Al Qaeda initiation tests in Germany
    http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/015991.php

Germany: Failed bomb plot seen as Al-Qaeda initiation test

At the time of their arrest, "it had looked like an isolated plot because they declared they had been radicalized by the row over the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in European newspapers." Indeed, it often turns out that while one pretext is invoked as the immediate cause for a jihadist action, the fundamental motivation is the ideology of Islamic supremacism that seizes upon any and all pretexts to advance the cause. The problem is that Westerners continue to be fooled into thinking that if they address the pretext of the moment, the jihad will go away. Those who postured piously about respect for religious figures in the wake of the Muhammad cartoon controversy should reflect on the case of Jihad Hamad and Youssef el Hajdib.

"Terrorism In Germany: Failed Bomb Plot Seen As Al-Qaida Initiation Test," by Andreas Ulrich in Spiegel Online (thanks to all who sent this in):

Germany narrowly escaped what could have been its worst-ever terrorist attack last July when two bombs placed on trains failed to detonate. The case comes to trial in a Lebanese court this week with German police suspecting that the attack was an initiation test for potential al-Qaida recruits.
German authorities believe that the two Lebanese studentswho tried but failed to detonate self-made bombs in two German trains last July may have done so to qualify themselves for al-Qaida missions in Iraq.

The trial of the two alleged would-be bombers, Youssef el Hajdib, 21, Jihad Hamad, 20 and four other men starts on Wednesday in the Lebanese capital Beirut. Youssef al-Hajdib, who is in custody in a Berlin jail, is being tried in absentia.

Youssef and Jihad had made crude bombs from gas canisters filled with petrol and diesel and deposited them on two German regional trains hidden in large suitcases on July 31. They both boarded trains at Cologne's main train station and got off after depositing the bombs.

The devices, fitted with alarm clocks for timers, failed to detonate. If they had, they would have created a fireball up to 15 meters wide and hurled deadly shrapnel up to 100 meters, explosive experts said. It could have been the worst terrorist attack on German soil in the country's history.

They were arrested a few weeks later after being recognized from Cologne station's security camera footage. Youssef was detained in Germany and Jihad turned himself in to Lebanese authorities after hiding at his parents' house. At the time, it had looked like an isolated plot because they declared they had been radicalized by the row over the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in European newspapers.

But eight months on, after analyzing computer hard drives, mobile phone data, DNA traces and interrogation records, German authorities have reached a different conclusion -- that the attacks were commissioned by a man with links to al-Qaida as a test of courage to qualify them for attacks on US-led forces in Iraq.

    One more .....

Decision in Duke rape case awaited
By AARON BEARD, Associated Press Writer
    2 hours, 6 minutes ago

RALEIGH, N.C. - The three men indicted in the Duke lacrosse sexual assault case could learn this week whether state prosecutors plan to bring them to trial or drop the charges, a person close to the case said Tuesday.

The attorney general's office, which has said for several weeks it was close to completing its investigation since taking the case from the district attorney, has wrapped up additional interviews, said the person, who spoke to The Associated Press on a condition of anonymity because a formal announcement has not been made.

A spokeswoman for the state attorney general's office said Tuesday no announcement in the case was scheduled. No motions or court papers were filed in the case on Tuesday. "There is some hope that there might be an answer from the attorney general this week at some point," said defense attorney Wade Smith, who represents player Collin Finnerty.

Finnerty, Reade Seligmann and David Evans were indicted on charges of rape, kidnapping and sexual offense last spring after a woman told police she was assaulted at a March 2006 team party where she was hired to perform as a stripper. All three have steadfastly maintained their innocence, with Evans calling the allegations "fantastic lies."

Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong dropped the rape charges in December after the accuser changed a key detail in her story, and recused himself a few weeks later after the state bar charged him with several ethics violations tied to his handling of the case. If convicted, Nifong could be disbarred.

Nifong's recusal put the players' fate in the hands of North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper, who promised "a fresh and thorough review of the facts" when he took over the case in January.

There were other signs Tuesday that an announcement from Cooper might come soon. Seligmann, 21, of Essex Fells, N.J., and his family arrived at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and Smith said the Finnerty family was also expected to arrive later Tuesday from their home in Garden City, N.Y. "We are not going to have any expectations until we hear officially," Smith said. "When we get the word, we'll have the word."

Evans' attorney, Joseph Cheshire, declined to comment when asked if his client was planning to be in Raleigh on Wednesday. While Evans, 24, of Bethesda, Md., graduated the day before he was indicted in May, Duke temporarily suspended sophomores Finnerty and Seligmann in the wake of their arrest. Finnerty, 20, was also convicted in July in an unrelated assault case in Washington, D.C., and sentenced to six months of probation.

Finnerty and Seligmann were both invited to return to campus, but neither has accepted. John Danowski, the former coach at Hofstra who took over the Duke program last summer, has also said that both are welcome to continue their lacrosse careers with the Blue Devils.

Finnerty's father said it has been a 'horrific' year, and said odds were low that his son would return to Duke. "The waiting process is wearing us down emotionally," Finnerty's father, Kevin Finnerty, in a telephone interview. "We take comfort in the fact that these prosecutors are searching for the truth. And that's different from how we felt before their involvement."

Re: 10 things more newsworthy than Don Imus

Imus vs. the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks Chart
    (language warning)

    By Michelle Malkin · April 10, 2007 10:22 PM

My syndicated column this week: THE CULTURE OF "BITCHES, NIGGAS, AND HOS"

Let's stipulate: I have no love for Don Imus, Al Sharpton, or Jesse Jackson. I repeat: A pox on all their race-baiting houses.

Let's also stipulate: The Rutgers women's basketball team didn't deserve to be disrespected as "nappy-headed hos." No woman deserves that. I agree with the athletes that Imus's misogynist mockery was "deplorable, despicable and unconscionable." And as I noted on Fox News's O'Reilly Factor this week, I believe top public officials and journalists who have appeared on Imus's show should take responsibility for enabling Imus—and should disavow his longstanding invective.

But let's take a breath now and look around. Is the Sharpton & Jackson Circus truly committed to cleaning up cultural pollution that demeans women and perpetuates racial epithets? Have you seen the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks chart this week?

The number one rap track is by a new sensation who goes by the name of "Mims."

The "song" is "This Is Why I'm Hot." It has topped the charts for the last 15 weeks. Here's a taste of the lyrics that young men and women are cranking up in their cars:

    This is why I'm hot
    Catch me on the block
    Every other day
    Another bitch another drop
    16 bars, 24 pop
44 songs, nigga gimme what you got…

    … We into big spinners
    See my pimping never dragged
Find me wit' different women that you niggas never had
For those who say they know me know I'm focused on ma cream
Player you come between you'd better focus on the beam
I keep it so mean the way you see me lean
And when I say I'm hot my nigga dis is what I mean
    Here's the video:

Let's move down the Billboard list, shall we? The number two rap track in the nation this week is by rappers Bow Wow and R. Kelly (yes, the same R. Kelly who was indicted five years ago on a raft of child-porn charges and is still awaiting trial). The "song" is called "I'm a Flirt" and it's been on the charts for 12 weeks:

    I'm a b pimpin
    I don't be slippin
When it come down to these hos
    I don't love em
    We don't cuff em
Man that's just the way it goes
I pull up in the Phantom
    All the ladies think handsome
    Jewelry shining, I stay stuntin'
Thats why these niggas can't stand em
    I'm a chick mag-a-net
And anything fine I'm bag-gin it
And if she got a man, I don't care
10 toes and I wanna be, cause I gotta have it

    The final line:

Now the moral of the story is cuff yo chick,' cause hey,
    I'm black, fresh , and I rap, plus I'm rich, and I'm a flirt.

Al Sharpton, I am sure, is ready to call a press conference with the National Organization for Women to jointly protest this garbage and protest the radio stations and big pimpin' music companies behind it.

Or perhaps the New Civility Squad is not convinced yet that the Billboard chart toppers I've highlighted are representative? Let's proceed to number three on the Billboard rap charts this week (and on the charts for the past 13 weeks): "Go Getta" by a rapper named "Young Jeezy" with a special appearance by R. Kelly (again!). Here's the "chorus:"

You know we trap all day
    Play all night
Dis Is Da Life Of A Go Getta (Ey) Go Getta (Ey) Go Getta (Yea)
    U In Da Club
    U C A Bad Bitch
    Point Her Out (Oh)
Yea U Damn Right Ima (Ey)
You Damn Right Ima Go Getta (Ey) Go Getta (Ey) Go Getta (Yea)
    Here's the video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-cZeF1sG0h8

The number four song on the Billboard Rap Tracks charts is "Throw Some D's" by "Rich Boy featuring Polow Da Don" (it's been on the charts for 18 weeks).
    Here's the chorus:

    Rich Boy sellin' crack
    F*k niggas wanna jack
    Sh*t tight no slack
Just bought a Cadillac (Throw some D's on that bitch!)
Just bought a Cadillac (Throw some D's on that bitch!)
    Just bought a Cadillac
    Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMFj0sWpIAI

The lyrical rap poet known as "Unk" has the number five spot with "2 Step." On the charts for nine weeks, here's a taste of his dope rhyme:

I See You Got It Right
    Beat My Wrist Ice
    Colder Than A Bud Light
Now I'm a Take My Time
    Where The Gangsters At
And You Can Still Post The Wall Nigga Holla Back
    Grey Goose And Yak
    Blunt Filled With Kush
    I'm Getting Jiggy With It
    Smoking On That George Bush
    Step
Here's the video, which features children:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4Oqx...elated&search=

And at number six is "Rock Your Hips" by "Crime Mob."

    Here are the full lyrics:

Lil' Jay, on the track, nigga, aye & you already know, its ya boi lil scrappy
we finna have the whole M-F world, rockin'in dis bitch,
look at shawty check her out. southern smokin

    Chorus

I like the way she rock her hips,
    then wave & sip
She rock her hips then wave & sip
She rock her hips, she rock her hips,
she rock her hips, then wave & sip

Look at them hips I like how she rock it
She bend that' thing ova, & to the ground,

Now,I got 32 flavors of dat bootylicious bubblegum

Known to drive a nigga, crazy, willie wonka wanna pay me
On the daily, off the hizzle, rock my heels shake my skittles

    (Repeat chorus)

I like it, when she show me she can rock it,
roll it, drop it to the flo'
Bouncin' slow, shawties, all pole, that's the way to go
Tell her booey-ooey got a nigga glancin'

You got me enticed, by the way, you rock dem hips
    You's a trip, girl,doin' all dem tricks, that's what's up

I like it she when she rock her hips then take it low
She grab the towel and wipe the pole
Oh oh shawty got it goin on , its just me and her
And im in my zone, check out her rack,
Shawty got a fat ass watch her throw dat shit back
They say she sweets like snacks
Betcha put her on da track everyday
Youn eatin lunch coutin muthafuckin stacks

One dumb radio/television shock jock's insult is a drop in the ocean of barbaric filth and anti-female hatred on the radio.

Imus gets a two-week suspension. What kind of relief do we get from this deadening, coarsening, dehumanizing barrage from young, black rappers and their music industry enablers who have helped turn America into Tourette's Nation?

Anything in the news is more newsworthy than Don Imus!
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Distance and time may separate us but friendship and memories won't.
