White House presses for team of ‘nudge’ experts to sway American behavior
By Cheryl K. Chumley - The Washington Times Tuesday, July 30, 2013

The White House has kicked off several federal projects aimed at influencing how Americans react to certain policy reforms, going so far as to solicit behavior experts to join a British-style “Behavioral Insights Team” to help nudge voters into accepting key political programs.

“Behavioral sciences can be used to help design public policies that work better, cost less and help people to achieve their goals,” a document on the government program states, Fox News reported.

The document, emailed by White House senior adviser Maya Shankar and obtained by Fox News, also seeks applicants to join the federal government’s behavior modification team.

England already has one such group; it’s called the “Behavioral Insights Team,” and has recently recommended to the government how best to compel Brits to pay their taxes, Fox News reported.

The main thrust of the White House-backed group: To “experiment” with ways to control, sway and tweak Americans’ behaviors so they do everything from saving more money for retirement to curbing energy uses and trimming energy costs, Fox News reported.

The new program has already been used in conjunction with Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Agriculture policies, Fox News said. And it hails from ideas discussed years ago, most notably on the heels of publication of a 2008 book written by President Obama’s former regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein, who referred to such government actions as “nudges.”

Advocates say nudging helps move the political process along, absent regulation. But detractors say nudging relies on inaccurate data to drive Americans into compliance.

“I am very skeptical of a team promoting nudge policies,” said Michael Thomas, an economist at Utah State University, to Fox News. “Ultimately, nudging … assumes a small group of people in government know better about choices that the individuals making them.”

And sometimes, that small group of people actually promotes something that’s wrong — for instance, when small teams of scientists argued at one point that trans-fats were actually more healthful than saturated and unsaturated fats, he said. “Now we know this is an error,” Mr. Thomas said, in the Fox News report.

They must have changed the name, in the past it was just called "Brain Washing".

...

Guess I'll just start calling this administration 'The Borg' - resistance is futile.....

Global warming caused by man ...

...

This is from former regulatory czar Cass Sunstein. He wrote a book titled "Nudge". He's a huge anti gun nut. He won't take your guns, he'll just "nudge" you into giving them up. This guy is as spooky as spooky can get. He's also a huge advocate for FDR's Second Bill of Rights. The right to a job, the right to a house, the right to food...etc.

..

Truth motivates the Noble Lies of the Psychopaths.

..

It is really long overdue that We the People reign in the federal government's antics. We let Bush get away with FAR too much, and Obama just used Bush as a starting point while continually blaming him for every failure and abuse in his own administration

..

Brainwashing, propagandizing, nudging. It's all the same. Every Fabian totalitarian does it until they have enough control to use force and murder etc without fear of a successful uprising.

NBC to produce four-hour Hillary Clinton miniseries
July 27, 2013 05:18 PM

At the top of NBC‘s TCA presentation, entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt announced that it has put in development four event series/miniseres as part of its push in the arena. They include 4-hour miniseries Hillary, about Hillary Clinton to star Diane Lane.

Oscar nominee Courtney Hunt (Frozen River) will script the project which recounts Clinton’s life as a wife, mother, politician and cabinet member from 1998 to the present as she goes from First Lady to US Senator and then Secretary of State.

Asked whether the mini would approach Clinton as a great tough woman or a controversial figure, Greenblatt said, “it’s going to be all of those things.”

According to FEC records, Greenblatt donated thousands of dollars to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2007/2008. No doubt the miniseries will be a very critical and brutally honest four hour campaign ad for Hillary 2016.

The parts of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky haven’t been cast yet. Feel free to make your actor nominations.
