I guess the only alternative parents have is to keep the kids out of school if they disapprove of whats being taught there. I applaud the kids in Kentucky who said the Lords prayer after they were told they couldn't, more people need to stand up for what they believe in. Good for them.

Yep, that's why I was so picky when choosing her school. I pay a lot for it so it should meet my standards.

I sent both of mine to private schools once they finished grammar school because I thought the curriculum sucked. The interesting thing is DS was in Catholic school and now as an adult is agnostic and possibly Atheist (we don't discuss it all that much) and DD was in a non-religious private school and is Christian.

My ex went to a private Christian school also; he's an Atheist now too.
My Dd goes to a private school and they have no religious holidays or anything, but one group of 8th graders hold hands and say a prayer before class. They just bow their heads and do it silently, no one has a problem with it.
Her World Religions course was pretty cool and even I learned some things. She's in 2nd grade and they did a play with bits from about 12 different religions, it was very interesting.

Was anyone aware that today is National Prayer Day.
The white house isn't doing any of the traditional National Prayer Day things.
Of course BHO won't be honoring the occasion.

And you would like them to do what?
Do some kind of ceremony or something just because you think they should?
Wouldn't that be like a forced prayer? Not a real one?

It is an American tradition to have a prayer service at the white house.
I guess we won't see Christmas at the white house either.

However, BHO's home state Hawaii has decided to set aside Sept. 24 as Islam day.

Well, it doesn't look like it is a tradition anymore. He chose not to do it, that is his choice.

Well if you are Christian you should be praying everyday, not just when someone decides to declare it.
The more you complain, the longer God makes you live.

You know he signed a proclamation honoring it, not slamming it or whatever you are thinking.

It's been an American tradition that started before 1795.
I guess it takes someone that isn't American to break such a long tradition.
It's not surprising the people that are acting very immature over this.
They seem to be pretty consistent.
In some ways I really pity you.
