It's Teacher Appreciation Week, but today is actually Teacher Appreciation Day!! That is the day when children and their parents are encouraged to show their appreciation for their teachers.

Our Teachers do so much for our children so it's time to show them just how much we care. It's easy to forget how much teachers do for our children each day.

I can honestly say that my children have been blessed with some pretty awesome teachers. I am so thankful for that. Because of them my kids love school!!

My little guy would much rather be at school them on any holiday break. That really makes me happy and I can thank his teacher for that.

Don't you think it is time for us to show our teachers just how grateful we are for all that they do? It doesn't have to be much. In all the years my kids have attended school I have found that a homemade gift means so much.

It can be a special card, flowers, a basket of apples, a yummy treat, breakfast, a home baked cake, pie or a craft made by your child. We usually make a variety of homemade treats and include something crafty.

This year was no different......... We made Candy Jars filled with M&M's and a poem attached. "You're My M&M". Which represents You’re a “Magnificent” and “Marvelous” teacher!

I love this poem and this gift cost hardly anything to put together. I always have canning jars, ribbon and fabric on hand, so all we had to do was purchase some M&M's.

We chose plain and the new pretzel ones. We printed out the poems and the kids cut out and glued them onto construction paper using scalloped scissors. I have included the poem below.

Each color of the M&M's represent something special.

    You’re My M&M

Green: is for the inspiration you give to me each day.

Blue: is for your patience in showing me the way.

Orange: is for your warmth and caring smile.

Yellow: is for the way you can always make me smile.

Red: is for my life that you have touched this year.

You’re a very special teacher just like this jar, that’s clear!

You place knowledge in your children’s hands
and melt into their hearts and lives forever.

You’re a “Magnificent” and “Marvelous” teacher!

Thank you for being my M&M!
Isn't that the sweetest poem. If you would like to make one of these cute little candy jars, I have included some easy step by step photos and directions.

Also on this site : Last year we made these cute little "Flower Pot Pens" pictured below. The teachers loved them and they looked so cute sitting on their desks. These little flower pot pens also make great Mothers Day gifts. Just click on the flower pot pen link above for a step by step photo tutorial on how to make them.

Another pretty teacher gift is a "Crayon Goodie Jar".

    Homemade Gelatin Air Fresheners!
April 27, 2013 by Plant Therapy | Leave a comment

Mmmmmmmmm. These smell divine! In my search for homemade Mother’s Day Gift Ideas, I found THIS post about homemade Gelatin Air Fresheners using essential oils! Who would have guessed?! I think they are beautiful and they smell wonderful, perfect for Mother’s Day!!!

    What you will need:

■1 once granulated or powdered gelatin (Will be available on posergy.com 4/27 )
■2 cups water divided into (2) 1 cups
    ■1 Tbsp of salt
■20-30 drops of you favorite Essential Oils (I used Sensual and Tranquil)
■Food coloring You only need like one or two drops. I think I added to much! (optional)
■Heat proof container to put gelatin air fresheners in
    ■small sauce pan
    ■Stick to stir gelatin with

Bring one cup of water to a boil in the small saucepan. Add the gelatin. Whisk until smooth and gelatin has dissolved. Once gelatin is dissolved add the salt and second cup of water. Set aside.

Add the essential oils and food coloring to the jar. Dump the gelatin mixture on top and stir. Allow to cool.

Aren’t these great! They smell so good and I think they are so cute. I used a large size gelatin to get a texture. I wanted to be able to stir mine when the smell got low. I love the way it turned out. They kind of look like the Crystal Air Fresheners. Nobody would guess that you made these yourself. Plus, they are not full of all of the toxic perfumes!! Your Mothers, and everyone else in their lives, will thank you!!!!

Because we believe in the power of essential oils, and know of their incredible benefits, we want them to be used in as many households as possible. Plant Therapy was founded with one goal in mind... we want to provide the highest quality essential oils (and accessories) at a price that everyone can afford. Plant Therapy provides oils that are 100% pure, undiluted and therapeutic grade. We source each oil from top suppliers around the world, buy in large volume, and negotiate the best prices possible. We then pass those savings on to you, the consumer! Although many questions are covered in our FAQ section at PlantTherapy.com, we get 2 questions over and over, so we will address them here. 1) Are your essential oils as good as ________? 2) Why are they so much cheaper? 1. YES! Certain oils can only be purchased from certain countries because that’s the only place the plant grows. Every country has a testing entity (think of our FDA) that determines whether the oils are fragrance grade, food grade, or therapeutic grade. What this means is that every company selling that particular oil is purchasing it from the same country and it’s undergoing the same testing before it leaves that country stamped as “therapeutic grade.” Now, upon arrival at the warehouse, most companies, including Young Living, doTERRA, and Plant Therapy will conduct their own testing to determine if the quality meets their standards. We do this to make sure that our oils we are buying are of the best grade and quality! 2. “So why is there such a big difference in price?” This is where it becomes enlightening. Every company selling therapeutic grade frankincense boswellia is purchasing it from the same country. However, when it gets here the company will determine its price point based on over-head and profit. Some companies need to mark the price up enough so that their up-lines can all make a profit. They need to make sure they can afford their office buildings both in the US and abroad. They need to make sure the price allows them to take their top dealers on cruises or vacations. And they need to make sure the price allows them to buy a car for the top company sellers. The price might even need to cover the company jet. When you purchase a bottle of essential oils from Plant Therapy, you are paying for the oil and a very modest profit. We are not a multi-level marketing company. You’re not paying the up-line, you’re not paying for a cruise or a car or a company jet. It is our intent to get our oils in the hands of the people who need them by making them affordable to everyone.
AWESOME site - lots of great ideas
