Dead Psychic's Sketch Of JonBenet Killer Revisited
Dead Psychic's Sketch Of JonBenet Killer Revisited
Same Psychic Helped Colorado Authorities In Hunt For Accused Serial Killer
POSTED: 1:15 pm EDT August 17, 2006
DENVER -- Psychic Dorothy Allison believed she knew what JonBenet's killer looked like and provided a sketch to the Ramsey family, based on her visions.
The Ramsey family Web site published the sketch, asking the public, "Have you seen this man? This man may have been in the Boulder area in December 1996."
The sketch was also given to Boulder police, who continued to insist that nobody outside the family was likely involved in the crime.
A comparison of the sketch side-by-side with that of a picture of suspect John Karr appears to show remarkable resemblance.
Allison originally came up with the sketch during a 1998 appearance on the nationally syndicated Leeza Gibbons Show. Allison died a year later.
The Ramsey family Web site at www.ramseyfamily.com was used to publish press releases as well as ads and flyers the Ramseys sent out in search for their daughter's killer in the spring and fall of 1997. One of the flyers contained the sketch given by Allison. The Ramsey family let the domain name of the Web site expire in 2004.
Four years before JonBenet's death, Allison assisted El Paso County investigators in the investigation of the slaying of Heather Dawn Church.
''In 30 years, I've never had accurate information from a psychic,'' a veteran law enforcement officer told The Denver Post in 1995. ''But the information by Dorothy Allison was right on the money.''
Robert Browne was later arrested and convicted in the killing of Church. Last month he admitted killing as many as 49 people across the United States.
In another strange twist in the Ramsey case, the man who originally arrested Brown in the Church slaying joined the investigation team looking into the slaying of JonBenet. He said he always believed an intruder was responsible for the crime.

DNA clears JonBenet Ramsey's family
By CATHERINE TSAI, Associated Press Writer
1 minute ago
BOULDER, Colo. - Citing new DNA tests, prosecutors on Wednesday cleared JonBenet Ramsey's parents and brother in the 1996 killing of the 6-year-old beauty queen and apologized to the family for casting the cloud of suspicion that hung over them for more than a decade.
Boulder County District Attorney Mary Lacy said the tests point to an "unexplained third party." She released a copy of a letter she sent to John Ramsey that said: "To the extent that we may have contributed in any way to the public perception that you might have been involved in this crime, I am deeply sorry."
Lacy said prosecutors don't consider any member of the Ramsey family to be a suspect.
For years after the slaying, checkout-aisle tabloids and crime shows went after the couple. News reports also cast suspicion on JonBenet's older brother, Burke. Lacy's predecessor as district attorney, Alex Hunter, said in 1997 that the parents were under an "umbrella of suspicion."
Lacy has previously expressed doubts that the parents were involved. In 2003, a federal judge handling a defamation lawsuit in Atlanta involving the Ramseys said evidence in the case was more consistent with the theory that an intruder killed JonBenet, not her parents, and Lacy said she agreed.
John Ramsey found his daughter's strangled and bludgeoned body in the basement of the family's home in Boulder on Dec. 26, 1996. Patsy Ramsey said she found a ransom note demanding $118,000 for her daughter.
John Ramsey, a software entrepreneur, has said in interviews he believes the case will be solved.
Patsy Ramsey died June 24, 2006, of ovarian cancer at the age of 49 in Atlanta, where the family moved after JonBenet's death.
"My first thought was obviously I wish Patsy Ramsey was here with us to be able to at least share vindication of her family," said L. Lin Wood, an attorney for the Ramsey family.
"There are many people in this country, if not around the world, that also owe John and Patsy Ramsey and Burke Ramsey (their son) an apology," he said.
Less than two months after Patsy Ramsey died, the case appeared to blow wide open with the arrest in Thailand of John Mark Karr, a sometime teacher obsessed with the little girl's slaying. Karr made bizarre, detailed confessions to the killing, but authorities said DNA evidence showed Karr did not commit the crime.

I cannot believe they have never found the killer in this case. I actually knew Patsy Paugh (Ramsey) and her sister, Pam. I went to school with Pam, and my sister went through school with Patsy... I would never believe in a million years that she had anything to do with it. Now, John Ramsey, I don't know, I never knew him. My Mom has always had a great 'gut instinct' for things, and, she always thought Ramsey's son had something to do with it.
I wonder if we'll ever know..................

Actually yes, DNA found on the little girls underwear did not match any family member and they have been cleared.

That's great... I'm glad it was no member of the family. At least not the immediate family.
Yea, I just heard that on the local news too... since the Paugh family is from here, and lots of family still live here, they cover it pretty close locally.
Well, we know more about who 'didn't' do it... still wonder who did...

I never believed they had anything to so with it. When I saw a reporter trying to make it look like they were guilty because Patsy Ramsey took her daughter to the dr. more than usual for colds and sniffles, it pretty much seemed like they were using anything they could to make her look bad.
Any Mother who was abusing her child in any way would not take her to the dr. too often. To me she seemed like an overprotective mother, not an abusive mother. I felt really bad for the family and the way they were treated by the press and society.
I have always believed that a disgruntled employee had something to do with it since the ransom was close to the amount he, John Ramsey received as a Christmas bonus. I think there are a lot of clues to the killers identity in the ransom letter the police overlooked because they were trying so hard to pin it on the family.

I dont think the sketch and the guy look anything alike. The guy has a square face and full lips, the sketch shows someone with a diamond shaped face and thin lips. The hair is different too. The only resemblence is that they are both clean shaven white guys. Anyways that guy didn't do the murder, he just was a weirdo that wanted attention

So sorry they weren't cleared before Patsy died.It must have been so hard, the murder of your daughter and having people think you did it.
