!

The state laws allow private businesses to set their own policies for public restrooms, and restrict local government from passing anti-discrimination laws on public restroom use.

“Demanding equality for every American and ensuring those Americans are not singled out for targeting because of their sex or their race what their last name is or their religion or who they love or who they are is a struggle that continues,” Earnest said. “The president, every time, is going to be on the side of equality and fairness and justice for every American.”

States could face a multi-front problem in getting federal money for schools, highways and public housing.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Fox, a former Charlotte mayor, first raised the prospect of yanking funds from North Carolina, the first state to pass a “bathroom bill.” Meanwhile, the Department of Education and the Department of Housing and Urban Development are also reportedly reviewing federal funding to North Carolina.

Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery warned that if Tennessee passed such a law, it could lose $1.2 billion in Title IX funding from the federal government.

I say…bring it! If Obama and his administration want to cut state funds because they INSIST on having gender-neutral bathrooms in every state, then it’s time for the states to stand up! Gender-neutral bathrooms are a bad idea. Just ask anyone with a daughter who has been violated in a woman’s bathroom.

States need to stop this insanity now! Businesses shouldn’t be subject to criminal penalties from forbidding transgenders or transsexuals into a woman’s washroom, shower or locker room. This isn’t about discrimination. This is about “local control”. The federal government shouldn’t be holding states “hostage” for such stupidity. What’s next bathrooms for pedophiles?

Following the passage of “religious liberty” legislation in several states – namely North Carolina and Mississippi – there has been a lot of talk regarding gender identity and the use of public restrooms.

Those in the transgender community claim that making a trans-woman use a men’s bathroom because she has male parts can be dangerous and lead to assaults. And their opponents object to the notion that a man could say he “identifies” as a woman in order to prey on young girls.

One Washington mom set out to prove her point by playing a little dress-up – and her post has been shared nearly 30,000 times on Facebook:

Much attention has been drawn to the hypocrisy of liberal celebrities boycotting North Carolina for its so-called “bathroom” law. Whatever your opinion of the law, these celebrities have been anything but consistent on what generates outrage from them.

Let’s look at a few of them.

Bruce Springsteen. Springsteen canceled a tour stop he had planned in the state on April 10th. Springsteen hasn’t canceled his gig in Italy, which doesn’t allow same sex marriage, set for July 16th. Springsteen also operates under Sony’s label, which has operations in and does business with countries that jail and even kill homosexuals.

Will he be dropping them? Unlikely.

Bryan Adams Bryan Adams joined the boycott, stating on his website “I cannot in good conscience perform in a state where certain people are being denied their civil rights due to their sexual orientation.

In the past, Adams has performed in Syria, Lebanon, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Do I even need to tell you how gays are treated in those countries?

Michael Moore. This is my favorite of the hypocrites. Look at what he tweeted out, and the response to it which points out a whole other level of hypocrisy…

Michael Moore can do business with whoever he wants. Why can’t a few bakers?

Loretta Lynch: Sex identification More Important Than Women’s Privacy Rights
    Steve hale May 11, 2016

Loretta Lynch, who heads Obama’s Injustice Department declares the rights of just .003% of the population trumps the rights of the 99.997% of American’s privacy rights. Talk about the war on women. And remember, there is no age limit on the need to use a bathroom, so we are not just talking about fully grown women that don’t want perverts perusing their lady parts but also little children who are forced to go potty in the same place as full grown men.

“This action is about a great deal more than just bathrooms.”

“This is about the dignity and respect we accord our fellow citizens and the laws that we, as a people and as a country, have enacted to protect them – indeed, to protect all of us. And it’s about the founding ideals that have led this country – haltingly but inexorably – in the direction of fairness, inclusion and equality for all Americans.”
For private businesses, this could be a huge issue. Let’s use Target as an example. Let’s say a mother takes her two young girls to the bathroom and while they are in the stalls taking care of business, a guy in a dress slips his phone under the wall separating the stalls and records on of the girls. He is caught and the find revealing pictures of the 6 year old girl. The parents can then sue Target for not providing adequate security. They would in all likelihood win the suit.

You could say they deserve it because of the store policy, but what you have to understand is that a company that is being forced to let men into the women’s bathroom are equally liable. The stores would be forced to hire bathroom monitors, who would watch what happens in the bathrooms every hour the store is open, except when they are on the picket line demanding $15 dollars an hour.

The problem with liberals is that they want to force everyone to be as godless and perverted as they are.

U.S. Directs Public Schools to Allow Transgender Access to Restrooms
By JULIE HIRSCHFELD DAVIS and MATT APUZZOMAY 12, 2016

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is planning to issue a sweeping directive telling every public school district in the country to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms that match their gender identity.

A letter to school districts will go out Friday, adding to a highly charged debate over transgender rights in the middle of the administration’s legal fight with North Carolina over the issue. The declaration — signed by Justice and Education department officials — will describe what schools should do to ensure that none of their students are discriminated against.

It does not have the force of law, but it contains an implicit threat: Schools that do not abide by the Obama administration’s interpretation of the law could face lawsuits or a loss of federal aid.

The move is certain to draw fresh criticism, particularly from Republicans, that the federal government is wading into local matters and imposing its own values on communities across the country that may not agree. It represents the latest example of the Obama administration using a combination of policies, lawsuits and public statements to change the civil rights landscape for gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender people.

After supporting the rights of gay people to marry, allowing them to serve openly in the military and prohibiting federal contractors from discriminating against them, the administration is wading into the battle over bathrooms and siding with transgender people.

“No student should ever have to go through the experience of feeling unwelcome at school or on a college campus,” John B. King Jr., the secretary of the Department of Education, said in a statement. “We must ensure that our young people know that whoever they are or wherever they come from, they have the opportunity to get a great education in an environment free from discrimination, harassment and violence.”

Courts have not settled the question of whether the nation’s sex discrimination laws apply in matters of gender identity. But administration officials, emboldened by a federal appeals court ruling in Virginia last month, think they have the upper hand. This week, the Justice Department and North Carolina sued each other over a state law that restricts access to bathrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms. The letter to school districts had been in the works for months, Justice Department officials said.

“A school may not require transgender students to use facilities inconsistent with their gender identity or to use individual-user facilities when other students are not required to do so,” according to the letter, a copy of which was provided to The New York Times.

A school’s obligation under federal law “to ensure nondiscrimination on the basis of sex requires schools to provide transgender students equal access to educational programs and activities even in circumstances in which other students, parents, or community members raise objections or concerns,” the letter states. “As is consistently recognized in civil rights cases, the desire to accommodate others’ discomfort cannot justify a policy that singles out and disadvantages a particular class of students.”

As soon as a child’s parent or legal guardian asserts a gender identity for the student that “differs from previous representations or records,” the letter

Thomas Aberli, a high school principal in Louisville, Ky., said the new guidance would help administrators across the country who are trying to determine the best way to establish safe and inclusive schools. He said his school had little to work with when it drafted a policy that was put in place last year.

These new guidelines are a huge moment for transgender youth across our country, underscoring the Obama administration’s position that discriminating against transgender students is flat-out against the law. http://www.hrc.org/…/obama-administr...delines…

"While principals and other committed educators look for ways to embrace these marginalized students, policies in some states push them further to the margins. We find that unacceptable and we cannot stay silent.” --NASSP President Michael Allison

Texas Teacher Rejects Obama’s Transgender Bathroom Letter, Says He’ll Send it to the Paper Shredder

President Obama decided to yet again defy the constitutional limits placed on his powers and released a directive stating public schools must allow transgenders to use the bathroom of their choice.

Well, the great state of Texas is saying no thanks and accusing the president of blackmail.

    From IJR:

[quote]Rodney Cavness, the Superintendent of Port Neches-Groves in Texas, told 12News that he cannot tolerate the mixing of males and females in his schools’ restrooms out of what he believes are safety concerns:

“He ain’t my President and he can’t tell me what to do. That letter is going straight to the paper shredder. I have 5 daughters myself and I have 2,500 girls in my protection. Their moms and dads expect me to protect them. And that is what I am going to do.”

“Now I don’t want them bullied,” Cavness said. “But there are accommodations that can be made short of this. He is destroying the very fiber of this country. He is not a leader. He is a failure.”
    Here’s more from Politico:

[quote]A top Texas official said the state will not yield to “blackmail” from President Barack Obama, after the administration on Friday released a directive notifying public school officials that transgender students must be allowed to use the restroom and locker room facilities corresponding with their gender identity.

“I believe it is the biggest issue facing families and schools in America since prayer was taken out of public schools,” Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick told reporters.

Obama’s policy “will divide the country not along political lines but along family values and school districts,” Patrick said. “He says he’s going to withhold funding if schools do not follow the policy,” Patrick said, referring to the risk of schools losing federal funding if they do not adhere to the recommendations. “Well, in Texas, he can keep his 30 pieces of silver. We will not yield to blackmail from the president of the United States.”

Noting that Texas public schools get $10 billion of federal funds over a two-year budget, Patrick said the majority of that is for free breakfast

I am not worried about sharing the bathroom with someone who feels that they are transgendered.
THIS is the type of thing that I am concerned about. Pervs in the restroom or showers. People afraid to say anything when they see a male enter the woman's bathroom ... UNTIL something like this happens. Too little - too late.

Man choked 8-year-old girl in South Loop Jason's Deli bathroom[I]
    May 13, 2016
CHICAGO (SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE/FOX 32) - A man choked an 8-year-old girl until she passed out inside the bathroom of a South Loop Jason's Deli last weekend, according to Chicago Police.

She was with her mother at the restaurant in the 1200 block of South Canal when the girl went to the bathroom alone about 1:15 p.m. on May 7, according to Chicago Police.

The woman then heard a scream from her daughter and went inside to find 33-year-old Reese M. Hartstirn carrying the unconscious girl into a stall, police said. He had choked her with his hands, police allege.

He was ordered without bond at a Monday hearing and is due back in court May 16, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.
