I am shocked that only one news station is even reporting this. It is a very important story.

I am not shocked at all. It could possibly affect the way people vote, we couldn't have that when the MSM's annointed one is involved. If McCain or Palin said it, it would be on every news cast, and SNL would do a special to spoof it.

    Climate change activism in practice

The latest widely-publicized moment of Obamacandor is this bit from an interview last summer, in which he expresses, essentially, the intention to bankrupt the coal industry:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hdi4onAQBWQ

Of course, if you believe that anthropogenic global warming has the potential for global cataclysm, then perhaps this is a refreshing moment when a politician with a lot on the line speaks truth to power. Similarly, if you believe that the case for AGW or its consequences has not been made, much less proved, this video reveals the stakes. Policies designed to avert the predicted climate change will have massive consequences for very specific people, and, no, mythical "green collar" jobs will not make up the difference.

CO2 emissions have the same effect on the US whether they are produced domestically or overseas. Perhaps we should take out other countries' coal fired plants ...

OBAMA BRAGS ABOUT BANKRUPTING COAL POWER PLANT COMPANIES

Change we can freeze to death by: http://media.newsbusters.org/stories...-coal-industry

[quoteLet me sort of describe my overall policy. [/quote]

What I’ve said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else’s out there.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.
These remarks were made by Obama on January 17 of this year. Not surprisingly this audio was hidden until now because the interview was with the far left San Francisco Chronicle.

This illustrates better than anything the folly of “cap and trade” proposals. Obama plans to use his C&T plan as a gigantic club to beat up on power companies and coal companies (and the miners) if they don’t meet his arbitrary and capricious “targets” that drop every year regardless of any progress technologically in finding ways to mitigate the carbon output of power plants.

It will almost certainly cause a lot of smaller coal companies to either cut their work force as the demand for coal – our most abundant energy source – shrinks and probably drive a lot of these smaller concerns out of business.

And what about his gloating about driving businesses to bankruptcy? Has there ever been a presidential candidate who looked forward to the prospect of destroying someone’s life’s work and costing thousands of people their jobs?

But at least the Euro-twits pushing Global Warming won’t be mad at us anymore.

Mike Carey, president of the Ohio Coal Association, issued a devastating response to the Obama audiotape today. He states:

"Regardless of the timing or method of the release of these remarks, the message from the Democratic candidate for President could not be clearer: the Obama-Biden ticket spells disaster for America's coal industry and the tens of thousands of Americans who work in it.

"These undisputed, audio-taped remarks, which include comments from Senator Obama like 'I haven't been some coal booster' and 'if they want to build [coal plants], they can, but it will bankrupt them' are extraordinarily misguided. "It's evident that this campaign has been pandering in states like Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana and Pennsylvania to attempt to generate votes from coal supporters, while keeping his true agenda hidden from the state's voters.

"Senator Obama has revealed himself to be nothing more than a short- sighted, inexperienced politician willing to say anything to get a vote. But today, the nation's coal industry and those who support it have a better understanding of his true mission, to 'bankrupt' our industry, put tens of thousands out of work and cause unprecedented increases in electricity prices.
Here's hoping this spreads like wildfire. If you live in a coal producing state please spread the word.

Maybe we could all take turns this winter and huddle around that underground coal fire. Better than nothing when what we have gets too expensive to run the furnace.

If expense is the choice, that would be a good one. California had several blackouts when Enron was jerking with the energy costs.

These statements from BHO are a big deal, California should know.

I just watched him making his statements on our local news, where he 'very cockily' stated "Oh, they can build their coal powered plants, but, they'll go bankrupt from all the fines."

What a dumb@ss !! He said it as if he thought it 'funny' that they would build plants, then, he would make sure they went bankrupt...

This 'boy' is sooooooooo not ready (or able) to 'run' a country ! He just doesn't have the experience !

All he knows is, that if you start a 'community' organization, you can request government grants, and, get lots of money, and pocket a lot of it too ! There ya go, that's his experience.

Funny thing. I thought I'd seen people say they were from California. I was expecting them to say

"YEAH, when Enron drove our electric prices up (quadriple in ONE year), it was awesome!! We had family time during those blackouts. Was really a great thing for us! And the best part is, it kept our prices higher than anywhere in the country. We love it! We hope they do it again!"

But, I'm not seeing that glee......

so, I challenge any Californians to tell us all how great it was 'cause we're all going to be living through that nightmare if BHO aka Mr. Bankrupt the Coal industry gets in.
