Welcome to Illinois, don't forget we are broke too. You should see the property taxes.

Hoping to start couponing again, I have a little more time and need a distraction so I think this is the way to go, I can donate what I don't use to the Senior Center food bank.

Good luck trying to find decent coupons! Those that come in the Sunday paper are a joke anymore. Dog food, cosmetics, shampoo, and vitamins! Never any real FOOD. (Unless you think a lousy dollar off 3 boxes of over-priced Kellogg's cereal is worth clipping).
I used to walk out of my grocery store having used about $20 in coupons. Now I'm lucky if I use $5 worth. I shop Aldi's more often.....produce and cereal is waaaay cheaper!

I've noticed. But last week CVS has Honey Bunches Of Oats for 1.99 a box, no coupons but was much cheaper then the store. I've been buying a lot of groceries from CVS and Walgreens, they always seem to be right across the street from each other. I've been tracking sales, we should be coming up on .49 cans of Del Monte vegs and stewed tomato's at County Market, I use about 3 cans a week more or less and will buy enough to get through March or April. Max is usually 12 cans so I will make several trips during the week. I've also found Menards puts food on sale and have done quite well there also. I've started going to Aldi's now that they have built one closer to my edge of town but if I bring the hubby he finds tools. LOL Coupons.com has good things every now and then and for meat I've been going by the cooler with the 2 to 3 dollar off because of the sale by date. Got some nice stuffed pork chops 1.50 each a couple weeks ago and sliced pork already BBQ rubbed a 6 pack which made them 75 cents each. Still have my Sams card, Mom's and my hobby was to go to Sams and I get 2 lb bagged romaine for 2.95, their cooked chickens are 4.99. I get a lot of things for my father-in-law there but without shopping for 3 families I wonder if it will be worth my while to keep the card. Aunt Millie? mailed me 3 $1 coupons after I had problems printing them from their site, so that was .69 a loaf. Waiting for the holiday sales and will stock up on baking supplies, soup and chili should be going for 10 for 10 and they will put out coupons. I love to put chili on a baked potato, so 2 potato's and a can of chili is a dinner in itself. There is just the 2 of us.
