I just don't see what the big deal is about gays on TV. There are gay people in the real world, so why not on TV?

There was a time, not so long ago, when ppl were also talking about who was on TV. Change "gay" to "black" and it's probably the same thing they were saying years ago when we were dealing with segregation and all.

Fast forward to now, and most of us are not racist, and most of us enjoy shows with all different ppl.

I think that in a few more years, most ppl will be watching things on TV, those same things that some are complaining about now, and wondering why they raised such a fuss in the first place.

I do not have "hundreds of channels" - I have 4. NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS. Too far out in the country to have cable, too deep in the woods to have sat... too broke to pay for eigther. ;) Is it too much to ask that out of "hundreds" of TV channels there could be just a few "smut-free" shows ?

I actually agree - remember the "old days" when the "adult fare" was restricted to after 9 o'clock ? Now it begins at 7:00 -- with no respite. About the only thing my kids are allowed to watch on Network is "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" and saturday morning cartoons. I hvae been buying old series on TV - My Wife and Kids, Cosby, Fresh Prince, Magnum PI ( okay that one is mainly for me ... ), MythBusters and Merecat Manor.

I tape CSI, Criminal Minds, NCIS, LOST, Jericho and the Law & Order series to watch when the kids are asleep or in school.

It seems all the shows I hated last season were renewed and some of the ones I liked are canceled...

Oh, I had no idea. However, interestingly enough, that thought crossed my mind while I was writing that post.."what if they only have 4 channels". I think the networks are trying to keep up with their cable counter parts. People watch TNT, TBS, USA, SPIKE, MTV (yuck),and FX. Seven o'clock used to be Cosby and Roseanne. I don't know what it is now.

Yeah they canceled 'Surface' and 'Invasion' after one season...so now we watch heroes. I wish I had some advise for you. Get them a Wii.

I found "Surface" ar Walmarts for $14.95 "for the entire series" LOL One season.... I liked the Louisiana connection... the actor even had a passable New Iberia accent :thumbsup: They left us sitting in the steeple of a church ( how's that for symbolism ? ) looking over the flooded landscape

Why do we have to know what people do in their bedrooms then people complain---stay out of my bedroom. Dude, I don't want to go in your bedroom but you want to drag me in there. GAAAA.

I think Three and a half men can get really bad and it is on here at 6 in the evening. Just when the kids are watching. It has a kid in it so I guess most parents think it will be ok to watch. NOT Some parents use TV to be a babysitter and don't even know what their kids are watching. Our parents never had to worry, there was no show on to worry about.

They say TV is only showing reality today. On "Friends" I would estimate all those friends slept with half of New York, the way they portrayed them all going to bed each time they went on a date. I and all the people I know never acted like that. I read most people have only one or two experiences before marriage. I don't see everybody hopping from bed to bed. Maybe some but not that many. That is not reality. That is hogwash.

Do you want your daughter to have 10 or more? Then they have five kids by five different men. We all see it in our society today.

Turn off the TV or better yet throw it out. With so many parents working I would just get rid of the TV all together. Then they go to a friend's house and watch it there.

If it's TMI what happens in a heterosexual's bedroom then why the obsession about what happens in a homosexual's bedroom? Every time the topic of gay marriage comes up someone who opposes it focuses on what happens in the bedroom. My marriage is far more than what happens in our bedroom and even then, 90% of that is sleeping. Sex is a very small part of marriage yet that's the only part that those opposed to gay rights focus on. That and the Bible which has absolutely no place at all in making laws.

I'm not ashamed. I have nothing to be ashamed about. If my children have as many by th etime they are my age then so be it and if they have children then that is their resonsibilty. I will support them but they will have to make thier own choices. I can't live thier lives for them.

Contrary to what some think not everybody cares to know what someone does in there bedroom or elsewhere. I just feel like some gay people, not all, love to talk in detail about what they do and frankly I'm not interested. That gay parade they have is an example of some wanting to show the world their sex lives. I'd have a lot more respect for them if they didn't feel the need to march half dressed and just march dressed decently. And definitely leave the sex acts out of the parade. If people talk bad about their parades they have a reason too. Why can't they be gay and proud without all the in your face sexual acting out. Personally I think its their way of thumbing their noses at everybody. I've never seen any other parades where people act the way they do. Thats why people have a hard time respecting some of them. I think its because most people don't believe in acting out sexually in public out of respect for others so they don't feel like gay people respect others.
