We have several rifles, shotguns, handguns and ammo to go with them. I am also an archer and have arrows on hand too. I use razor arrows, they can kill a zebra. 3 out of 4 sons has an FOID and knows how to care for and shoot each gun we have. Safety first 'ya know. We do not threaten but if I (must) have it in my hand then you are gonna be hurt. I will not shoot to kill but you will wish I had.

Gun control views unchanged after Colorado massacre
Reuters – 1 hr 28 mins ago.
..
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Americans' views on gun control remain largely unchanged despite the killing of a dozen moviegoers in a Colorado theater this month, a Pew poll showed on Monday.
Forty-seven percent of Americans say it is more important to control gun ownership, while 46 percent say it is more important to protect the rights of Americans to own guns, the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press said in a statement.
The numbers are virtually unchanged from April, when 45 percent prioritized gun control and 49 percent gun rights. Other major episodes of gun violence in recent years also had little effect on public opinion about gun laws, Pew said.
James Holmes, a former University of Colorado graduate student, was formally charged on Monday in the shooting deaths of 12 people in the shootings at an Aurora, Colorado, theater on July 20.
Sixty-seven percent of those polled say that shootings like the one in Colorado are the isolated acts of troubled individuals. Twenty-four percent say such shootings reflect broader problems in U.S. society.
Hughes had bought 6,000 rounds of ammunition online. Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey and Representative Carolyn McCarthy of New York said they were proposing limits on anonymous online or mail-order purchases of ammunition.
The legislation also would require reporting of bulk ammunition sales.
President Barack Obama pledged last week to work to "arrive at a consensus" on how to reduce gun violence.
The Pew survey was conducted July 26 to 29 among 1,010 adults.

Here is the YouTube video of far left Bob Costas rant on how taking away American's constitutional right to bear arms would somehow have prevented the tragic murder suicide of Kansas City Chiefs player Jevon Belcher.
Why don't you all go to the NBC Facebook site and let them know how you feel about one of the sportscasters using a football game to preach his far left agenda.
Click on NBC Sports Facebook link below and let them know what you think about Costas trying to trample on our 2nd Amendment rights.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, a former high school star in West Babylon, shot his girlfriend to death Saturday at their home and then killed himself in front of three team officials at Arrowhead Stadium, police said.
Belcher, 25, and his girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, 22, had a 3-month-old daughter, authorities said. They said the child is now in the custody of Belcher's mother, who witnessed the first shooting and called 911.
Moments before killing himself, Belcher thanked general manager Scott Pioli and head coach Romeo Crennel for the opportunity he had gotten to play for Chiefs.

If he had no gun he would have slit her throat and then his own. I use dental picks. i could do a lot of damage with one if I were so inclined.
Weapons can be made. They do it in prisons all the time. A fork could be a useful weapon as well. Do we outlaw all materials that could be used for weapon making? What would we do if duct tape were no longer available?

San Bernardino City Attorney: Police Can’t Protect you. Lock Your Doors and Load Your Guns.
Posted on December 3, 2012 by Greg Campbell
San Bernardino City Attorney Jim Penman has expressed to the public what gun-rights activists have been expressing for years: The police can’t protect you. Get a gun.
Penman spoke to a council meeting of about 150 residents of the bankrupt city last week and told them that with the extreme budget cuts, there was no way the police could adequately protect the citizens. Penman’s advice to residents: “Lock your doors and load your guns.”
As the police department had been receiving criticism over their slow response time, Penman pointed out that due to the budgetary constraints of the bankrupt city, they had to cut its police force by about 80 officers. Penman further stated,
“Let’s be honest, we don’t have enough police officers. We have too many criminals living in this city. We have had 45 murders this year…that’s far too high for a city of this size.”
Though it is refreshing to have a public official to go on record as saying what many of us have known for years, it is equally disheartening. The fact is that these people are paying for services that they are not getting. With California’s infamous capacity for wasteful government spending on redundant bureaucracy and welfare programs, it seems unfair for the taxpayers- the producers of society- to pay for police services that are being cut due to three decades of backwards economic policy that have favored the lower class.
San Bernardino is the most recent city that has advocated for the nearly-lost art of self-protection. While America was forged from frontiers seething with danger, much of America has lost sight of the value of self-reliance. It is only now, as we witness the slow implosion of our economies due to failed socialist policies, that we see a resurgence of “you’re on your own” advocacy.
The Detroit Police Department, earlier this year, began handing out fliers to people, urging them to not come to Detroit because they could not protect them. Facing similar budgetary considerations as San Bernardino, Detroit had to cut its police force significantly, leaving Detroit police officers to conclude that people ought to see after their own protection needs.
Individual firearm ownership is one of the things that make America great. While many countries abhor the concept of citizens owning firearms, America has had a tumultuous relationship with them. When things are great, the smug liberal elites wonder why such barbaric devices are necessary. When things start to destabilize, it is the personal protection of a firearm that gives many comfort and security. As our economic situation turns from bad to worse, Americans are buying firearms at record-breaking levels.
I’m glad to see the candor that is beginning to come from government officials with regards to our safety.
