Because mother's have a mechanism within called unconditional love. Despite what our children do, there is always somewhere within us that love them.

ABC News paid Casey Anthony’s family $200,000
The Daily Caller – Fri, Jul 8, 2011

As much as everyone wishes it were over, the drama over the Casey Anthony trial continues.

On Friday morning in Orlando came yet another bombshell in the case: ABC News paid $200,000 to the Anthony family, and the money went towards Casey’s legal defense. The revelation comes as the judge decided whether to declare her indigent, which would mean the state of Florida would have to pay for pursuing the case against her.

Anthony’s legal team told the court it has spent $275,000 on her defense so far. More than two-thirds of that has come from the money given to the family by ABC News.

An ABC News spokesperson told Mediabistro’s TVNewser blog: “In August 2008 we licensed exclusive rights to an extensive library of photos and home video for use by our broadcasts, platforms, affiliates and international partners. No use of the material was tied to any interview.”

It isn’t the first time ABC News has given money to the family. TVNewser also reports that in February 2009, the network paid for a three-night hotel stay at a Ritz-Carlton in Central Florida for Casey Anthony’s parents. During their stay, they dined with an ABC News producer hoping to land an exclusive interview. The Anthonys declined.

Angry Public Forces Casey Anthony Juror Into Hiding

Seven days after delivering a verdict that stunned the nation and set in motion the release of Casey Anthony, one of the jurors who acquitted her of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, remains in hiding.
Juror number 12, a married mother of two in her 60s who moved to Florida from Michigan, quit her job and went into hiding, according to MSNBC.
Her husband told the network he is not sure when his wife will return to their Florida home. He said she left the state because she fears a public backlash.

Prior to the start of the trial, the juror worked at a Publix supermarket. During jury selection, she said she had very little knowledge of the case and was "not that into" newspapers or TV.
The juror was due to retire from her job in the fall, but her husband said she called her boss after she was released from sequestration and retired over the telephone. She told him she could not come to work because she did not feel safe, MSNBC reported.
Juror number 12 may be paranoid, but not without good reason. An angry public has lashed out at jurors online and in the media, and one restaurant owner in Clearwater posted a sign banning the 7 female and 5 male jurors from entering his establishment: "Pinellas County jurors NOT welcome!!!" The sign has since been taken down.

"All of my employees felt the same way. When we heard the verdict, we were shocked," John McClure, owner of Skyline Chili, told ABC's WEAR-TV last week.

The jurors' names are currently under seal in court files, but not for long. Usually, the judge can withhold the jurors' names for only about a week.
Since the verdict was announced two jurors have spoken publicly: Juror number 2, who spoke to The St. Petersburg Times last week under the promise of anonymity, and Juror number 3, Jennifer Ford, who spoke with ABC News that same day.

Juror number 12's husband told MSNBC that he has his bags packed and is ready to join his wife when her name is released. He also said his wife told him, "I'd rather go to jail than sit on a jury like this again."

Casey Anthony's mother could face perjury charges
By KYLE HIGHTOWER - Associated Press | AP – 4 hrs ago

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A sheriff in Florida says Casey Anthony's mother could face perjury charges for her testimony during her daughter's murder trial.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said Tuesday that Cindy Anthony may have lied on the witness when she was testifying about who searched for chloroform on the family computer. Cindy Anthony initially told police she did not search for chloroform, but at the trial she said she did.

The sheriff also revealed that authorities are investigating a witness tampering allegation. He would not elaborate.

He spoke to reporters during a wide-ranging news conference a week after Casey Anthony was acquitted of murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony.

Casey Anthony was found guilty of lying to law enforcement and is to be released from jail Sunday.

Gee, I wonder if Casey's mother goes to jail, would casey visit her??? Probably not...

    ----

Who DIDN'T lie in that courtroom?

    ---

She also tampered with evidence(spraying febreeze in the trunk and washing some clothes that were in the car. Why she was trying to help cover her monster daughter if it smelled like their was a dead body in the #$%$ car, she should have called police right away!

    ---

Cindy Anthony insisted, under oath, that she made those terribly incriminating computer searches on her home computer. It was shown by two witnesses that she was at work at the time. That is perjury. If you don't enforce this law, then every murderer will have an unlimited supply of lying witnesses, because they have nothing to lose by lying.

    ---

Well, she did try to claim that she was the one who made that Chloroform research online. It was proven that she wasn't even at home when the searches were made. So, she perjured herself to try and save her daughter. It worked, and now Casey won't even talk to her, and she may even go to jail herself. Life seems to just be full of joy when one has an ungrateful, self-absorbed, homicidal witch for a daughter.

    ---

The law is the law. If you lie under oath, that is perjury and no one should be exempt. What I can not understand is why George, Cindy and Lee were allowed in the court room when they were going to testify. All the other witnesses had to stay out in the hall until called. This made it easy for them to know what to say under oath.

    ---

Maybe Casey will write a book like OJ did. 'If I did it' She could title it 'How I killed my kid, hid the evidence, got a morally bankrupt attorney, threw my family under the bus, and got an asinine group of 12 jurors to acquit me.'

Witness tampering alleged at Casey Anthony trial
By KYLE HIGHTOWER - Associated Press | AP – 59 mins ago

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Authorities were looking into allegations of witness tampering during Casey Anthony's murder trial, a Florida sheriff said Tuesday during a wide-ranging news conference with his top investigators in what he said was an effort to bring closure to a case that polarized the country.

Casey Anthony was acquitted a week ago on charges of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008. Anthony was found guilty on four charges of lying to law enforcement officers. She is to be released from jail Sunday.

The sheriff held the news conference to defend his investigation and because his office had been besieged with interview requests since the verdict. "The ultimate goal ... is that our personnel can get back to work doing the business of the taxpayers and residents of Orange County," Demings said. "This is the only way that we can move forward."

Demings wouldn't say who was accused of witness tampering, but it didn't involve Casey Anthony's mother, Cindy. She stunned prosecutors during the trial when she testified that she had done searches for chloroform on the family's computer. Prosecutors believed, along with sheriff's investigators, that Casey Anthony had performed the search as she plotted to kill Caylee.

Later, testimony by two of Cindy Anthony's co-workers that the company's electronic records showed that she was logged into her work system for most of the day on both March 17 and March 21 when the chloroform searches were done. Cindy Anthony said she had performed the Internet searches for chloroform while looking up information on chlorophyll, a green pigment found in plants. Chloroform is a chemical that can be used as a sedative and is fatal to children in small doses.

A co-worker said the system would not have recorded Cindy Anthony's presence if a person hadn't been actively using the work computer.

The government presented evidence at trial that chloroform was found in Anthony's car trunk and insinuated that she could have used it to render Caylee unconscious.

As for the alleged witness tampering, detective John Allen would only say the sheriff's office has interviewed some witnesses. "In regards to where we will go, it really depends on what information we get and what people come forward to provide additional information," Allen said.

The investigators at the news conference sat at a table alongside a big picture of Caylee. The sheriff said it was a reminder of what his investigators were pursuing during the three-year case that dominated his resources. "This is what this was all about," Demings said. "It was about a missing child. That's what motivated our staff and our community."

Demings said his office followed up on more than 600 tips and worked with more than 100 FBI agents. He said he is still in the process of working with his accounting department to total up substantial investigative costs. Prosecutors want Anthony to incur those costs because they said the lies she was convicted of telling investigators directly led to the expenditures. "Obviously those were resources that could have been put toward finding other missing children," Allen said.

Texas Equusearch, the private group that conducted several searches for Caylee in 2008, filed a lawsuit against Anthony on Tuesday, seeking $15,000 for what it spent on searches. The lawsuit claimed Anthony made misrepresentations to the group's founder, causing extensive, costly and time-consuming searches for Caylee.

Anthony's defense said Caylee accidentally drowned in the family pool and her father, a former police officer, helped cover it up. Anthony's partying and shopping during the month before her daughter was reported missing was caused in part by her father's sexual abuse, her attorneys said.

George Anthony denied the claims in court, and investigators said Tuesday they were rebuffed by the defense team when they tried to interview her about the allegations.

Allen and the case's lead detective, Yuri Melich, said they wouldn't do anything differently in the case, despite not winning a conviction. "Ultimately, it's up to the jury to decide," Melich said. "We respect that and honor that."

The sheriff did acknowledge that finding Caylee's remains earlier could have built a stronger case. The remains were found by a meter reader in December 2008, six months after Caylee was reported missing. The meter reader initially called authorities as early as August about seeing what might have been a skull in the woods.

Demings said the investigator called out after the meter reader's report no longer works at the sheriff's office, and he believed authorities correctly focused on Anthony. "I certainly don't have any doubt," Allen said. "... I think our work was solid."

I heard today that Casey will probably change her name and undergo surgery so she can't be identified, somewhat like the witness protection program.

Casey Anthony plans to appeal convictions for lying
By Barbara Liston | Reuters – 40 mins ago

ORLANDO, Fla (Reuters) - Casey Anthony will appeal her convictions on four charges of lying to detectives who investigated the disappearance and death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, a notice filed on Friday by her attorneys said.

A Florida jury acquitted 25-year-old Anthony earlier this month of killing Caylee, whose skeletal remains were found in woods near the Anthony family home after a five-month search.

Anthony was convicted of misdemeanor charges of lying to detectives searching for her then-missing daughter in 2008. Among other lies, Anthony said she left Caylee with a nanny named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez at an Orlando apartment complex.

Anthony was sentenced to the maximum of four years in jail on four counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer. She will be released on Sunday, less than two weeks after her sentencing date after credit for time served awaiting trial and good behavior.

Meanwhile, a judge ruled Anthony will not have to appear on Tuesday for a deposition in a defamation lawsuit and set a new date for her to give sworn testimony in that case in October.

Lawyers have been seeking to take her deposition on behalf of a woman named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, who claims her life was ruined by Anthony's allegation that a nanny by that name kidnapped Caylee.

Anthony's lawyer Charles Greene had sought to block the deposition from taking place next week.

Greene argued in a motion that Anthony likely would assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination due to the status of her criminal case. In court on Friday, Greene said a psychologist had evaluated Anthony on Thursday and found her "too emotionally unstable" to appear for the deposition, opposing lawyer Keith Mitnik told reporters after the hearing.

Mitnik said he was concerned Anthony would leave the area after her release from jail on Sunday and not show up for the civil court proceedings. The defamation lawsuit was filed in 2008 but put on hold during the criminal proceedings. Fernandez-Gonzalez's lawyers asked for an emergency order this week to compel Anthony to appear at the deposition, telling the judge they were concerned she would disappear after her release from jail.

Greene countered with a motion for an emergency protective order, arguing that Anthony was emotionally and mentally exhausted by the seven-week criminal trial and has had no time to prepare for her defense in the defamation case.

Wasn't her ENTIRE defense that she was lying?? How do you appeal that?

    ---

As if she hasn't lied enough. Now she is going to lie about lying.

    ---

How does one appeal a conviction when her lawyer admitted that she did it in her crimianl trial? Her lawyer in his closing aruguments said, "my client is a liar and a #$%$quot;, but that doesn't make her a murderer.... Really? I am very frustrated with our criminal system!

    ---

And this will accomplish what exactly? She's basically getting no jail time for what she got convicted for anyways.I mean what's the #$%$ point of appealing.I love to know what the grounds of her appealing is anyways and where she's gonna get the money to pay her lawyers.

    ----

Why not? She was able to committ the ultimate act and get away with it....Sociopaths don't ever have a problem defending their rights to do whatever they desire......

    ---

    Where is Caylee's appeal?

She's probably going to get time served so why appeal. I think she just wants more attention so her book or movie will be more interesting.
