So, what I am getting at is how some feel it is okay to continue the push of the gay agenda because they will say 'its real life' well guess what????? People really do some cigs too. Why is it that SOME real life issues are okay while others are not. Remember the diease, AIDS? Well, it comes from homosexual lifestyles (among other choices) & it is deadly so why are people pushing a lifestyle, on TV, that can become a deadly lifestyle????
They're not PUSHING a life style. People CHOOSE to smoke. You don't choose who you are attracted to. And you can get AIDS from being promiscous with the oposite sex, blood transfusions, and sharing dirty needles also. If you're into safe sex you can reduce your chances.

I mean so what if he is gay, why was he singled out. I really do not know of any Gay people who prance, giggle or swish around. I mean, the ones I know are normal acting people, not the silly way they are done on TV. Just because someone is Gay does not mean he/she has to be portrayed any differently than anyone else. It seems like many of the sitcom's have to have a gay person on there, and in my opinion only, make them look like fools.
you may have something there. However, the pointing out of gay people on reality programs is to get the audience interested in whatever interactions that may occur. You know SOMEONE will get a rise out of the 'gay' cast member. Like if Punkman was on a reality tv series...think how he'd react.

This is actually part and parcel of the "Gay Agenda", they KNOW full well that the first step to acceptance is comedy.
What people laugh at they no longer fear or think of as dangerous and/or inappropriate.
ANY sex outside of marriage is wrong. That is why we have the explosion of disease out there.
HIV does affect all categories of sexually active peoples but it also DOES affect homosexual males disproportionately.
What about GBS (Gay Bowel Syndrome) though the name has been changed so as to deny the fact that it usually is found only in sexually active gay males.
How is being gay cool? how is being straight cool. I never think of my orientation and think "cool."

Well if TV has a gay agenda they are doing a very bad job of it. Most gays come off as being really stupid on TV. They are stereotyped more than straights.

I grew up in an abusive alcholic atmosphere and "Little House" and "My Three Sons" was an unbelievale idea ... but one I needed to believe in.
What is wrong with having shows like "The Cosby Show" And "Eight is Enough" ? They dealt with "real life" in their stories too ... but it should have to be trash and smut 24/7 ? They used to reserve the more "daring shows" until 9 ... now they just show whatever ... when ever ... and if you are worried about your kids walking into the room and asking why "a melon has a surprised look on it's face? " ... then you are a prude.
Why do we have to lower all standards to the lowest common denominator ?
Why is it wrong to aspire to something better ?
I agree. Although the highlighted statement I don't understand. I grew up whatching the Cosby Show and Family Ties (Shana na na na) and so on. I got a lot of good life lessons through it. But as Igot older did I watch shows like them? No. Why? Because I'm a grown up an dwant to watch grown up things. I like a good drama. THe real world has swearing, sex, rape, court rooms, drugs, and the ugly side of life. If you don't like it..fine. Don't watch it.
It always amazes me that people actually complain about what is on tv these days. Why? Becuase you don't have to watch it. If you don't wach and no one watches it it gets canceled. Simple as that. There are hundreds of channels with tons of programming for all kids of people.
Plus look at what time your kids go to bed. Even through high school I had ot be in bed at 8:30 or 9:00 at the latest. Some parents complain about bad programming but their kids are up till 9:30 or 10:00.

Becuase you don't have to watch it
Exactly!
I just don't see what the big deal is about gays on TV. There are gay people in the real world, so why not on TV?
There was a time, not so long ago, when ppl were also talking about who was on TV. Change "gay" to "black" and it's probably the same thing they were saying years ago when we were dealing with segregation and all.
Fast forward to now, and most of us are not racist, and most of us enjoy shows with all different ppl.
I think that in a few more years, most ppl will be watching things on TV, those same things that some are complaining about now, and wondering why they raised such a fuss in the first place.

For the melon reference you will have to re-read my earlier post about "Three and a Half Men"

I do not have "hundreds of channels" - I have 4. NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS. Too far out in the country to have cable, too deep in the woods to have sat... too broke to pay for eigther.
Is it too much to ask that out of "hundreds" of TV channels there could be just a few "smut-free" shows ?

I actually agree - remember the "old days" when the "adult fare" was restricted to after 9 o'clock ? Now it begins at 7:00 -- with no respite. About the only thing my kids are allowed to watch on Network is "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" and saturday morning cartoons. I hvae been buying old series on TV - My Wife and Kids, Cosby, Fresh Prince, Magnum PI ( okay that one is mainly for me ... ), MythBusters and Merecat Manor.
I tape CSI, Criminal Minds, NCIS, LOST, Jericho and the Law & Order series to watch when the kids are asleep or in school.
It seems all the shows I hated last season were renewed and some of the ones I liked are canceled...

Oh, I had no idea. However, interestingly enough, that thought crossed my mind while I was writing that post.."what if they only have 4 channels". I think the networks are trying to keep up with their cable counter parts. People watch TNT, TBS, USA, SPIKE, MTV (yuck),and FX. Seven o'clock used to be Cosby and Roseanne. I don't know what it is now.

Yeah they canceled 'Surface' and 'Invasion' after one season...so now we watch heroes. I wish I had some advise for you. Get them a Wii.
