Happy New Year and welcome 2019!. Hoping and praying for a much better year than last for everyone. Resolutions, going to spend much less time on FB, I'm so tired of the political stuff and the bashing. I will check on friends and their families just not as often. Hoping to spend less money this year so I am depending on money saving posts and I'll try to do my best to do the same. Going to attempt to cook more at home, we eat a lot of processed foods and will try to change that habit, but I need to learn to cook first. LOL Going to try to get out of the house more, one of the things I've done on FB is to look for free events in our area and post them to our electronic calendar. If you don't use one I highly recomend it, I use the Google calendar, it syncs on our computers and our phones, keeps Dr's appointments, meetings and etc all in one place, I've given us 2 different colors so we know who has what. Of course there are the stand by's, declutter, give stuff away we don't need, fix things around the house, eat better, eat less, walk more. I learned there are several courses available on our library system, Lynda.com and Rosetta Stone, I plan to take full advantage of those as well as download more books to this old reader I have. Wish I could cut Cable all together but we are in a low lying area with lots of trees and I don't have an antenna tall enough to get local TV, but I'm going to par it down some. I've started a list in the memo app on my phone with room sizes, window sizes etc so if I come across something at a sale I'll know if it will fit or what I am looking for in a project. I've spent so much time taking care of others these last few years I'm going to try to take better care of myself and be less critical of my shortcomings. I used to have amazing organizational skills and I look around and think OMG WTH happened, going to work on that too. The big thing is to limit my time on the computer and watching TV, going for quality not quantity, I will be checking on this site and a couple others more and many others less, go back to using coupons and rebates. As always looking for major life changes and to make sure I am completing them I am going to post what I've done and how many changes I've been able to make. If you have any suggestions please feel free to post. Let me know what changes you are going to make in your lives. God Bless.

Do you have wi-fi where you live?
My niece uses Roku for tv. (She bought me one for Christmas, since I don't have tv all). She gets HUNDREDS of channels!
It's around $30 at Wal mart, and there is no monthly fee. (Unless you want certain channels like HBO, Net Flix, etc...).

No resolutions for me. Too much pressure. lol

I'm not too good with resolutions, but I do want to get rid of stuff and get better organized. Getting in better shape would be helpful. I'd like to find a way to sell some of my jewelry inventory (used to have a small business) and make some funds for various project (some home improvement, more travel, etc.) Also, I want to explore more creative outlets.

I don't make resolutions...I make a "Goal" list every year. I made all my goals for 2018...examples, don't laugh it's just for me

Put more into my Christmas Club account than last year. *if you don't have one, get one. I put all my change and trade money in it..I was pretty proud of myself :D

Start Christmas shopping early.

Send out all birthday cards/gifts on time

go on a trip somewhere (May 2018, we went to Turks and Caicos) and a few small road trips

Pay off a bill

These are just a few out of maybe 15 I have/had written down, I check them off at the end of the year when I start my new one. Actually, doing it later today lol

Why would we laugh? Those are pretty reasonable and sensible goals. :D

I belong to a credit union instead of a bank, and try to put at least $10 in to my Christmas Club every month. Doesn't always happen, lol, but at least there's some extra money come time to withdraw it.

I start Christmas shopping the day after Christmas! lol. (Seriously....I DO!). Especially kids toys. My great-nephews are only 2 and 5, and I don't like to spend a lot of money on toys I know they will out grow. So as soon as I see something marked down, I'm on it! (oh, and a new great-nephew on the way in March!)

I have one bill in particular I'm determined to pay off this year! I'm hoping to pay it off as soon as I get money back from taxes.

Good luck on your list!

The all sound great to me. Starting Christmas shopping now for next year is a great idea. Hats, scarves and gloves are always a great thing to give because everyone always loses one or it gets torn, fuzzy socks with the grippers on the soles are nice, I wear mine all the time when I'm home. Toys that never go out of style, puzzles, are also a great idea.
