If you purchased ground beef recently, make sure to check the label before you cook with it. According to the USDA, Kansas-based meat producers the National Beef Packing Company recalled 50,000 pounds of ground meat in response to a possible E. Coli contamination. The same company recalled 22,737 pounds of beef for the same reason in June. The following packages, which were already distributed throughout America, were officially recalled and should be disposed of immediately:

When I buy a 10 pound pack of meat - I take it home and split it into smaller portions and freeze them. I would have thrown away the packaging and have no way to check numbers.
