    Hard Porn Interrupts TV Documentary

BERLIN (Reuters) - German viewers of a TV documentary on the human body got more detail than they bargained for when the program was interrupted by scenes of hardcore sex, a cable channel said on Thursday.

Scores of outraged science fans called XXP TV to complain after an episode from the BBC's "Superhuman" series examining respiratory disorders was replaced by images of group sex from the Spice Platinum channel involving one man and several women.

Monika Weitkamp of the Berlin-based documentary channel said the cable carriers had mixed up the feeds. The voiceover for the documentary, dubbed into German, continued during the pornographic interlude.

"A lot of people watching it with their kids called up in a rage to complain. They'd probably never seen anything like it in their lives," she said.

NAPLES, June 18, 2003 - A six-year-old girl was heartbroken when her small lemonade stand was put out of business because she didn't have a temporary business permit. A neighbor called the police and her stand was shut down.

"Gotta get ready for the sale," said Abagail.

Even though she's only 6 years old, Abagail prepares for another day at work. "We like making money at our lemonade stand. We want it to stay cold so they can have cold lemonade on hot days," she said.

A young entrepreneur who does the cleaning even the advertising. And it is paying off. "We are making lots of tips in our tip jar," said Abagail.

But a few days ago, Abagail and her friends were put out of business by a neighbor. "We didn't have a permit so she called the cops," said Abagail.

The police arrived and shut her down.

"We had to take down our lemonade stand," said Abagail. Abagail did not have a temporary business permit, which is technically a city violation.

"So we had to do something else to play," said Abagail.

"I was kind of shocked because I didn't know we needed a permit for 6 year old girls to sell lemonade," said K.C. Shaw, Abagail's mom.

According to the city, they have to act on a formal complaint.

"Normally we don't get involved in it but once we do get a formal request we must take action," said Al Hogrefe of the city of Naples.

So Abagail's mom went to the city code enforcement office with wallet in hand, prepared to buy a permit.

"$35 every single time for a single use," said Shaw.

Not wanting to be sour, the city played Mr. Niceguy.

"No we did not charge her, no," said Hogrefe.

They did finally get the permit.

"Basically a blank check to have as many lemonade stands as we can stand," said Shaw.

So Abagail is back in business and learned laws can be tough, even for a six year old's lemonade stand.

Shaw said the police officers who shut down the stand felt terrible, but they had to do their job. One of the officers even bought a glass of lemonade from Abagail.

Saudi Police Lift Veil on Woman Driver

RIYADH (Reuters) - A woman who tried to get around a ban on female drivers in Saudi Arabia by dressing up as a man was caught out when she was ordered to undergo medical checks, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

Police became suspicious when they stopped the woman's car at a patrol point in the northern town of Hail. "She was sent to hospital where medical examinations proved without a doubt that she was a woman with all the natural female body parts," the daily al-Riyadh said.

It was not clear what punishment the woman would now face. Women in the strict Islamic state, where they must wear a veil in public, usually have a male driver.

Temple Candid Camera to Spy on Dumping of Pets

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's most revered Buddhist temple is installing closed circuit television cameras in a bid to stop the dumping of pets, a local newspaper reported on Thursday.

Officials at the 219-year-old Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok have set up the cameras hoping to catch a growing number of people dumping unwanted cats and dogs which are leaving droppings in areas where thousands of worshippers kneel and pray.

"Offenders captured on camera will be banned from our compound," temple worker Thirarat Chandra-songkham told the Nation newspaper.

Buddhists revere all life and shady temples throughout tropical Thailand are traditional sanctuaries for stray cats and dogs.

If someone has an affair with a married person, they are interfering with the contract between the married couple. The mistress/scoundrel contributes to the dissolving of said contract if there is a divorce and should be held accountable.

Just another reason to sue someone is our sue happy society. You die from smoking, your family sues the tobacco companies, your kid get fat, you sue McDonalds, your hubby can't keep it in his pants, you sue the woman.
Some mornings it's not worth the effort of chewing through the restraints.

Florida Boy Killed by Gator During Swim
    By MIKE SCHNEIDER

TAVARES, Fla. (AP) - A 12-year-old boy swimming in the Dead River was dragged under and killed by an alligator minutes after two friends spotted the reptiles in the water and screamed at him to get out.

The alligator - estimated at eight to 11 feet - surfaced at least once with the boy, Bryan Jeffery Griffin, in its jaws, but quickly disappeared Wednesday under the dark water, witnesses said.

On Thursday, sheriff's deputies trapped and killed seven eight- to 11-foot alligators in their search for the one that killed the boy.

``They feel fairly confident that one of the gators is the one responsible,'' sheriff's spokesman Lt. Nick Pallitto said.

Trappers planned to search for more alligators in the half-mile-long river Thursday night and kill any larger than eight feet, to be on the safe side.

A friend of Bryan's, Justin VanGorder, 14, said the gators were around all day as the boys swam near a marina about 30 miles northwest of Orlando.

``Every time we saw them, we would get out of the water,'' but Bryan stayed in, Justin told the Orlando Sentinel. ``We screamed at him to get out, but he wouldn't.''

The alligators will be examined in the laboratory for human tissue, bite patterns and fibers stuck in teeth to determine which one killed the boy.

Authorities said complaints about alligators have increased lately because so many are turning up around rain-bloated retention ponds, ditches and canals. It is also the end of their mating season.

Florida has had 12 other fatal alligator attacks since the state began keeping track in 1948. The most recent came in September 2001, when an 81-year-old man bled to death after his leg was bitten off below the knee.

Well I believe the one about the roasting dog. Our neighbor is the fire captain and they go to many fires that burn out of control and they find the people eating dog meat. I guess they got use to it in their home land and they still do it here. I just hate to see people lose their pets to this.

Clearly you have never found yourself in the situation. I have.
To have an affair takes TWO PEOPLE. Is it fair for one to take all the responsiablity ? If you know a person is married that should make them "Off Limits". If someone participates in the breaking of a contract, they should not be held accountable ?

'Prince of Pot' Says, Like, Come to Toronto Dude

TORONTO (Reuters) - The self-proclaimed "Prince of Pot" said on Thursday that Canada's biggest city could stage a tourism renaissance in the wake of the SARS outbreak if it opened its doors to a risk-free summer for marijuana smokers.

Marc Emery, who runs a lucrative mail-order seed distribution company in British Columbia and owns Internet-based Pot-TV, said Toronto, which has seen tourism plunge because of an outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome that has killed 35 people, could benefit from a more relaxed attitude toward marijuana use, especially now that the federal government plans to ease its marijuana laws.

"Marijuana -- that means fun times, parties, a cool city and an enlightened state of mind," Emery told a crowd gathered in front of Toronto's police headquarters.

Cradling a marijuana plant in the crook of his arm, and a pipe in one hand, Emery said: "Believe me, marijuana people don't create problems like alcohol people. You want those kinds of tourists who are laughing, having a good time, and eating a whole lot in Toronto restaurants."

Last month, the Canadian government introduced legislation to end criminal penalties for the possession of small amounts of marijuana.

Under the bill, people caught with 15 grams (half an ounce, or enough for about 15 to 30 joints) or less of cannabis would only be fined, and criminal penalties would be reduced on those growing up to 25 marijuana plants.

Statistics released on Thursday showed the number of visitors to Ontario in April fell 24 percent from a year earlier. The travel slump coincided with a World Health Organization warning against travel to Toronto for one week in April because of SARS.
