Dancing With the Stars 2013 Results, Scores Tonight - Changes for Season 17
By Staff Sep 16, 2013

The Fall 2013 Dancing With the Stars kicks off on tonight (September 16, 2013) and the new lineup is ready show off their moves on DWTS.

A whole new lineup of celebrities and their professional dance partners will be battling it out for the Mirror Ball Trophy for season 17 and there are a lot of changes to the show this season.

The hosts tonight are exactly the same as last season, though as are the judges.

Familiar faces Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke Charvet will make sure the show moves along smoothly and the three judges are still the fun to watch Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli will dish some strong opinions all season long.

Big Changes for this year…

For DWTS 2013, some really big changes - the show has been pulled back to just one night a week, broadcast on ABC on Monday night at 8 PM ET. The Tuesday results show will be eliminated. That means Monday will be a performance show and a results show, and Monday night will be elimination night for one couple.

However - for tonight - no one will go home.

The eliminations start next week and someone will be voted off on DWTS.

Here's how it works - your votes still count, but for some votes, not until the next week.

Viewer votes will be counted and combined with the judges’ scores from weeks 1 and 2 for the first elimination next Monday night. That pattern will continue throughout the year, as each week an elimination will take place on Monday night (after tonight's show, where everyone stays).

The dancers are LIVE.

Check out the new DWTS lineup below - we have the celebrity and their dance partner along with the dance performed and the judges scores from tonight.

Despite a handful of incidents which threatened to sideline a few "Dancing With the Stars" contestants, all eleven celebrity couples managed to make it to the ballroom floor where they celebrated the glitz and glamour of old Hollywood. Most notably, viewers were nearly robbed of Bill Nye the Science Guy's fantastically wacky footwork due to a partially torn ligament in his knee suffered during last week's televised routine. Despite a grim prognosis from his doctor, the ever-inventive star found a creative solution around the impediment by incorporating robotic moves into his futuristic jazz dance. While praised for an admirable attempt, the judges delved out the lowest scores of the night to Nye and his pro partner, Tyne Stecklein.

Additionally, a sprained a ligament threatened to sideline "Pretty Little Liars" star Brant Daugherty, creating a bit of a snag in practicing his fast-paced quickstep. If that wasn't enough, the actor revealed during rehearsals that he was robbed at gunpoint earlier this week. Fortunately, Daugherty escaped the confrontation injury-free, but the thief managed to make off with his dance shoes.

Christina Milian and Bill Nye were determined to be in jeopardy for week three, but Nye was ultimately sent home.

Said a disappointed Nye, "What breaks my heart is Tyne not being able to stay in."

From best to worst, here's how all of the contestants stacked up in week three:

-Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd: 27, 30 (9,9,9) Quickstep

-Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff: 26/30 (9,8,9) Quickstep

-Christina Milian and Mark Ballas: 26/30 (9,8,9) Charleston

-Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Sasha Farber: 25/30 (9,8,8) Quickstep

-Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy: 25,30 (8,9,8) Foxtrot

-Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani: 24/30 (8,8,8) Rumba

-Bill Engvall and Emma Slater: 24/30 (8,8,8) Paso Doble

-Amber Riley and Derek Hough: 24/30 (8,8,8) Charleston

-Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke: 24/30 (7,7,8) Cha-cha-cha

-Valerie Harper and Tristan McManus: 16/30 (6,5,5) Cha-cha-cha

-Bill Nye the Science Guy and Tyne Stecklein: 16/30 (6,5,5) Jazz

Tune in to "Dancing With the Stars" next Monday on ABC when 10 couples return for another round of performances! Plus, two-time mirror ball champ Julianne Hough is making her triumphant return to the show as a guest judge while Len Goodman is away.

Valerie Harper sent home on 'DWTS,' guest judge Julianne Hough brings spunk
Oct. 8, 2013, 8:13 AM EST ~ Entertainment Tonight.

Two-time mirror ball champ Julianne Hough made her triumphant return to the ballroom in the role of guest judge on Monday's "Dancing With the Stars" with a refreshingly fair and balanced judging style. In place of Len Goodman, Hough flashed her even-handed paddles alongside co-judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, even getting a little flustered at the sight of a shirtless Brant Daugherty. "Wow, um, that was awesome ... when you took off the shirt," she remarked, letting the "Pretty Little Liar" star know about her status as a single woman after he delivered a particularly spicy salsa routine.

And although Amber Riley was nearly sidelined by a knee injury this week, her titillating tango put the "Glee" star at the top of the leaderboard with two of her competitors, Elizabeth Berkley and Corbin Bleu.

Valerie Harper delivered a sweet, yet low-scoring Viennese waltz which put the actress and her pro-partner Tristan McManus in last (7,7,7 -- 21/30) and ultimately out of the competition when judges scores were combined with fan votes. "It has been absolutely wonderful. Completely unique like nothing else in the world that you would ever do," said a smiling Harper, who praised the experience as a life-changer. "It was an opportunity for me to carry a message to folks."

Entertainment Tonight - "Dancing With the Stars" was spared an elimination last week due to a technical glitch with voting, but somebody unfortunately had to go on Monday night. Host Tom Bergeron opened Monday's show with a big announcement that Cher will perform and be a guest judge next week.

The action on the dance floor started off with a bang as well.

After pulling the first perfect score of the season last week, Elizabeth Berkley tapped out a fun-spirited quickstep with partner Val Chmerkovskiy, which merited a score of 27 from the judges.

Although she impressed the judges, Berkley would hardly be the only dancer to receive a 27 from the judges in their individual dance. Three other dancers collected the same score, two also on a trio of nines.

The next couple to hit the dance floor, Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd, was awarded a 27 for their dance as well despite Brant slipping on Peta's skirt during their jive, which he called their "toughest dance yet."

Actress Leah Remini then swayed her hips out of her comfort zone with a salacious salsa with Tony Dovolani that earned the pair 26 points for their individual dance. She revealed after her dance that she was nursing a rib injury, but kept the physically demanding lifts in the dance.

After Jack Osbourne garnered the first 10 of the night from judge Carrie Ann Inaba, Amber Riley, another injured dancer taking on a Latin dance, stole the spotlight with her saucy paso doble. Both she and partner Derek Hough gutted out their nagging injuries to earn a nearly perfect score of 29.

However, the spotlight wouldn't remain on the "Glee" actress for long.

Following his season-low score of 23 last week, Corbin Bleu awed the judges with a nearly flawless cha-cha that reasserted him as a frontrunner for the Mirrorball Trophy. Although the crowd wanted a perfect score for the actor, he was awarded a 29, with a nine coming from Len Goodman because of Bleu's excessive hip gyrating.

Comedian Bill Engvall took home the night's lowest score. Although the judges were keen on his enthusiasm, they weren't so keen on the technical aspects of his Vegas-inspired quickstep, and he was given a 23.

After wrapping their individual dances, the contestants then participated in a set of team dances, which was won by Team Foxing Awesome (Daugherty, Osbourne, Riley, Bleu [30]), who edged Team Spooky Bom Bom (Berkley, Polizzi, Engvall, Remini [27]).

The night of spectacular dancing then came to the inevitable elimination.

Although she nabbed three nines for her samba, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was sent packing, as the combination of her score of 27 plus last week's score and half of the votes tallied last week wasn't enough to carry her through to Week 8. She, as well as most of her fellow cast mates, was reduced to tears after the elimination was announced.

See all the individual dance scores below (listed in descending order):

Amber Riley and Derek Hough: 29/30 (10,10,9) Paso Doble
Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff: 29/30 (10,9,10) Cha-cha
Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy: 27/30 (9,9,9) Quickstep
Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd: 27/30 (9,9,9) Jive
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Sasha Farber: 27/30 (9,9,9) Samba
Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke: 27/30 (10,8,9) Jive
Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani: 26/30 (9,8,9) Salsa
Bill Engvall and Emma Slater: 23/30 (8,7,8) Quickstep
