Attorney General Eric Holder might not be sticking around for a second term.
Holder told law school students at the University of Baltimore School of Law that he does not know if he will stay in his job.
“That’s something that I’m in the process now of trying to determine,” Holder said. “I have to think about, can I contribute in a second term?”
Holder says he needs to sit down with his family and President Obama to see if he wants to continue on the job.
“ really ask myself the question about, do I think there are things that I still want to do? Do I have gas left in the tank? It’s been an interesting and tough four years, so I really just don’t know,” Holder told students.
Poor guy. What a tough time he’s had. Hey, you know who doesn’t have any gas left in the tank? Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
And then, of course:
Holder has been under fire from congressional Republicans for what he knew about the botched “Fast and Furious” operation where the U.S. allowed guns to be sold illegally in hopes to track Mexican drug cartels. Holder was found in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over documents regarding the operation. President Obama has invoked executive privilege.
When a Republican screws up, that’s the story. When a Democrat screws up, the story is that he’s “under fire by Republicans.” They never stop to ask why the Democrats don’t care.
Holder played his role. He held on, he lied and deflected and stonewalled, and Obama got a second term. So now Holder can afford to take a well-deserved rest.
Fast & Furious, Benghazi, whatever. Doesn’t matter now, right?

Clinton to Step Down Probably 'Days' After Inauguration

Hillary Clinton still intends to step down as secretary of state. That will take place likely "days" after President Barack Obama's second inauguration in January.
"The Secretary has been honored to serve as President Obama's Secretary of State, and has loved every minute of leading this Department and being part of the State family," a Clintons spokesman says in an email. "But yes, you can confirm yet again that she's been clear about her intention to leave after the first term."
When asked for clarification on what date Clinton would stepdown, the spokesman, Philippe Reines, says, "She has said that she wants to ensure continuity, and realizes the confirmation of her successor might take a period of days beyond that."
Reines, a long time Clinton loyalist, did not immediately respond to a question concerning what role he might play in (a possible) Clinton 2016 presidential campaign.

Looks as if FEMA is just a fair- weather friend.
Yesterday’s nor’easter proved too much for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s aid location in Tottenville, SI — which hung a sign reading “Closed due to weather” as the wintery storm blew into town.
Ten FEMA centers in the area reportedly suspended operations because of the storm, although the location with the sign at the Mount Loretto Community Center did open at noon.

Businesses in NJ that asked FEMA for financial help to rebuild were told no...FEMA told them they would have to rely on thier local banks for loans..Only problem is the banks will not give loans out, as reported by one business owner who was interviewed on the weather channel. Now that the election is over, these people are left out in the cold (no pun intended).

We all know that Government does not care about businesses, big or small (unless they are getting a nice sized piece of the pie). FEMA should be on a local level at the states so they will really step up to the plate and will be more motivated to do right by their state and as well as being held more accountable when they do a poor job... The way the system is set up now, the level of accountability depends on which party line the MEDIA is for or against...

Yeah, but if the local government and FEMA bungle their assistance after a natural disaster and no one reports it, did it really happen? Never heard much about Obama’s mishandling of the BP oil spill recovery (including his Sec. of Interior illegally shutting down all offshore drilling despite a court order, etc.).
As long as the right people are comfortable (hint: like the ones who attended Bette Midler’s posh Halloween party) it’s all good. It’s amazing how freeing it is to have a lapdog press covering for you.

We Forget

There is no permanence in politics. All is fleeting. All is cyclical. We find comfort in our cycle and distress when others rise to the top.
Right now, conservatives are bitterly disappointed. Some choose to check out mentally. Some have decided to throw in the towel. A few blame the American people. Many think the gig is up, the show is over, and destiny is undone.
Demography is not destiny and neither is the ever growing leviathan. Many think so now, but they forget the ebbs and flows of the tide of history. Conservatism is not done. The message of freedom and opportunity is not done.
No immigrant comes to the United States wanting to be on welfare. They come for a better life of hard work and success. What conservatives forget is that people forget.
And conservatives have done a terrible job reminding people.
Since Ronald Reagan rose from the ashes of the Goldwater movement, Republicans have articulated a message of freedom and opportunity — a rugged individualism that says if you work hard you can be what you want and do what you want. But people forget.
In the last decade or so, Republicans began to assume everyone just naturally agreed. They stopped explaining. They stopped being evangelists. Worse, conservatism morphed into Republicanism and instead of being about ideas, both became about the acquisition of power for the sake of power. Republicans no longer articulated a core set of principles through policy, but policies designed solely to keep them in power. The party leaders and many of its candidates began to do the same — freedom became a platitude, not a policy.
During Barack Obama’s tenure, Republicans tried to blur every line, make every compromise, and often surrendered before a weapon was even pointed at them. They did not articulate a positive conservative vision, but a defensive position that Obama was bad and they were good with little to show for it. They cut deals that sold out their core to preserve their power. They do so even today.
Republicans assumed Americans got it. They assumed Americans and Republicans were still speaking the same language. But they weren’t.
Politics is cyclical and Americans are forgetful. Republicans forgot that. They failed to keep advancing. They failed to keep explaining. They relied on on the tried and true that became the tired and stale.
Tax cuts? Yay!
Pro-life? Yay!
But what else? Under Republicans and Democrats alike, the tax code has grown more complex, the lobbyist class has grown richer, and the banks have gotten too big to fail.
Moving forward, the conservative movement from within the GOP needs to advance new ideas, not just dust off and repackage old ideas. The principles remain the same. The principles are fixed. But the ideas that advance those principles must fit into the twenty-first century.
The GOP should start with education reform. They should tackle tax reform. They should work the break up big banks by forcing big banks to capitalize further. They should not shy away from tackling social security and medicare reform — ideas that did not hurt them with senior citizens and will ultimately help them with younger voters. They should still fight to repeal Obamacare and explain to the American people why it is sucking the life out of the economy.
But more importantly, conservatives must be able to show Americans in this age of a stagnant economy that conservatism has ideas not just to make one prosperous, but also to help the poor and needy. There are those who do depend on and deserve a helping hand. If the GOP cannot show how small government lifts people up and provides for those who cannot, the GOP will fail.
Republicans should not be afraid to be obstructionist, but must be willing to explain that the obstruction prevents the passage of ideas that history once discarded before we all forgot.
These are exciting times for the conservative movement. But the conservative movement must get up and lead now — lead with conservative ideas for the GOP, not a Republican agenda packaged as conservative. We must begin again anew talking conservatism as evangelists, not fellow travelers. We must remember we are not in a permanent decline, but a cycle of politics that is only permanent if we let it be.
Our think tanks must stop producing white papers designed to woo donors and must produce ideas designed to persuade voters to limited government.
In 2004, George W. Bush beat John Kerry, delivering a surprising defeat to the Democrats. Two years later, the Democrats took the House and two years after that took the White House.
In 2014, like in 2010, Barack Obama’s base will not show up as it did in 2012 and 2008. In 2016, it will split between factions in a diminished field of a shallower bench with no guarantee that Barack Obama’s coalition is the Democrats’ coalition. The GOP will have a deep bench of articulate conservatives.
We must lay the groundwork now with fresh ideas embedded with timeless principles sold by voices who understand people forget and must be reminded why America is great and why conservatism helped make it that way. We must continue, as a conservative movement, challenging and ending the political careers of Republicans who carry the banner of conservatism while selling it out.
We must still be willing to fight against the implementation of Obamacare, a policy still opposed by a majority of Americans.
Be of cheerful heart. The world spins on and I fight on. Join me. Let’s take the country back as happy warriors for a cause we know is right that too many on our own side have forgotten is right.

EAST CARBON, Carbon County — A Utah coal company owned by a vocal critic of President Barack Obama has laid off 102 miners. The layoffs at the West Ridge Mine are effective immediately, according to UtahAmerican Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Murray Energy Corp. They were announced in a short statement made public Thursday, two days after Obama won re-election.
The layoffs are necessary because of the president's "war on coal," the statement said. The slogan is one used frequently during the election by Murray Energy CEO Robert Murray, who was an ardent supporter of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
In its statement, UtahAmerican Energy blames the Obama administration for instituting policies that will close down "204 American coal-fired power plants by 2014" and for drastically reducing the market for coal.

Trends in power generation have also put coal-fired plants at a higher risk for retirement. In its annual Energy Outlook, the EIA reports that 49 gigawatts of coal-fired capacity will be retired in the next eight years. That represents about one-sixth of the existing coal capacity in the nation and less than 5 percent of total electricity generation in the U.S.
"Lower natural gas prices, higher coal prices, slower economic growth, and the implementation of environmental rules all play a role in the retirements," the EIA report states.

CIA director submits his resignation to President Obama

WASHINGTON (RNN) - Gen. David Petraeus, director of the CIA, has resigned from his post due to an extramarital affair.
Petraeus submitted his resignation in a letter to President Barack Obama on Friday.
The letter noted that Petraeus had exercised "extremely poor judgment" in conducting the affair. Petraeus and his wife have been married for almost four decades.
"After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair," the letter stated. "Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours. This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation."
Obama will have to nominate a replacement for Petraeus, who has served as head of the CIA since September 2011. He was previously head of allied forces in Afghanistan.

“They tried it before – ‘We’re going to shut down the government, and we’re not going to raise the debt ceiling,’” he said. “If they want to go through that again, fine.”
“But we’re not going to be held subject to something that was done as a matter of fact in all previous administrations,” Reid said.
CNSNews.com then asked, “But will you support raising it by another $2.4 trillion?”
“If it has to be raised, we’ll raise it,” he said.
On Aug. 2, 2011, Congress and President Barack Obama reached a deal to raise the debt ceiling by $2.4 trillion. Now, after only 15 months, almost all of that additional borrowing authority has been exhausted, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.
Another $2.4 trillion increase would bring the debt limit to about $18.8 trillion, though we can stop referring to an continually increasing number as a limit. There’s not a ceiling or a limit to anything they’re doing. As Rod Serling used to say, the only boundaries are that of imagination — or nightmare if you’re on the paying end of it.

Obama has already laid the foundation for his next four years of Presidency – more green jobs, tackle global warming, raise taxes on the rich and create jobs for the poor. That will come at a hefty price of further government spending. In the first four years of his term Obama increased the Federal Debt by more than 45%, however, with more than $5 Trillion spent in promoting everything from solar panels to housing, the economy only grew by 7.1% during the same time frame (or a total of $905 Billion.) In other words it took more than $5.60 of debt to create $1 of economic growth.

The amount of debt required today to create a single dollars’ worth of GDP today is clearly unsustainable. However, the current Administration has been increasing Federal debt at a run rate of more than $1.2 Trillion annually to date. The understanding of the impact of increasing debt on economic growth is crucially important to understand.
As we discussed recently in “Debt and Deficits: Killing Economic Prosperity” it is “the economic impact of spiraling debt levels that have eroded economic growth. Debt is, by its very nature, a cancer on economic growth. As debt levels rise it consumes more capital by diverting it from productive investments into debt service. As debt levels spread through the system it consumes greater amounts of capital until it eventually kills the host. The chart below shows the rise of federal debt and its impact on economic growth.”

The current Administration, however, is trapped into the belief that “big government” is the solution to the long term economic ills. However, a simple look at the impact of debt increases on economic growth tells us that this approach is misguided. Regardless, as stated above, further spending increases are going to rapidly run into an antagonistic House of Representatives who will push to block any additional spending programs.
While political gridlock has been a positive for the economy during past Administrations – this cycle is different. Rising debt levels, weak employment, declining wage growth and rising inflationary pressures all act as a retardant to economic growth. Economic growth at sub-2% levels is not strong enough to promote the kind of employment growth needed to absorb increases in the natural working age population which continues to shove an ever larger portion of the population into the masses that have “given up looking for work.” In turn this increases the dependency on government support leading to further weakness in consumption and reduced demand which keeps employment weak.
While Bernanke has been flooding the system with monetary policy focused at suppressing interest rates it is fiscal policy from Congress that ultimately begins to clear the way for job creation. However, with the burden of ObamaCare just on the horizon, the threat of rising taxes and increased regulations covering everything from the financial industry to oil and gas – businesses are remaining defensive to protect weakening profitability.
While Obama will continue to increase the Federal Debt to well beyond 100% of GDP – the reality is that economic growth will continue to stall and muddle along at best. At the worst we are potentially facing another recession in the very near future. Either way the economy ahead will remain difficult and disappointing by almost any measure.

Overall, the set up going forward looks like it has in the past couple of years. It is unlikely that Obama will move to the center and be more of a politician with the best interest of the economy at heart. It is also just as unlikely that the Republicans will back down and begin to cooperate with the Senate. I could be wrong, of course, and if I am then I will chance my investment posture accordingly. However, the weight of evidence is stacked in favor of “more of the same” which means less for you and me.
Evidently, the folks at Zero Hedge don’t know John Boehner like we do. He’ll capitulate, and we’ll see more failed stimulus and greater debt — all to feed the welfare state, which continues to expand even as it grows more and more unsustainable.
The good news, though, is that businesses might soon have lots of available cheap labor, with the GOP already making noise about amnesty and comprehensive immigration reform in order to compete yet again with the Democrats at their own game of pandering identity politics.
And that could create some economic movement in the short-term while politically setting the country up for a permanent welfare state majority.
Were I not a liberty-loving defender of the Constitution and first principles — that is, an odious “purist” who keeps stupidly insisting that we reject the entire progressive paradigm as the false mapping of reality it is — I’d offer this advice to those libertarian capitalists who are trying to figure out how to negotiate these election results: sell your souls and become cronies. We are living in a state of liberal fascism. If profit is your driving force to the exception of all other motivators (be it an ideology or a simple and intuitive sense of justice), position yourselves to invest in what the Obama cronies are putting money into.
After all, most of it is yours, anyway.
Me, I’m resigned to being on the outside looking in. I haven’t the skill set to run with the manipulators and financial players looting the system and feathering their own nests. Attorney General Eric Holder said on Thursday he has not decided whether to stay on as the chief U.S. law enforcement officer in President Barack Obama’s second term. Holder, speaking to law students at the University of Baltimore, said he still must speak with Obama and with his own family and ask himself, “Do I have some gas left in the tank?”
“That’s something that I’m in the process now of trying to determine,” he said.

Also, J-Nap is reportedly under consideration to replace Holder when and if he leaves.

Nobody want’s to say it, hell nobody even want’s to think it, but… what if the Obama victory on Nov. 6th genuinely was a result of intentional Democrat voter Fraud? Why am I asking, is it just because I am a bitter clinger who can’t accept that Obama won reelection? Perhaps that’s true, but it’s also because, well the number really just do not add up. Mitt Romney won 3 million votes less than McCain while Obama lost 10 million votes of his own from 2008.
Where did those 3 million McCain voters go?
The main part of why I believed Romney would win this time because I knew the 10 million Obama supporters would sit home…but never in my worst nightmares did I imagine McCain voters would sit home. I counted on them to show up and bring friends this time to boot Obama out.

Only 51.56% of L.A. County voters cast their votes in 2012, compared to 65.6% in 2008, and 67.9% in 2004. Barack Obama received 700,000 fewer votes in 2012 than 2008, and got 300,000 fewer votes in the county than John Kerry did in 2004. Demographic changes overall have benefited Democrats, who are now more than 50% of county voter registration. Millennials ages 18-29 registered to vote in record numbers in L.A. County this year, largely due to new online voter registration.
But vote comparisons over the past three elections don’t seem to show that these new registered voters turned out to vote. For the record, Mitt Romney cratered in L.A. County also, with 350,000 fewer votes than McCain earned in 2008, and 413,000 fewer than Bush in 2004.

Vote fraud alert: One out of five registered Ohio voters is bogus

Vote fraud is no big deal, right? It hardly ever happens. It’s so rare that it’s not even worth discussing. Anyone who claims to take the integrity of our ballots seriously is cynically exploiting phantom fears for the purpose of suppressing the Democrat-loving minority vote.
To keep that silly narrative alive, it’s important not to read the Sunday edition of the Columbus Dispatch, in which readers were informed that “more than one out of every five registered Ohio voters is probably ineligible to vote.”
Furthermore, “in two counties, the number of registered voters actually exceeds the voting age population: Northwestern Ohio’s Wood County shows 109 registered voters for every 100 eligible, while in Lawrence County along the Ohio River it’s a mere 104 registered per 100 eligible.”
31 more counties report over 90 percent voter registration, which is a good 20 percent higher than the national average. The Buckeye State sure is civic-minded! Well, except that 1.6 million of the 7.8 million registered voters in the state haven’t voted in at least four years. So I guess they were civic minded, once upon a time. Never fear – I’m sure plenty of those “inactive” voters will reactivate themselves just in time for Barack Obama’s re-election.
You might think these astonishing statistics indicate a crisis-level voter registration problem requiring immediate attention, particularly since this is 2012, not 1912, and modern technology gives us extremely potent tools for accurately managing massive amounts of data. But Attorney General Eric Holder disagrees. Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted sent Holder a letter back in February, warning that “common sense says that the odds of voter fraud increase the longer these ineligible voters are allowed to populate our rolls… I simply cannot accept that.” Husted said existing federal regulations “limit Ohio’s ability to remove ineligible names, thereby increasing the chance for voter fraud.”
No one from the Justice Department ever responded. Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, which called Ohio’s voter registration train wreck to Husted’s attention, is now suing him for failing to take action, beyond issuing a “directive” to remove ineligible voters that Judicial Watch describes as “all bark and no bite,” since there is no evidence that anything was actually done.
Judicial Watch has already filed a similar lawsuit against the State of Indiana, and says other states with disturbing levels of ineligible registered voters include Mississippi, Iowa, Missouri, Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Florida, Alabama, California, and Colorado. Florida’s struggle to clean up its rolls, in the face of active hostility from Eric Holder’s Justice Department, has already made headlines.
Nationwide, the Pew Center for the States estimates about 24 million ineligible voter registrations, including “more than 1.8 million dead people listed as voters; about 2.75 million with voter registrations in more than one state; and about 12 million voter records with incorrect addresses, meaning either the voters moved or errors in the information make it unlikely any mailings can reach them.”

Under the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act (or MOVE Act), which was signed into law in 2009, the FVAP is supposed to assist service members with voting on military installations. This includes providing military members with voter information forms when they check in to a duty station, similar to the “motor voter” programs civilians see at DMV offices.
But a U.S. Department of Defense Inspector General report released in August found that FVAP hadn’t set up those voter assistance offices—in part because of funding problems, but also because of resistance from the Department of Defense. After the report came out, Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn wrote a letter to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta demanding better voter assistance for the troops.

According to the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association, scores of military absentee ballots cast in the 2012 Election will not be counted. U.S. Military personnel and their families are outraged: “Where the hell is this country’s moral compass?!” stated the mother of a 25 year old Marine who served in Afghanistan.
The military mail service is notoriously slow, and lawmakers have said that it could be almost two months after the election before ballots even arrive to be processed.
“We write to express concerns over another serious failure by the Department of Defense to safeguard the voting rights of our overseas military service members, which we believe could result in the imminent disenfranchisement of thousands,” stated a letter sent to Defense Department Secretary Leon Panetta by Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., John McCain, R-Ariz., Rob Portman, R-Ohio, and Marco Rubio, R-Fla..
Add to that the incident on October 19th, just two and a half weeks before the November 6th elections, when a transport plane crashed at Shindad Air Base, destroying almost 5,000 pounds of mail – including absentee ballots being sent to U.S. military serving in Afghanistan. A curiously large percentage of military absentee ballots are going AWOL, according to the Virginia Watchdog. In fact, ballot requests have seen a 92 percent decline, during one of the most high-profile elections in recent history. Coincidence? The Virginia Watchdog investigates:

With only 1,746 military voters in Virginia requesting absentee ballots so far this year — out of 126,251 service members in the state —the Military Voter Protection Project says the system has broken down.
It sounds like there has been a massive mishandling of paperwork for voters in the military. Just the fact that there are 124, 505 fewer absentee ballots requests in the system suggests that something has gone terribly wrong. How does one lose voting paperwork from over 120,000 members of the armed forces? That’s a good question.
Ok, so let’s put aside the question of whether it’s bitter sour grapes to ask whether Obama won through outright voter fraud, and ask the far more important question. What would be the legal course of action that would be taken if such an allegation were to be proven? And how could that course of action be instigated with the Democrat party being so firmly entrenched in the Department of Justice. Is there one single person in America that can honestly say they believe that Erick Holder would ever allow any legal action to be instigated? Or that Harry Reid would every allow the Senate to convene hearings on the matter?
If the Democrats did indeed employ the most wide spread and massive voter fraud in American history, what could, or dare I ask, would the Republican Party do about it?

While there had been speculation that the BLS may delay the release of its October nonfarm payroll number until after the election, it turned out there was no reason to worry. Perhaps this is because the number, while at stall speed, was not quite as horrible as some had expected (even if the change in average hourly earnings did tumble to new all time lows) and so boosted Obama’s reelection chances. There was, however, another closely tracked number which perhaps is far more indicative of the economic “growth” in the past 4 years, which certainly had a delayed release. The number of course is that showing how many Americans are on foodstamps, and usually is released at the end of the month, or the first day or two of the next month. This time the USDA delayed its release nine days past the semi-official deadline, far past the election, and until Friday night to report August foodstamp data. One glance at the number reveals why: at 47.1 million, this was not only a new all time record, but the monthly increase of 420,947 from July was the biggest monthly increase in one year. One can see why a reported surge in foodstamps ahead of the elections is something the USDA, and the administration may not have been too keen on disclosing.

Uh-Oh: With Reelection Out of the Way, We Are in for a Hard-Line Presidency

Most startling about Barack Obama’s win on Tuesday was the immediate, ominous dropping of the charade he had perfected for election season. Almost immediately, his demeanor changed and the attitude shift has been quite unsettling. His campaign slogan may have been “Forward,” but his post-election motto seems to be, “I am the law!”

“This was a central question during the election. It was debated over and over again, and on Tuesday night we found out that a majority of Americans agree with my approach.”
“Our job now is to get a majority in Congress to reflect the will of the American people. I’m not wedded to every detail of my plan. I’m open to compromise. I’m open to new ideas. I’m committed to solving our fiscal challenges. But I refuse to accept any approach that isn’t balanced.”
Okay, if he’s going to jam tax hikes down our throats, I would appreciate the courtesy of not pretending like he’s doing it for our benefit. If he’s going to act like a socialist, success-punishing tyrant, he should find the guts to push his agenda without claiming that such actions are the result of a mandate handed to him by the American people.
Furthermore, I cannot stomach having Obama, of all people, posture and lecture anyone on representing the will of the American people. When Americans get to vote on amnesty instead of having it decreed by King Barack I, then maybe I will be more inclined to listen to his viewpoint on representative democracy.
Finally, I sincerely do not believe he knows what “compromise” means. President Obama has been pushing for Republicans to give him what he wants, and then they can negotiate and “compromise” on the tax cuts for the “wealthy.” Obama stated that he did not want “long negotiations or drama,” and that we should, “…extend the middle-class tax cuts right now. Let’s do that right now.”
Sure, that makes sense. Tomorrow, I will go into a Ford dealership, ask for the keys and the title to a Mustang, and then sometime in the future we can negotiate what I will pay for it. Does that sound like a fair negotiation? If you said, “No,” then you must be a hard-lining obstructionist.
The extension for the tax cuts for the so-called “wealthy” are for people making $200,000 a year or for families pulling in $250,000 a year. While that may seem like a lot of money for people like you or me, such a gross income is not out of reach for upper-middle class, including successful private-business owners that have room to expand operations. While it is quite comfortable, let’s not pretend that $250,000 for a family of four will keep that family on Park Avenue. I further reject the notion that if a family has two nickels to rub together, it is the job of the government to swoop in to take “their fair share” and punish success.
I’m not going to lie; we will have some serious work to do for the next four years. We have a radical despot who now has no reelection bid hanging over his head. We need to stay the course and prepare for 2014 when we may be able to take the Senate and increase our foothold in the House.

Conservatives have voted more than 375,000 times since Election Day to pick up their marbles and go home. That’s how many virtual signatures appeared Monday night, as clocks in Washington, D.C. chimed midnight, on petitions asking President Barack Obama’s administration to allow 47 of the 50 U.S. states to secede from the country.
A petition from an Arlington, Texas man, launched Nov. 9 via the Obama White House website’s “We the People” tool, had more than 58,000 signatures. That’s more than twice the 25,000 it had Monday morning, a number required to trigger an automatic White House review, according to the administration’s own published rules.
similar petition from a Louisiana native crossed the 25,000 threshold as Monday drew to a close on the East Coast.
Launched Nov. 7, the day after Obama won re-election, the Pelican State’s spark set off an Internet-driven cascade of disaffected tea partiers and other conservatives looking — as one petition organizer told The Daily Caller via a “direct message” on Twitter — “just to do something, anything, to show we’re not going away quietly.”
It’s not clear whether, or to what extent, individuals are signing more than one petition. The White House’s online rules do not prohibit Americans from signing a petition that would not affect states where they live.

The only three states that lack secession petitions are Maine, Vermont and Washington.
According to the White House, petitions have 30 days to gather 25,000 signatures before the administration will automatically review them. One at least one occasion, however, President Obama responded to a petition that collected only 12,240 signatures: a request for the White House’s beer recipe.

America’s Future Tomorrow, Today, But With Twinkies!

Get used to stories like this one because you’re going to see a lot of them in the coming years.
Hostess Brands permanently closed three bakeries Monday, including a plant in St. Louis where 365 jobs were cut, in response to a bakers’ union strike that started Friday.
The bankrupt maker of Twinkies and Wonder bread said it’s trying to avert liquidating the entire company, and it shuttered three plants that were no longer able to produce and deliver products because of picket lines. The other plant closures are in Seattle and Cincinnati, where a combined 262 jobs were cut.
“We deeply regret this decision, but we have repeatedly explained that we will close facilities that are no longer able to produce and deliver products because of a work stoppage — and that we will close the entire company if widespread strikes cripple our business,” Hostess CEO Gregory Rayburn said in a statement.
Wholesale baker Hostess Brands, which is based in Irving, Texas, filed for bankruptcy in January and has fought with labor groups over contract changes throughout the year.
Contrary to what you may infer from listening to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama, businesses are not piggy banks that solely exist to keep people employed and pay taxes. They also don’t spring up like mushrooms after a hard rain just because the government builds a few roads and puts some stop signs in place.
To the contrary, businesses exist to make a profit. When that no longer becomes possible because of a changing marketplace or alternately, because of rising labor costs, exorbitant taxes, or new regulations, then the jobs go away, too.
When you disconnect from reality, as the bakers’ union did, and start to assume businesses are there to serve you instead of making a profit, you see what results. When the Democratic Party makes the same mistake and starts disconnecting its policy making from the profits and productivity that allows the government to pay its bills, it means less jobs, less opportunity, and more foolish people protesting themselves right out of a job.

Here, their argument is that Latinos, Asians, and other voters will never support Republicans in any number if we make illegal immigrants who share their ethnicity feel unwelcome and even threatened by deportation. Democrats and Latino activists will merely ground their charge that Republicans are anti-immigrant in the citizenship issue rather than the illegality one. Republicans will face exactly the same criticism as now, but against a background of wider publicity, without the solid “rule of law” argument they can cite when they oppose amnesty. Indeed, they would find themselves arguing the unsustainable case that immigration and citizenship should accommodate a permanent class of migrants without political rights. Eventually either the GOP would yield to political clamor and consent to citizenship for the amnestied or the courts would insist on one by degrees. So the end result of amnesty would be citizenship for 12 million poor, mainly Latino, migrant workers with a grudge against the GOP.
Here is a rough, back-of-the-envelope calculation of what that alone might mean. Let’s assume that only two-thirds of former illegals become U.S. citizens — that’s 8 million new Americans with the vote. (Given the Democrats’ determination to protect voter fraud, that might also mean somewhat more than 8 million new voters, but we won’t consider that in what follows.) Since these voters are poorer and less assimilated than Latinos as a whole, they will likely skew more Democratic than their ethnic fellows. Republicans would be optimistic if they counted on winning more than one-fifth of them — i.e., 1.6 million voters. On a 100 percent turnout, that would give the Democrats a net advantage of 4.4 million votes. On a more realistic assumption that these new voters would have a lower than average turnout — say, 50 percent — that would give the Democrats a net additional 2.2 million votes over Republicans. Those assumptions are fallible, admittedly, but they are not unrealistic.
So the bar that any advocate of amnesty has to meet is as follows: He must demonstrate how amnesty will ensure that the GOP also gains at least a net 2.2 million votes, plus one, as a result of the reform.

So, we’d be giving up 5 times that many votes over the long haul to get what — a 5%-10% boost with the other Hispanic voters for an election cycle or two while we lose twice as many conservative white voters who’d be so angry that they would stay home?
A Republican vote for that is a vote for political suicide. Nothing more, nothing less and any Republican who votes that way, no matter what his record looks like in other areas, deserves to be primaried and defeated.

This question has come back to me many times over the past several months.... Where are the Kennedys? (Besides drop kicking nurses in hospitals.) Why weren't they visible during Obama's campaigning? They are usually right there behind every democratic person lending their support. Where are they now? Why weren't they there when the presidential race was so tight? Wouldn't you think they would have rallied in support for Obama? I haven't noticed them, have you?

OBAMA: If this past week has done anything it should give us some perspective. I-I-I-If there’s one thing we should have, after this week, it should be a sense of perspective about what’s important. And I would like to think that members of that caucus would say to themselves “You know what, I disagree with the president on some things. We wish the other guy had won. We’re gonna fight him on a whole range of issues over the next four years. We think his philosophy is all screwed up. But right now, what the country needs is for us to compromise, get a deficit reduction deal in place, make sure middle class taxes don’t go up, make sure that we’re laying the foundations for growth, give certainty to businesses large and small, not put ourselves through some sort of self-inflicted crisis every six months, allow ourselves time to focus on things like preventing the tragedy in Newtown from happening again, focus on issues like energy and immigration reform, all the things that will make a determination as to whether our country grows over the next four years, ten years, 20 years, and if we could just pull back from the immediate political battles, if ya peel off the partisan war paint, then we should be able to get something done.”
I think, I think the Speaker would like to get that done. But an environment needs to be created not just among House Republicans but among Senate Republicans that says the campaign is over and let’s see if we can do what’s right for the country, at least for the next month! And then, we can re-engage in all the other battles that they’ll wanna fight.

Democratic New York Rep. Jose Serrano reintroduced a bill in Congress Friday to repeal the 22nd Amendment, which places term limits on the U.S. presidency.
The bill, which has been referred to committee, would allow Barack President Obama to become the first president since Franklin Roosevelt to seek a third term in office.
H.J. Res. 15 proposes “an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”
The bill is a reintroduction of H.J. Res. 17, which Serrano introduced in Congress in January 2011. It was referred to the House judiciary committee, but did not make it to a floor vote.
One challenge for Serrano — among many — is how to word the legislation so presidential term limits would automatically reinstated the next time a Republican is elected president.
If repealing the 22nd Amendment doesn’t work, look for Serrano to go for the next best thing by seeking to repeal the Second Amendment twice.

Conservatives have voted more than 375,000 times since Election Day to pick up their marbles and go home. That’s how many virtual signatures appeared Monday night, as clocks in Washington, D.C. chimed midnight, on petitions asking President Barack Obama’s administration to allow 47 of the 50 U.S. states to secede from the country.
A petition from an Arlington, Texas man, launched Nov. 9 via the Obama White House website’s “We the People” tool, had more than 58,000 signatures. That’s more than twice the 25,000 it had Monday morning, a number required to trigger an automatic White House review, according to the administration’s own published rules.
similar petition from a Louisiana native crossed the 25,000 threshold as Monday drew to a close on the East Coast.
Launched Nov. 7, the day after Obama won re-election, the Pelican State’s spark set off an Internet-driven cascade of disaffected tea partiers and other conservatives looking — as one petition organizer told The Daily Caller via a “direct message” on Twitter — “just to do something, anything, to show we’re not going away quietly.”
It’s not clear whether, or to what extent, individuals are signing more than one petition. The White House’s online rules do not prohibit Americans from signing a petition that would not affect states where they live.
The complete list of states with open petitions includes Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Nine states’ “We the People” entries include multiple competing petitions, The Daily Caller determined. California, Georgia, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wisconsin are each represented by at least two petitions. TheDC was able to locate three for Pennsylvania.
The only three states that lack secession petitions are Maine, Vermont and Washington.
According to the White House, petitions have 30 days to gather 25,000 signatures before the administration will automatically review them. One at least one occasion, however, President Obama responded to a petition that collected only 12,240 signatures: a request for the White House’s beer recipe.

Perhaps I have misread the preamble of the Constitution of the United States of America that seems, at least to this one, to be saying that when a people see and understand themselves to no longer being represented by their government so as to being oppressed by the same it is their moral right and obligation, a duty to break way from the same so as to form a new government that does represent the people and grants them life, liberty and the opportunity to pursue their own happiness with the responsiblities of said rights and liberties in regards to all other citizens.
Such represents self determination and in the eyes of a vast minority that is nearly a majority, the people are calling for the breaking of the bonds that once held this nation as a united republic.
White House: Texas must remain part of the US

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Bad news for thousands of people who wanted to see Texas secede: The state is still in the U.S.
The White House has responded to a petition asking that Texas be allowed to break away from the country, saying the Founding Fathers who created the nation "did not provide a right to walk away from it."
More than 125,000 people signed the petition, which was created a few days after President Barack Obama won re-election. The White House has promised to respond to any petition that gets more than 25,000 signatures within 30 days.
Jon Carson, director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, issued a response quoting Abraham Lincoln's first inaugural address and a Supreme Court opinion after the Civil War. It said America was created as a "perpetual union," but one that allows people with different beliefs to debate the issues.
"Democracy can be noisy and controversial," Carson said. "Free and open debate is what makes this country work. ... But as much as we value a healthy debate, we don't let that debate tear us apart."
The petition was created by Micah Hurd, a Texas National Guardsman and an engineering student at the University of Texas in Arlington. He couldn't be reached for comment Monday.
In asking that Texas be allowed to leave the country, the petition cited the "economic difficulties stemming from the federal government's neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending." It argued that given the size of Texas' economy and because the state has a balanced budget, it would be "practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union."
The petition also said the federal government didn't share the same values held by the Founding Fathers.
But Carson argued that the writers of the U.S. Constitution addressed the need for policy change through elections, not secession.
The petition's success brought overnight fame for Hurd, though briefly got him in trouble. In December, a regiment commander at the Texas National Guard sent an email to his subordinates, including Hurd, saying "any mention of secession better happen on a civilian venue."
"It's only talk, and rather ignorant talk at that," the commander wrote. "If you've already done something to call attention to yourself or our regiment in this matter, make it go away."
But a few days later, a National Guard spokeswoman said Hurd had done nothing wrong and that "the email asking him not to talk about it" shouldn't have been sent.
A telephone listing for Hurd couldn't be found Monday by The Associated Press. His father, who has spoken on behalf of his son in the past, didn't immediately return a phone message.

January 28 2010.
My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don’t believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.
I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos’n Mate. Now I live in a “rest home” located on the western end of Pearl Harbor , allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.
One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.
So here goes.
I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.
I can’t figure out what country you are the president of.
You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

” America is arrogant”
– (Your wife even announced to the world,” America is mean-spirited. ” Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our
war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I don’t think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.
Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.
Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don’t, I’ll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue . You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.
And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don’t want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts , who was putting up a fight? One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you’re the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you’re not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you’re thinking of.
You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president. You’re not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. His Terms Are Always Hostile Ones No one has good faith but Obama.
Doesn't this get boring, even to him?
Presidential inaugurations are rare and notable events, coming only once every four years since April 30, 1789, when George Washington raised his right hand and took the oath on the second-floor balcony of New York's Federal Hall.
It's a big day with all its pomp and ceremony, and among its purposes is this: to encourage all who watch to let go, for a moment, of the ups and downs of the political day-to-day and think, for a moment, about the longer arc of our history. A president's inaugural address is a chance to go big and be big—to be thematic and not programmatic, to declare the meaning, as he sees it, of his leadership, to speak of where America is and ought to be. The whole day, from breakfasts to balls, is meant to be, insofar as possible within the confines of human nature, one of democratic fellowship and good feeling.
A president approaching that day will necessarily be, in his spirit, benign, embracing—unifying.
So here is what is utterly remarkable: President Obama has been using the days and weeks leading up to his inauguration to show the depth of his disdain for the leaders of the other major party and, by inference, that party's voters, which is to say more or less half the country. He has been spending his time alienating instead of summoning. It has left the political air more sour and estranged.
As a presidential style this is something strange and new. That has to be said again: It is new, and does not augur well.
What was remarkable about the president's news conference Monday is that he didn't seem to think he had to mask his partisan rancor or be large-spirited. He bristled with unashamed hostility for Republicans on the Hill. They are holding the economy "ransom," they are using the threat of "crashing the American economy" as "leverage," some are "absolutist" while others are "consumed with partisan brinkmanship." They are holding "a gun at the head of the American people." And what is "motivating and propelling" them is not a desire for debt reduction, as they claim. They are "suspicious about government's commitment . . . to make sure that seniors have decent health care as they get older. They have suspicions about Social Security. They have suspicions about whether government should make sure that kids in poverty are getting enough to eat, or whether we should be spending money on medical research."
And yet, "when I'm over here at the congressional picnic and folks are coming up and taking pictures with their family, I promise you, Michelle and I are very nice to them."
You're nice to them? To people who'd take food from the mouths of babes?
Then, grimly: "But it doesn't prevent them from going onto the floor of the House and blasting me for being a big-spending socialist." Conservative media outlets "demonize" the president, he complained, and so Republican legislators fear standing near him.
If Richard Nixon talked like that, they'd have called him paranoid and self-pitying. Oh wait . . .
Throughout the press conference the president demanded—they'd "better choose quickly"—that Republicans extend the debt ceiling. Pressed by reporters on whether he would negotiate with them to win this outcome, he made it clear he would not. He would have "a conversation." Bloomberg's Julianna Goldman asked: "So you technically will negotiate?"
"No, Julianna," he answered. "Either Congress pays its bills or it doesn't."
There was a logical inconsistency to his argument. A government shutdown would be so disastrous to the economy that he won't negotiate with Republicans if that's what it takes to avert it.
This, he said, is what will happen if the debt ceiling is not extended: "Social Security checks and veteran's benefits will be delayed. We might not be able to pay our troops, or honor our contracts with small businesses. Food inspectors, air-traffic controllers, specialists who track down loose nuclear material wouldn't get their paychecks."
Why talk to Republicans when the stakes are so high? They must be the kind of people who like to see planes crash and bombs go off.
Two days later, unveiling his gun-control plan at a White House event, it wasn't only Republicans in Congress who lie: "There will be pundits and politicians and special-interest lobbyists publicly warning of a tyrannical all-out assault on liberty, not because that's true but because they want to gin up fear or higher ratings or revenue for themselves. And behind the scenes, they'll do everything they can to block any common-sense reform and make sure nothing changes whatsoever."
No one has good faith but him. No one is sincere but him. Doesn't this get boring, even to him?
The president was criticized for surrounding himself with children during the event, but politicians use props and the props are usually people. Was it out of bounds that he used kids? No. Was it classy? No. But classiness doesn't seem to be much on his mind. Perhaps his staffers were thinking less about gun control than warming up his image—"Julia, I will try very hard"—and trying to get people to think of him, after four years, and with his graying hair, as Papa Obama, instead of Irritating Older Brother Who Got 750 On His SATs And Thinks He's Einstein Obama. Which is sort of how half the country sees him.
His gun-control recommendations themselves seemed, on balance, reasonable and moderate. I don't remember that the Second Amendment died when Bill Clinton banned assault rifles; it seemed to thrive, and good, too. That ban shouldn't have been allowed to expire in 2004.
What was offensive about the president's recommendations is what they excluded. He had nothing to say about America's culture of violence—its movies, TV shows and videogames. Excuse me, there will be a study of videogames; they are going to do "research" on whether seeing 10,000 heads explode on video screens every day might lead unstable young men to think about making heads explode. You'll need a real genius to figure that out.
The president at one point asked congressmen in traditionally gun-supporting districts to take a chance, do the right thing and support some limits. But when it comes to challenging Hollywood—where he traditionally gets support, and from which he has taken great amounts of money for past campaigns and no doubt will for future libraries—he doesn't seem to think he has to do the right thing. He doesn't even have to talk about it. It wouldn't be good to have Steven Spielberg or Quentin Tarantino running around shouting "First Amendment, slippery slope!" or have various powerful and admired actors worrying their brows, to the extent their brows can be worried.
On cultural issues, this Democratic president could have done a Nixon to China—the bold move that only he could make without inspiring fierce dissent, the move that could break through.
Instead he did a Nixon to the Orange County GOP.
Maybe the president doesn't operate with as much good faith as he thinks, and maybe the other side isn't as bad as he pretends. As I watched his news conference and his gun-control remarks, I thought, for the first time in a while, that the Republicans are finally getting a break.
He is overplaying his hand.
He does that. He's doing it again.

Jim Baker, NRA-ILA's Director of Federal Affairs, represented NRA at the meeting. As detailed in a recent Daily Caller article, Mr. Baker was given five minutes to present NRA's concerns and the approach NRA saw as being the most effective way to safeguard our children. During those five minutes, Baker mentioned the need to vigorously prosecute existing gun laws. He further noted the low number of prosecutions for falsifying information on Form 4473s, and the low felony prosecution rate for gun crimes in general.
In response to Mr. Baker's comments, Vice-President Biden said, "And to your point, Mr. Baker, regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don't have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box, that answers a question inaccurately."
That's right: Biden said the administration just doesn't have time to prosecute crimes (felonies punishable by up to a 10-year prison sentence) under existing laws, but is proposing a host of sweeping new laws.

Obama & Co. want more laws, when they won't and don't enforce the current laws.

President Obama started a new Bureaucracy called the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). It already has over 950 employees, 60% of which make $100,000 a year. That is $57,000,000 in salary alone for a little more than half of its employees.
What do they do?
Payday Lenders lend money at 15% per 14-day period and tell their clients that the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) on those loans is 391.07%. That is a violation of the Federal Truth in Lending Act. 15% per 14-day period and 391.07% per annum are two DIFFERENT growth rates. Which one is applicable?
If anybody can show me how something, a payday loan or a kumquat, can grow at 15% per 14-day period and simultaneously at 391.07% per annum, I will give that person $50,000.

ice President Biden, Mr. Chief Justice, Members of the United States Congress, distinguished guests and all you other people choking on my inauguration:
Each time we gather to immortalize and deify me we bear witness to the shredding of our Constitution. We subvert the promise of democracy. We recall what binds this nation together is not the fact I’m confused in my birthright but that I’m confusing you as to yours. What will make us exceptional as Americans – is your allegiance to any cockamamie idea I declare has merit.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Today we continue a never-ending journey, to twist the meaning of those words with the realities of my ideological agenda. History tells us while these truths may be self-evident, they have never been self-executing; that while freedom is a gift from God, it can be wrested from people here on Earth. The patriots of 1776 did not fight to replace the tyranny of a king, they set in motion the chance a poor intellectually challenged person such as I could lie, cheat and bamboozle my way to the highest elected office in the land. They gave to us a Republic, a government of, and by, and for the people originally, but steadily being subverted by yahoos like me.
Through blood drawn by lash and blood drawn by well-chosen words, we learned no union founded on the principles of liberty and equality could survive under my influence.
Together, we determined a modern economy requires railroads and highways to speed travel and commerce must be regulated to death by government; schools and colleges should be fiscally out of reach of the common workers.
Together, we discovered a free market dies when there are rules to ensure competition and fair play are legislated and enforced by fascist governmental agencies. But, enough about the IRS. Together, we resolved that a great nation must care for the vulnerable, and protect its people from themselves.
We relinquished our skepticism of central authority, we succumbed to the fiction that all society’s ills can be cured through government alone. Our celebration of initiative and enterprise; our insistence on hard work and personal responsibility, have been replaced by never-ending unemployment numbers above 7.8%; and rewarding any and all willing to milk the system dry.
We’ve always understood with time we can force fundamental changes. Fidelity to Marx’s principles requires hackneyed responses to new challenges. Ultimately collective action is required to displace individual freedoms. The American people can no more meet the demands of today’s world by acting alone than American soldiers could have met the forces of fascism or communism with muskets and militias; though we will test this theory with across the board Defense cuts. Now, more than ever, we must do these things together, as one Progressive Socialist nation, and one Marxist people.
Americans are tested by crises stealing our resolve and taxing our resilience. America’s possibilities are being limited for we possess all the qualities that this world without boundaries demands and we should supply them with: youth, drive, diversity, openness and endless risk-taking with American’s taxes.
We understand our country cannot succeed when we remove a few people’s shrinking profits and give those profits to a growing many barely make it. We believe America’s prosperity must be wrest from the broad shoulders of a rising middle class. We know America thrives when every person sacrifices their independence and pride in their work; when increasing taxes on honest labor crowd families past the brink of hardship. We’re true to our creed when a little girl knows that if she’s not been aborted, she has the same chance to succeed as anybody else as long as she keeps dodging bullets in her gun-controlled neighborhood.
We understand outworn programs are inadequate to the needs of our time. We must remake our government, ignore an over-bearing, indecipherable tax code, demolish more reform schools, and empower citizens with the skills in completing welfare and food stamp paperwork already harder to complete than it need be. The middle class must work harder, pay more, and pray to their higher power ‘cause help ain’t coming from the Left. While the means will change, our Socialist dream endures: a nation rewarding the indifference to personal effort and determination of every single American. That’s what this moment requires. That’s what will give real meaning to my creed.
We, the people, still believe every citizen deserves to feel insecure and undignified. We must suffer the hard choices to reduce health care and the increase the size of our deficit. We reject that Americans must care for the generation built this country. We must invest in the generation that will build our Corporatist future. We remember the lessons of our past, when twilight years were spent in poverty, and parents of a child with a disability had nowhere to turn. We endorse this. We believe in this country, freedom is reserved for the lucky, or happiness for the few seeing it my way. We recognize that no matter how responsibly we live our lives, any one of us, at any time, may face a job loss, or a sudden illness, or a home swept away in a terrible storm. We recognize government will promise much and deliver little in their times of jeopardy. The commitments we make to each other – through Medicare, and Medicaid, and Social Security – these things don’t sap our initiative; but ignoring them strengthens me and my people. They make us a nation of takers; they free us to take the risks that make this country great like: Solyndra, Evergreen Solar and Johnson Controls.
We believe that our obligations are just to ourselves, and not your posterity. We will respond to the threat of climate change, because Al Gore says he needs more money. His hot air can cause the devastating impact of raging fires, and crippling drought, and more powerful storms. The path towards sustainable energy sources will be long and difficult. But Americans who resist this transition will be vilified and demonized. We cannot cede the technology that will power new jobs and new industries – we must promote outsourcing as much as possible. That’s how we’ll promote economic sterility.
We still believe enduring security and lasting peace don’t require warriors. Our brave men and women in uniform know too well the price that’s paid for liberty. The knowledge of their sacrifice will keep us forever vigilant against those who would arm them properly. We’re heirs to those who won the peace and not the war against internal enemies of that outdated and flawed Constitution some still hold dear.
We will defend our people somehow after using the rule of law to disarm our citizens. We’ll show the courage to resolve our differences with other nations peacefully – not because we’re naïve about the dangers we face, (we are) but because we fear we’ll be thought badly of. America will renew those institutions that extend our capacity to mismanage crisis abroad. We’ll support democracy from Asia to Africa; from the Americas to the Middle East, unless it runs contrary to Sharia Law. Our interests and our conscience compel us to act on behalf of those who long for freedom by not interfering in those countries’ internal affairs. And we must be a source of hope to the poor, the sick, the marginalized, the victims of prejudice – not out of mere charity, but because it makes my administration look good.
We, declare today that the most evident of truths – that all of us politicians are created equal – is the star guiding politicians still.

It’s now our generation’s task to carry on what those Marxist pioneers began. Our journey is not complete until our wives, our mothers, and daughters can earn as little as men do. Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are abused like everyone else under the law. Our journey is not complete until no citizen, no matter what country they are a citizen of, is forced to wait for hours to exercise the right to vote in America. Our journey is not complete until we find a better way to welcome and grant unlimited amnesty and access to Democratic Party Voter Rolls, the striving, hopeful immigrants who still see America as a land of opportunity; until undocumented, bright young students and engineers are enlisted in our workforce displacing native born citizens of a chance to get a slice of the pie I’m giving illegal immigrants, rather than expelling them from our country.
That’s our generation’s task – to make these words, these rights, these values – of Life, and Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness – real for every undocumented alien to enter America. Being true to our founding documents does not require us to agree on every contour of life; we’ve proven we can bypass anything by Executive Order; it mean we’ll all define liberty in exactly the same revisionist and revolutionary way. Progress doesn’t compel us to settle centuries-long debates about the role of government for all time – but it does require us to act in our self-interest at all times.
We cannot mistake governmental absolutism for principle, or substitute spectacle for politics, or treat name-calling as reasoned debate. We must act as I alone command, knowing that our work and I will be perfect. We must act, knowing today’s victories will be up to those who stand here in four years, and forty years, and four hundred years hence to advance the timeless spirit once conferred to us in a spare Philadelphia hall and in the European Parlors Marx and Engels prognosticated, bloviated and pontificated within.
My fellow Americans, the oath I have sworn before you today, like the one recited by others who serve in this Capitol, was an oath to party, faction and empty ideology– and we must faithfully execute that pledge during the duration of our service. The words I spoke today are so different from the oath taken each time a soldier signs up for duty. My oath is so different from the pledge we all make to the flag that waves above and that fills our hearts with pride.
They are the words represent my greatest hope. I have the power to set this country’s course.
I have the obligation to shape the debates of our time – not with the votes you cast, but with the voices we lift in controversy to our most ancient values and enduring ideals. Let each of us now embrace, with solemn duty and awesome joy, what is our lasting birthright. With common effort and common purpose, with passion and dedication, let us deny the call of history, and carry into an uncertain future my precious hope for the Unified Socialist States of America.

Two lines that sum up Obama’s presidency

President Obama’s Second Inaugural Address was devoid of memorable lines, but for me, two of them jumped out: “We must make the hard choices to reduce the cost of health care and the size of our deficit. But we reject the belief that America must choose between caring for the generation that built this country and investing in the generation that will build its future.”
Throughout his presidency, Obama has rhetorically wanted to establish himself as a transformational leader who was willing to tackle the nation’s tough problems, but when push came to shove, he has dodged them. This has been especially true than when it comes to dealing with the nation’s debt burden.
In his first inaugural speech four years ago, Obama condemned “our collective failure to make hard choices…” On February 23, 2009, just days after passing his $800 billion economic stimulus law, Obama hosted a “fiscal responsibility summit” at the White House in which he pledged, “to cut the deficit we inherited by half by the end of my first term in office.” He said, “this will not be easy. It will require us to make difficult decisions and face challenges we’ve long neglected. But I refuse to leave our children with a debt that they cannot repay, and that means taken responsibility right now, in this administration, for getting our spending under control.” He also emphasized, “In the coming years, we’ll be forced to make more tough choices, and do much more to address our long-term challenges.”
Yet the reality was much different. During his first term, Obama did little to restrain spending or make any sort of “tough choices” on deficits. His health care law did raise taxes and cut Medicare, but to finance a new entitlement slated to cost $1.7 trillion over the next decade. In 2010, Obama appointed a deficit reduction commission that was touted as a step toward dealing with the long-term debt problem, but in reality was merely a way of deflecting questions about deficits. For instance, at a July 2010 press availability, Obama declared, “We have put forward a fiscal commission that is then going to examine how do we deal with these broader structural deficits. So this isn’t just an empty promise. We’ve already started taking steps to deal with it, and we’re going to be very aggressive in how we deal with it.” Yet when the commission delivered its recommendations at the end of the year, Obama took the “aggressive” step of ignoring them. The only actual spending cuts Obama did agree to in his first term were in response to so-called Republican hostage-taking, but even then, he declined to address the long-term challenge of reforming the nation’s broken entitlement system and attacked Republican proposals that did so.
The end result is that when Obama first took the oath of office, the nation’s total outstanding debt was $10.6 trillion. When he was sworn in Monday, it stood at $16.4 trillion – and the Congressional Budget Office sees additional deficits ranging from $6.9 trillion to $9.2 trillion over the next decade, depending on the baseline used. Obama didn’t come close to meeting his pledge to cut annual deficits in half by the end of his first term and still hasn’t offered a plan to reform the nation’s broken entitlement system. He has talked of making “modest adjustments” to entitlement programs while raising taxes only on the very rich, when any serious budget analysis shows that getting the debt under control will require either massive cuts to entitlement spending, huge tax increases on the middle class, or some combination of both.
This brings us to the two lines in Monday’s speech. He declared that, “We must make the hard choices to reduce the cost of health care and the size of our deficit.” This is Barack Obama, bold leader speaking (with an extra twist of irony given that the signature legislative accomplishment of his first term was supposedly aimed at containing the growth of health care costs). Then, he said, “But we reject the belief that America must choose between caring for the generation that built this country and investing in the generation that will build its future.” Translation: he isn’t going to do anything to seriously reform Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid, and wants more economic stimulus spending, too. So, within a breath of calling for hard choices, he rejected the need for them. I can think of no more fitting summation of Obama’s presidency.

Obama’s First Four Years – A Retrospective

I did not vote for Barack Obama in his first presidential election. To my somewhat devious mind anyone that says that he wants to basically change America, a country that most of us love, without giving details of how and why, scares the living bleep out of me. Unfortunately there were many people that thought that a fine plan.
The Republicans put up, possibly, the worst candidate they could find. John McCain is a good man and a patriot. He should be honored and respected. But he was not a winnable presidential candidate. Sarah Palin is a great lady and a powerful and competent woman. She would a fine person to have as a friend. But the two, McCain/ Palin, is probably the worst ticket that the Republicans could assemble. With a press corps (for Barack that is pronounced core not corpse) that was dedicated to an Obama win, those two sacrificial lambs had no chance.
That, having been said, when the results came in and it was obvious that Obama won, many were kind of proud of their country. We had taken a bunch of lumps over slavery even though that was long in the past. The Jim Crow laws of the South’s past were very ugly. Also our country took a lot of abuse about racism from European countries that love to hate us and are so ethnocentric something like this would be impossible in their little part of the world. Most wished Mr. Obama well and prayed that he would be a good and fair President of our beloved nation.
Mr. Obama campaigned on being the post racial President. He announced that he was the President for all Americans. He claimed he would bring us all together, bring back jobs, and restore the economy. So, my friends, here we sit, four years later. And isn’t it a mess.
The two big issues were the economy and jobs. His campaign premise was that George Bush had destroyed the economy and that Obama had the knowledge and skill to turn it around. Once elected he forgot about the economy and focused on health care. For two straight years it was all about health care as the economy worsened.
When questioned as to why things were not improving, we were told that the economy was far worse than he had imagined. Now, Obama was a Senator and as President elect, he and his transitional staff were thoroughly briefed by the White House. Any questions they had were answered in full. How could he not have known.??
The next two years were lost in a heightened campaign mode and constant infighting with the House of Representatives. The House, due to their short terms, are considered to be the body closest to the electorate. They are expected to be the primary body of checks and balances to prevent presidential excess. Obama and his minions in the press found that intolerable. So they excoriated the House Republicans because they did not just give the President everything he wished for. Ultimately very little was accomplished by those that were elected.
Those that were appointed, on the other hand, did a lot. All those government agencies produced regulation after regulation. They drained money out of the economy through fines and fees. They caused increased unemployment by shutting down coal mines and the electric generating plants that relied on that coal. They placed oil fields off limits.
Meanwhile, business people that wanted to expand their business and hire more employees sat on their cash and did nothing. They feared the regulators. They feared increased health care costs. They feared tax increases. So business stagnated and continues to stagnate today.
After four years, here we sit. Certainly no better off. Possibly worse off. Still worrying about jobs and the economy. The President has said that he will focus on gun control, climate change, immigration, and painting the Republicans as the enemy rather than the loyal opposition for his second term. Thinking about the last four years, I am not hopeful looking forward to the next four.

Also Peter Schiff of Europacific Capital was fined for hiring too many people.
Who knows how many similar incidents there have been that have not been reported.
Here is a quote from Mr Schiff;
"In my own business, securities regulations have prohibited me from hiring brokers for more than three years. I was even fined fifteen thousand dollar expressly for hiring too many brokers in 2008. In the process I incurred more than $500,000 in legal bills to mitigate a more severe regulatory outcome as a result of hiring too many workers. I have also been prohibited from opening up additional offices. I had a major expansion plan that would have resulted in my creating hundreds of additional jobs. Regulations have forced me to put those jobs on hold."
Does this really sound like an administration that cares about jobs. Just the opposite I believe.

Kimmel’s latest prank involves the second inauguration of President Barack Obama, which happens on Monday. But people’s opinions of it so far regarded the ceremony as “awesome,” “moving” and “you know, part of history.”
But they’re a little early. The second inauguration doesn’t actually happen for a few more days. But we heard Joe Biden cried, it was so momentous.

President Barack Obama will fly over 9 hours tomorrow, round-trip from Washington, D.C. to Las Vegas, Nevada, just to deliver a speech on immigration, according to the president’s White House schedule. With Air Force One estimated to cost $182,000 per hour in flight, Obama’s trip — that is, only his travel to and from Vegas — will cost taxpayers over $1.6 million.
Obama has no other public events scheduled in Las Vegas but his immigration speech.
A round trip, 5,000 mile AF-1 flight burning somewhere in the neighborhood of 25,000 gallons of fuel for one address at a high school will also be the perfect set-up for Obama’s next speech on global warming. Add in motorcade, helicopter, security, teleprompter support staff, etc., and this might amount to over a $2 million speech. That’s enough to pay off Anna Wintour’s boyfriend’s back taxes with some left to spare.
Last October Valerie Jarrett promised that if Obama were re-elected he’d travel the country more, and so far that’s holding true.
Flying in the wake of Air Force One en route to Vegas are a bunch of Big Labor bosses. Union membership is down and this might be just what the Obamacare doctor ordered.

He has to walk a fine line in praising the bill to keep skittish Democrats on board while criticizing the enforcement parts so that skittish Republicans can sell it to their supporters as being “too conservative for Obama.” I think that’s what he’s up to today in Vegas, but you never know with The One. The urge to fatally polarize this issue by attacking Republicans in front of a microphone might simply be too great. A friend in politics e-mailed last night with the subject line “HAHAHAHAHA” linking to this piece, http://www.politico.com/politico44/2013/01/obama-to-offer-more-details-no-bill-155469.html which describes how Obama “does not favor linking legal status to border security,” i.e. that he wants to get work on citizenship for illegals ASAP. My friend’s take: “Obama either wants a bill to fail so that he can continue clubbing Republicans as intransigent, or he can’t help himself effing up the process.” C’mon. Could O really be so stupid as to refuse the GOP’s insane offer to add millions more Democratic voters to the rolls via a path to citizenship? We’re about to find out, my friends.

While some might view Obama’s insertion into the debate as a “poison pill,” my guess is it will benefit Rubio by allowing him to attack Obama — and simultaneously push the senate’s more prudent framework. One possibility is that this could help highlight the conservative principles Rubio has been fighting to include in the deal.
And it couldn’t come at a better time. Rubio is going on Rush Limbaugh today to talk about his plan. Now — thanks to Obama — Rubio will likely spend most of his time talking about the differences between Obama’s amnesty plan and Rubio’s alternate plan (where border security and other conditions must be met prior to citizenship).
Again: Is that O’s whole strategy here, to let Republicans use him as a punching bag in order to make it easier to sell the big legalization effort to skeptical conservatives? Or is he actually trying to sabotage the bill so that he can go on kicking Republicans as obstructionist? One point in favor of the latter theory is that yesterday’s joint presser with McCain, Schumer, Rubio et al. to announce the Senate bill wasn’t originally scheduled for Monday. As of last weekend, per WaPo, they were planning to announce their agreement “as early as next Friday,” February 1. Why’d they move it up to Monday? Amid fierce political debates often marked by partisan rigidity, the president used the National Prayer Breakfast to call for a more humble approach.
“While God may reveal his plan to us in portions, the expanse of his plan is for God and God alone to understand,” Mr. Obama said.
Americans’ task as citizens, Mr. Obama said, “is to spend our days with open hearts and open minds, to seek out the truth that exists in an opposing view, and find the common ground that exist for us to take meaningful action.”
Referring briefly to debates over taxes and debt “less pronounced” than those faced by Lincoln and King, Mr. Obama said, “We must keep that same humility that Dr. King and Lincoln and Washington and all our great leaders understood is at the core of true leadership.”
Mr. Obama’s speech to the bipartisan gathering of political and community leaders at the Washington Hilton was less overtly political than it was last year, toward the beginning of his re-election campaign, when he tied Jesus’s teachings to his call for higher taxes on the wealthy. But in the past – Thursday’s speech was his fifth appearance as president at the breakfast – he has used the gathering more as an opportunity to discuss his faith.
The rarity of such a cordial gathering of members of different parties was noted by the other public officials who spoke. Mr. Obama added, “I do worry sometimes that as soon as we leave the prayer breakfast, everything we’ve been talking about at the prayer breakfast seems to be forgotten.”
He said, “We’d like to think the shelf life wasn’t so short. I go back to the Oval Office and start watching cable news networks, and it’s like we didn’t pray.”

Teh One, that as a matter of practice, misrepresents his opponents’ views, and attributes bad motives to them is bemoaning this practice.
Even more ironic is the last paragraph, where he bemoans the nature of the rhetoric after people leave the prayer breakfast. Teh One went from the prayer breakfast to a Dem policy conference, where presumably they talked about bipartisanship, finding common ground, attributing pure motives to your opponent, and not demagoguing issues.

The U.S. government spent about $2.2 billion last year to provide phones to low-income Americans, but a Wall Street Journal review of the program shows that a large number of those who received the phones haven't proved they are eligible to receive them. The Lifeline program—begun in 1984 to ensure that poor people aren't cut off from jobs, families and emergency services—is funded by charges that appear on the monthly bills of every landline and wireless-phone customer. Payouts under the program have shot up from $819 million in 2008, as more wireless carriers have persuaded regulators to let them offer the service.
Suspecting that many of the new subscribers were ineligible, the Federal Communications Commission tightened the rules last year and required carriers to verify that existing subscribers were eligible. The agency estimated 15% of users would be weeded out, but far more were dropped. A review of five top recipients of Lifeline support conducted by the FCC for the Journal showed that 41% of their more than six million subscribers either couldn't demonstrate their eligibility or didn't respond to requests for certification.
The carriers—AT&T T +1.08%Inc.; Telrite Corp.; Tag Mobile USA; Verizon Communications VZ +0.29%Inc.; and the Virgin Mobile USA unit of Sprint Nextel S +1.90%Corp.—accounted for 34% of total Lifeline subscribers last May. Two of the other largest providers, TracFone Wireless Inc. and Nexus Communications Inc., asked the FCC to keep their counts confidential. Results for the full program weren't available.
The program is open to people who meet federal poverty guidelines or are on food stamps, Medicaid or other assistance programs, and only one Lifeline subscriber is allowed per household. The program, which is administered by the nonprofit Universal Service Administrative Co., has grown rapidly as wireless carriers persuaded regulators to let people use the program for cellphone service. It pays carriers $9.25 a customer per month toward free or discounted wireless service.
Americans pay an average of $2.50 a month per household to fund a number of subsidized communications programs, including Lifeline.
For the carriers, the program is a chance for them to sign up more subscribers and make a small profit, plus more money if customers go over their small initial allotment and need to buy more minutes or text messages. Carriers can set prices for their Lifeline subscribers as the companies wish.
Until last year, FCC rules didn't require carriers to certify to the FCC that subscribers were eligible. Consumers could self-certify, and in many states documentation wasn't required.
Carriers said many of the disqualified subscribers simply didn't reply when asked to prove their eligibility. They also said the FCC rules on self-certification, and the absence of a national database of participants, made it hard to keep ineligible people from signing up.
The FCC said it is investigating allegations that some Lifeline providers violated the rules, though it declined to comment on that probe. Carriers that don't properly confirm eligibility can be fined up to $150,000 for each violation for each day of a continuing violation, up to a maximum of $1.5 million. In egregious cases, a carrier could lose its ability to participate in the program.
Telrite said it confirms Lifeline eligibility but said it had been difficult to verify the one-phone-per-household rule.
A Verizon spokesman said the "vast majority" of the subscribers removed from its rolls didn't respond to eligibility checks. While Sprint found that some of its subscribers were no longer eligible, it, too, found that many others didn't respond, a person familiar with the carrier's operations said.
AT&T hadn't detected the ineligible subscribers because customers self-certified under old rules and because some states required the company to provide Lifeline service to people enrolled in certain state assistance programs, according to a person familiar with the company's thinking.
Tag Mobile didn't respond to requests for comment.
TracFone Chief Executive F.J. Pollak declined to say how many customers his company shed. Nexus Communications didn't respond to a request for comment.
Two years ago General Communication Inc. GNCMA -1.22%paid more than $1.5 million to settle allegations that Alaska DigiTel LLC, an Alaskan company it owns, submitted false claims to the FCC for more than four years. General Communication said the alleged misuse occurred before the company took day-to-day control of Alaska DigiTel.
Lifeline users have been a source of subscriber growth in the otherwise saturated U.S. market and helped fuel the expansion of companies like TracFone, now the fifth-largest U.S. wireless carrier.
The FCC until last year allowed consumers to self-certify, without requiring documentation, that they met federal poverty guidelines. Subscribers didn't have to recertify once they were enrolled in the program, and there were few checks on whether households signed up for more than one cellphone.
"The program rules we inherited were designed for the age of the rotary phone and failed to protect the program from abuse," FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said.
The agency pushed through new rules last year, requiring documentation when a Lifeline customer signs up. Consumers also must certify that no one else in their households is using the program. Carriers now have to check a state or federal social-service database to confirm eligibility and must reverify eligibility every year.
Carriers were required by Jan. 31 to report the number of subscribers they had removed from Lifeline as of the end of last year. The data reviewed by The Wall Street Journal came from those reports.
The FCC said new verification procedures saved nearly $214 million last year, and projected total savings over the next three years would reach $2 billion. Disbursements under the program began to drop in the third quarter after 12 consecutive quarters of increases.

President Obama’s accelerating abandonment of principle

How ironic is the recent news that President Obama engages in crony capitalism and that he doesn’t always play by the rules?
Our righteous president has often leveled such charges against America’s corporate leaders, suggesting they skirt the law of the land, and that the playing field is not level for ordinary people. How disappointing then to find a pattern of favoritism and hypocrisy emerging from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
The most recent revelation concerns health insurance exec Sara Horowitz, who recently won a tax-free $340 million federal loan to set up insurance co-ops in three states as part of the ObamaCare program. This, despite the fact that her company, Freelancers Insurance, has earned distinction as the “worst” insurer two years in a row in her home state of New York and that the firm has been pummeled with unusually high consumer complaints.
President Obama's “do what I say not what I do” tendency threatens his credibility.
Why would such a dismal performance find favor with the feds? Maybe because Ms. Horowitz and President Obama go way back – back to before the latter was a player on the national scene. Back to when she and Obama together launched liberal think tank Demos along with George Soros, jointly joined that outfit’s board, and before Obama’s caretakers managed to get the record of that alliance scrubbed from Demos’ website. Ms. Horowitz and Mr. Obama are long-time cronies.
This is perhaps small beans. But it is part of a “do what I say not what I do” tendency on the part of Mr. Obama that threatens his credibility.
Consider the emergence of Organizing for Action (OFA), a super PAC in all but name that will lobby for the president’s agenda using his former campaign staff and monies donated by rich supporters. Some $50 million is expected to be raised by the outfit, which will make it, according to the New York Times, one of the best funded lobbying groups in the country.
Nearly everything about this group, from its staffing by Obama apparatchiks to its tax-exempt status to its solicitation of funds from folks looking to become ambassadors, flies in the face of the president’s former condemnation of such secretive influence-peddlers.
Because the group is being set up as a tax-exempt “social welfare group” it is, as the Times points out, not bound by rules that govern federal campaign limits or that preclude Obama aides from raising money. The paper concludes that the new organization will “self-regulate.” Just like hedge funds.
What does this mean? It means that the White House can solicit large gifts from private individuals and from corporations to help advance Mr. Obama’s priorities, without having to play by campaign finance rules.
Organizing for Action has already spent $500,000 funding rallies in support of gun control efforts and will doubtless bus supporters to applaud future appearances by Mr. Obama when he speaks out in favor of immigration control or climate change. This kind of thing happens in North Korea and Venezuela, where despots hire cheering audiences; I’m not aware that it has happened in the U.S. before.
OFA claims on its website that it will not engage in partisan politics, yet one of its first moves was to launch a costly national ad campaign targeting GOP lawmakers in support of gun control legislation. It is sailing, shall we say, close to the wind. So is President Obama.
The president has been especially critical of corporate fund-raising. Who can forget his unprecedented attack on the Supreme Court for its decision allowing corporate campaign donations in the Citizens United case? Obama 2.0 has no such qualms. Not only were corporations "invited” to fund the second inaugural party, they are also being solicited for OFA.
President Obama has switched ponies not only on financial matters. Contrary to his early criticism of Bush 43’s alleged power grabs in the name of anti-terrorism, Obama’s administration has invoked the so-called state secrets privilege to counter lawsuits over warrantless wiretapping – defenses political commentator and former cable news anchor Keith Olbermann called “radical doctrines of executive secrecy which Bush used.”
The president’s use of drones to kill American citizens, and refusal to turn over documents explaining the legal justification for such adventures, also echo Bush policies he once denounced.
While the president appears comfortable with his access to high-tech assassinations, he apparently doubts that successors will use those same powers for the best interests of the nation. It has emerged that in the months leading up to the election, the White House toiled over codifying presidential use of targeted drone killings, just in case he was not reelected.
Campaigner Obama accused President George Bush of exerting excessive authority to wage war; Obama’s refusal to get authorization from Congress to intervene in Libya is thought by many to have been unconstitutional.
In 2007 he also described Bush 43’s use of executive orders as “an unacceptable abuse of power at home.” This from the man who, because he is so inept at negotiating with Republicans and even Democrats in Congress, has spawned an increasing number of executive orders on issues ranging from cyber security to gun control to immigration policy. When Obama promised to “reach across the aisle,” no one expected his reach to extend across both aisles.
Presidents react with frustration to the limits of their power. They also change course once in office. But President Obama’s accelerating abandonment of principle is profound, and keenly disappointing.

There are 300 million people plus in the US. Roughly 65 million people voted for Obama (if you take into account all the deceased people, illegal voters and voting regions that reported a 120%+ voter turnout). 60 million people voted for Romney by comparison. There are roughly 47 million people on welfare. Of that approximately 20% have been on welfare for 5+ years. Additionally almost 27% have been on welfare for 2-5 years (http://www.statisticbrain.com/welfare-statistics/). Meaning that nearly 47% of the people on welfare or 22 million have been on welfare for a vast majority of Obama's administration. Are you starting to do the math? Perpetually unemployed make up statistically 30% of the number of voters for Obama. The average spent on a family of three in 2010 according to the Policy Analysis by CATO (Published April 11, 2012, "The American Welfare State How We Spend Nearly $1 Trillion a Year Fighting Poverty—and Fail" http://www.cato.org/doc-download/sites/cato.org/files/pubs/pdf/PA694.pdf) is over $59,000 a year. So why again would they go get a job? Would it not serve us better to take $59,000 a year and develop a job program that forces them to work as a requirement for benefits? Additionally, who would oppose drug testing for those receiving assistance? Shouldn't there be conditions to a free ride if that is what we are going to provide? Wait, there is more...
Now of the states that reported the largest number by percentage of voters for Obama, do you care to know how many of those states register in the "Top 10 Hourly Wage Equivalent Welfare States in U.S.? All of them... Are you hearing me? ALL OF THEM!
Now lets talk about the disparity between our senior community and the perpetually unemployed. Seniors receive approximately $14,000 average a year in Social Security Benefits. Additionally they receive approximately $15,000 in additional benefits such as Medicare and healthcare. Seniors however pay into the system for 30-40+ years to receive those benefits. So unemployed you receive today over 4 times what someone who worked for 40+ years receives after paying into the system all of their adult lives. Did anyone ask, who is going to pay for those people in 30-40 years when they are still perpetually unemployed?
What is my point? We have abandoned the working people of this country whose backs this country was built on, to cater to a increasingly large number of people who only want a free ride. That is my point. We have allowed our mothers, grandmothers, fathers, grandfathers, to suffer after pouring their soul into the country they now see evaporating into something that is hardly recognizable. The congressmen and women get free pensions, lifelong Cadillac healthcare programs, and countless fringe benefits and all they have to do is win a group of people by promising them free benefits and driving them to fear that a vote against them will trigger a loss of those benefits. Psychology 101... When the fear of personal loss is greater than the perceived benefit of the whole, the fear of personal loss will nearly always prevail. That is why we lost the election...
We are driven in this country by chaos and white noise. We fail to see truth as it should be seen, as truth. We ignore the logical reality to cater to a uneducated and entitled group of people who frankly, want what they want. We have caved and we have compromised. It is those compromises that have compromised the character of our country and until we come to the conclusion that there is no other option other than to fight, we will continue to be helplessly frustrated and angry at the degradation of our society. It will take Americans who value commitment and hard work, with a social conscience that is tempered with accountability, and a willingness and dedication to make sacrifices to see the fight to the end. Many would say that these are harsh words. I would say there is no harsher words that could overshadow the daunting reality we face.
Liberal influences, corrupt judges and politicians, lobbyists and special interest groups have run amuck on the people of this country. They represent the minority (yet the majority of the reason for our woes as a country) and until the majority begins to value their voice and stand together as that majority, the minority will continue to thrive. They have bullied, lied and manipulated the masses to a bitter end. I for one believe that benefits are earned, not given. Sure there are people out there who need help, and to those, we will always offer a charitable hand. What we have today however is not charitable. It is egregious entitlement.
While the working families of this country plow the fields for 80+ hours a week, while raising children and meeting the growing demands of legislation of this country, the government, its leadership and the selfishly entitled stand on the sidelines and bask in the sun, reaping the rewards of our hard work. There is no other reality that I could perceive. There is no other option to that reality other than to come together, set aside our ideological differences and concentrate on the fundamentals. We must fight. And now we must find a way to break the division that the rats have developed between the majority. Personally I think it starts with our Seniors. They must un-retire their wisdom, use the time they have to come together and organize effectively the masses. They represent the best chance for us to win this fight. The question is, can we get them to un-retire their wisdom and lead on the front lines? I think we can, and I think we must.

Once Again, Obama Suggests That Laws Don’t Apply to Him

President Obama has grown fond of saying that he’s “not a dictator,” “not a king,” and “not the emperor,” but is instead “the president.” Whether his tendency to clarify a seemingly obvious point reveals his inner desires or not, his actions in a variety of ways suggest that he doesn’t think the president shares his fellow citizens’ ongoing obligation to obey the law. To the contrary, he seems to view the president as being somewhat above the law.
The latest example involves Obama’s legal obligation to submit a budget by the first Monday in February. We’ve now passed the first Monday in March, yet there’s no indication that Obama intends to submit a budget anytime soon.
According to the House Budget Committee, in the 88 years from 1921 through 2008 (the year that President George W. Bush submitted his final budget), the president was a full week late submitting his budget only four times. Obama has now single-handedly matched that mark. In fact, Obama now holds the modern (1921-onward) presidential records for most times being a week late in submitting a budget (4, shattering the previous record of 1), most times being a month late in submitting a budget (2, breaking the previous record of 1), and most times being three months late in submitting a budget (1, breaking the previous record of 0).
Overall, Obama’s on-time rate in submitting a budget is 20 percent. In comparison, every other president from Warren G. Harding through George W. Bush had an on-time rate of at least 67 percent. Most had an on-time rate of 100 percent.
Again, this is a legal obligation that Obama is refusing to fulfill. Most Americans can’t get away with refusing to fulfill their legal obligations, or with considering themselves to be above the law. Of course, most Americans also can’t get away with having $7 and spending $11, which is what the federal government has done under Obama.

OK, so basically, the guy chronically incapable of self-restraint when it comes to federal spending is going after people who save money for retirement by imposing a caps on IRAs. His argument will likely be that he’s only going after greedy IRA owners who have too much money anyway.
The question I’d pose to him would be: Between the government and folks with IRAs, who has too much money? But that’s beside the point.
Fact is that all the money in any IRA -- even Mitt Romney’s superstorm IRA -- will be taxed at some point or another. The whole IRA scheme is a way for the government to ensure that old folks pay a steady stream of income taxes to the government.
After all, the money in an IRA is not “tax-preferred,” as the White House asserts.
No surprise there that they got that wrong. These guys aren’t CPAs. They don’t even know how to do their own taxes right.
Money in an IRA is rather “tax-deferred,” meaning the government is going to get their money one way or another -- it’s just going to take a while.
In the end, in fact, the government will get more taxes, if they could only wait.
Because the government actually requires IRA owners to spend down every single penny in an IRA. And when they spend it, taxes follow. Being a government program, there are already stiff penalties for people who save too much in an IRA. Any money left in a million-dollar IRA is subject to immediate income tax, plus penalty, plus the death tax.
The taxable rate on an IRA of this size can easily approach 90 percent. Those are tax rates that we can only find in the wet dreams of French President Francois Hollande.
And it’s that 90 percent tax rate that is the “loophole,” or “tax-preferred,” treatment Obama aims to get rid of.

Why? Because Obama wants the money now, not when the person retires. Obama really is so full of cr*p, I am truly sick and tired of him. I really can't stand him. If I hear his voice on the radio, I turn it off. If he comes on TV I change the channel. He has no credibility with me. It's not just the money. IRA's represent independence from the government. That is intolerable to a statist like Obama. All must be dependent on government all of the time, so flashes of independence such as IRA's must be snuffed out. My wife watched in amazement as one inheritance showed up, and then disappeared in the blink of an eye. Seems another relative, a liberal "helper", showed up near the end of life and had two big cash accounts transferred into his name - to make it "easier" to distribute.
And he did just that. He distributed his brother's life savings to himself, saying later, "you people would have just wasted the money anyways".

The Obama government has shoveled a trillion-plus freshly printed dollars into the economy. When the smoke clears, I'm pretty sure we'll find that the money did not go to Average Joe. It went to rich people.
Most rich people are wealthy with money that they or their family earned, making society richer at the same time. The same cannot be said for people made rich by being well-connected to the government.

What started out as an effort by President Reagan to help poor people in rural areas have a phone in cases of emergency has mushroomed into what critics suspect is a new welfare program.
"The cost has gone from $143 million a few years ago to $2.2 billion today," Republican Louisiana Sen. David Vitter said, noting that today's cost is 15 times what it was.
The cost of the program increased dramatically after cellphones were added in 2008. Only low-income people on welfare and food stamps legally qualify, but some lawmakers say the program is out of control.
Sen. Claire McCaskill, a Democrat from Missouri, was incensed when she got an offer of a free phone.
"I got solicitation for a free phone at my apartment, which is certainly not a building where you're going to have people who are qualified for free phones. ... There is clearly money being wasted here."
And Vitter adds, "The FCC, itself, said in a recent year there were 270,000 beneficiaries that had more than one of these subsidized cellphones. That's completely against the law right there."
Funded by a small tax on all phone bills, the program has exploded -- with companies advertising free phones and offering 250 minutes.
Harold Feld of a group called Public Knowledge notes, "you have a lot of these prepaid-phone, no-contract options that are obviously very popular."
The FCC told lawmakers the top five companies can't verify the eligibility of 41 percent of those who get phones.
"I hear from law enforcement that these phones are often found at crime scenes and are used in drug deals," Republican Rep. Tim Griffin of Arkansas said. "Why? It's because you can't trace them."
"Just handing out phones willy nilly and allowing them to be sold on the black market," Sen. McCaskill said. "This isn't the way to do it, and we need to stop."
Some recipients famously called them "Obama phones," with one boasting to the media during the election that minorities should support the president precisely because he gave them free cellphones.
That is not true, and many are appalled by the abuse in the program. One supporter, however, argues cellphones are helpful because they're not just for emergencies:
"It's how we find jobs, it's how we now participate in all the activities in the economy," Feld said.
But McCaskill says those looking for work could simply check out a phone from the unemployment office or a shelter.
With so much abuse in the current program, she is now concerned about some new proposals: "What's really worrisome to me is now the FCC wants to expand to this program into broadband. That's a very bad idea, I think."
She says such a waste of money makes taxpayers think government just isn't paying attention. And she says the current program is so far out of control, we should simply scrap it and start over, not expand it.

Ninety days of destruction from the Obama White House

The economic news in America has gone from bad to worse.
First, we found out the jobs numbers are collapsing. Then retail sales figures were released- they show across the board contraction.
Next, we found out U.S. business inventory figures were a disappointment.
Finally, consumer confidence not only collapsed, but it was the largest miss from expectations in U.S. economic history. 2 words explain it all: "Ninety days."
Creating jobs in Obama's America is like trying to grow healthy plants in a nuclear blast zone.
Ninety days is all it took to put the U.S. economy into a coma, to destroy any chance of recovery. 90 days defined by the Obama "Axis of Evil” -- Taxation, regulation, unionization, litigation, IRS intimidation, demonization, and government strangulation. The last 90 days of this Axis of Evil have sealed our fate.
There are no new jobs. There will be no new jobs. Creating jobs in Obama's America is like trying to grow healthy plants in a nuclear blast zone. Obama has turned the U.S. economy into a “Hostile Work Environment.” I call it Obamageddon.
Look at the toxic results of what has happened in the last deadly 90 days. Last month we added a miserable 88,000 jobs. 660,000 Americans dropped off the job rolls...in one month.
Ninety million working-age, able-bodied Americans are no longer in the workforce. The workforce participation rate is the lowest since 1979. For men it’s the lowest since 1948 (when record keeping began). Disposable income in January was the lowest since 1959 (since record-keeping began). Under Obama we’re truly back to the future.
Twenty-percent of eligible adults are on food stamps. Fourteen million on disability. Record-setting numbers of Americans are breaking into their own retirement accounts just to survive. Student loan debt is a disaster -- with defaults up 36% from a year ago. 16.4 million Americans live in poverty…in the suburbs.
You’re on your own as the American economy descends into darkness, overwhelmed by debt and entitlements.
Obama and the mainstream media have been blowing smoke for months, but the gig is up. No recovery is coming.
Let’s take a look at what Obama did to “save us” in the past 90 days:
- Federal income taxes went up dramatically on business owners (ie jobs creators).
- Payroll taxes went up.
- Exemptions and deductions were taken away.
- ObamaCare taxes took effect. State and local taxes went up across the USA.
- Gas prices went up drastically -- even as we learned Obama’s EPA wants new gas taxes.
- Grocery prices soared.
- Health insurance soared. For many small businesses we learned it will double next year.
- Electric rates went up -- as we learned that Obama’s EPA doubled biofuel taxes, while also trying to eradicate the coal industry and ban oil drilling.
- IRS audits went up dramatically on business owners (which means higher accountant and legal bills).
Add it up: There’s no money left. Even “the rich” feel poor. The middle class is drowning. Small business is under attack. How can anyone spend if they have no money left after Obama's relentless taxes? Where is the money coming from to start a business?
But it gets even worse. In those same 90 days, the government created 6,118 new rules and regulations. That’s 68 per day.
To produce that many job-killing regulations, Obama must have sweatshops populated with slave labor, whipped and kept in chains, working in shifts 24 hours per day. Obama is literally killing the spirit of business owners and taxpayers.
Obama is like a drug addict with giant bills to pay and no income. He has to find a way to pay for his food stamps, disability and unemployment society.
The bill to keep this Ponzi scheme going gets bigger by the hour. But with 90 million adults no longer working, and everyone who is willing to work being robbed to pay for a nation of deadbeats, who is left to jump-start the economy? Who is left to create jobs? The answer is…clearly…no one.
Even more shocking and depressing are Obama’s priorities. He claims we desperately need to raise all these taxes.
Yet, our president had no problem giving away $250 million to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, $500 million to the Palestinians, $1.5 million in grant money to study why lesbians are fat (I’m not kidding), and billions of dollars in income tax credits to illegal aliens (who never paid income taxes in the first place). And you wonder why people are angry and disillusioned?
This has been 90 days for the history books. Ninety days that have made an economic collapse much more likely than a recovery. Ninety days that has put capitalism and American exceptionalism on life support.
Ninety days of the Obama "Axis of Evil” showcasing what one man, supported by a blind, adoring liberal-biased media, can do to snuff out ambition, drive, work ethic, creativity, inspiration and enthusiasm -- all in the name of equality, fairness and social justice.

There is irony overload in President Obama describing President George W. Bush as “gracious” and “patriotic.”
Obama has been among the most ungracious of successors, rising to power by vilifying Bush 43 and blaming four years of economic failure on his predecessor. He has assiduously refused to acknowledge Bush’s accomplishments (e.g. the troop surge). Dubbing his predecessor as “patriotic” is only a compliment in a political universe in which “Bush lied, people died” is taken as gospel. (Does he imagine there is some doubt as to Bush’s patriotism that requires Obama’s stamp of approval?)
(Read the whole thing.) How many other presidents whined about the problems they “inherited” from their predecessor?
No, Mr. Obama never performed the juvenile stunt depicted in this photoshop. But it does say a lot about liberals who think it funny.

The problem is the photoshop is completely believable. The man who attacked the Supreme Court for a decision he didn’t like while they were seated before him during the SOTU address is a guy who could hold up devil fingers during a photo op. There are many examples of the pettiness of Barack Obama that make this photoshop believable and truly a sad indictment of our current president.

Obama jokes about radical 2nd term changes

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama joked Saturday about his plans for a radical second-term evolution from a "strapping young Muslim Socialist" to retiree golfer, all with a new hairstyle like first lady Michelle's.
Obama used this year's annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner to poke fun at himself and some of his political adversaries, asking if it was still possible to be brought down a peg after 4½ years as commander-in-chief.
Entering to the rap track "All I Do Is Win" by DJ Khaled, Obama joked about how re-election would allow him to unleash a radical agenda. But then he showed a picture of himself golfing on a mock magazine cover of "Senior Leisure."
"I'm not the strapping young Muslim Socialist that I used to be," the president remarked, and then recounted his recent 2-for-22 basketball shooting performance at the White House Easter Egg hunt.
But Obama's most dramatic shift for the next four years appeared to be aesthetic. He presented a montage of shots featuring him with bangs similar to those sometimes sported by his wife.
Obama closed by noting the nation's recent tragedies in Massachusetts and Texas, praising Americans of all stripes from first responders to local journalists for serving the public good.
Saturday night's banquet not far from the White House attracted the usual assortment of stars from Hollywood and beyond. Actors Kevin Spacey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Claire Danes, who play government characters on series, were among the attendees, as was Korean entertainer Psy. Several Cabinet members, governors and members of Congress were present.
And despite coming at a somber time, nearly two weeks after the deadly Boston Marathon bombing and 10 days after a devastating fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas, the president and political allies and rivals alike took the opportunity to enjoy some humor. Late-night talk-show host Conan O'Brien headlined the event.
Some of Obama's jokes came at his Republican rivals' expense. He asked that the GOP's minority outreach begin with him as a "trial run" and said he'd take his recent charm offensive with Republicans on the road, including to a book-burning event with Rep. Michele Bachmann.
Casino magnate Sheldon Adelson would have had better success getting Obama out of office if he simply offered the president $100 million to drop out of last year's race, Obama quipped.
And on the 2016 election, the president noted in self-referential irony that potential Republican candidate Sen. Marco Rubio wasn't qualified because he hasn't even served a full term in the Senate. Obama served less than four years of his six-year Senate term before he was elected president in 2008.
The gala also was an opportunity for six journalists, including Associated Press White House Correspondent Julie Pace, to be honored for their coverage of the presidency and national issues.
The New Yorker's Ryan Lizza won the Aldo Beckman Award, which recognizes excellence in the coverage of the presidency.
Pace won the Merriman Smith Award for a print journalist for coverage on deadline.
ABC's Terry Moran was the winner of the broadcast Merriman Smith Award for deadline reporting.
Reporters Jim Morris, Chris Hamby and Ronnie Greene of the Center for Public Integrity won the Edgar A. Poe Award for coverage of issues of national significance.

Washington never looks more out of touch than it will this weekend, when movie stars, music moguls, media mavens and their advertisers join President Obama at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
It is called the “nerd prom.”
Established decades ago to encourage comity between reporters and The Reported, the dinner has in recent years been overshadowed by star-gazing, extravagant parties and the antics of hired comics. Conan O’Brien entertains the crowd Saturday night.
As we say in Washington, the dinner is “lousy optics” – rarely more so than Saturday night, when the backdrop will be joblessness, a budget deficit, the Boston Marathon bombing and a blood-red line in Syria.
Traditionally, the president addresses the dinner to poke fun at himself and his audience before ending on a sober note. Last year, President Obama closed by praising “a free press that isn’t afraid to ask questions, to examine and to criticize.”

Warner Todd Huston reported at Breitbart Monday that “in some of its reports on Saturday night’s White House Correspondents Dinner (WHCD), the Associated Press failed to include one of President Obama’s own gags.”
Obama said: “These days I look in the mirror and have to admit, I’m not the strapping young Muslim Socialist that I used to be.” But, noted Huston, “in one version of the night’s story (as seen at Huffington Post, Time Magazine, Breitbart Wires, the Ottawa Citizen, and The Columbian to name a few), the AP’s Bradley Klapper forgot one part of the President’s joke,” reporting his words as “I’m not the strapping young Socialist that I used to be,”
Why? Did they think it had too much of a ring of truth?
Why did some editors at AP or at the publications that picked up the AP story think it necessary to run interference for Obama on this point?
By mocking the idea that he is a Muslim (and a Socialist), Obama is trying to render these things too ridiculous for serious public discussion. Fine. His personal beliefs are of no moment, except insofar as they influence his public stances. And the direction of his public policies is obvious. He has maintained a consistent foreign policy line that has enabled the establishment of several Islamic supremacist, pro-Sharia states in North Africa and the Middle East, and a domestic policy that has enabled the advance of the Islamic supremacist agenda to assert the primacy of Islamic law over American law and practice wherever they conflict. No amount of mockery will obscure that.

The rumors of Barack Obama’s first-class temperament were invented out of whole cloth

Remember back in the days when Barack Obama was promising a new kind of politics, that his supporters promised he would, through sheer force of his personality, transform the partisan divides which polarized our discourse and usher in a new age of civility. Only problem Obama didn’t have much of a record acting in the way he had promised to. And four years and three months as president have shown him to be quite the opposite of the transcendent leader he promised to be. He, for example, blames others for his failures, whines about the problems he has to face, and questions the motives of his ideological adversaries.
Nowhere is this more manifest than in his public speeches and press conferences. And he showed his peevish streak in his press conference earlier this week when he refused to take responsibility for his failure to compromise with Congress, responding to a question about his clout with Congress by saying that the questioner seemed “ to suggest that somehow these folks over there have no responsibilities and that my job is to somehow get them to behave. Yea, but, did this guy who wasn’t supposed to transcend political differences and want to break the blame-game that pervades in the nation’s capital reach out to Congress and try to avoid the sequester (which the journalist mentioned in his question)? Couldn’t he, with his “first-class temperament” have managed to prod congressional leaders often at loggerheads to hammer out a compromise.
As James Taranto, in commenting on Tuesday’s press conference his Best of the Web column yesterday, put it:

3.He’s a community agitator, what does anyone expect? His job has always been to stir things up, whip up resentments, and basically create a problem others have to solve. That’s pretty much what he’s done as President. He whips up emotion (say, over the Sandy Hook shootings), then insists Congress fix the problem.
He’s simply unwilling or unable to govern. Rush made the point several times that Obama doesn’t want to be seen as governing, that it allows him to play at being the powerless outsider trying to fix the problem (which he has no intention of doing).
Remember when Obama said change can only come from outside Washington? Why did none of the rumpswab apologists of the media then ask President Historic First why he wanted the office? I mean, if he wanted to affect real change, and it could only come from outside Washington … then again, how dumb am I, expecting anything approaching honesty or integrity from the media (aka the Propoganda arm of the Democratic Party)?
Compromise means everyone walks away with less than they wanted. Can you see the petulant Sun King who said “I won” accepting anything less than total capitulation?
Barack Obama got elected, and re-elected, because the media carried him. They hid his past, outright lied about his opponents, and simply didn’t cover a story if it didn’t suit the narrative. Had Obama suffered even a tenth of the scrutiny and negative press GW Bush or Sarah Palin received, he would never have been elected President.

I’ve always thought that the reason Obama was able to remain calm was that he simply could not understand what was happening, or why it was serious. As I see it, Obama (believing every complimentary word about himself from those throughout his life who feel awfully pleased with themselves having given an ambitious young black person the encouragement borne of soft bigotry) is having difficulty reconciling the roles of executive and agitprop. Since his narrative has been that of the professional outsider, he enjoys the perks of being the ultimate insider while not understanding the role.
Ironically, Reagan ignored and even scorned his handlers and the newsmakers, going directly to the American people and asking them to put pressure on Congress. We now have a community organizer unable to organize; when he cannot let a particularly American moment of tragedy go to waste, he becomes angry — angry that all those seeming kindnesses, all the good grades as a reward for not showing up, all the applause for pretty speeches, all of it wasn’t about himself. It was all symbolism.
Obama’s anger is a frustration that he has reached the point where the people (right, center, and even the left) are not willing to disarm, that efforts to severely limit access to the ability to defend themselves crosses a certain, peculiarly American line — that we didn’t elect him that much. He’s beginning to realize that the magic is gone, that the moment has arrived where the wave of racial equality symbolism cannot last forever, and that he will not get his way. Just as many Republicans thought an Obama defeat imminent considering his record and were in disbelief at the outcome, Obama couldn’t believe that Sandy Hook and his persona were surmountable. And he’s angry.
I wonder what Obama’s legacy will be. For many presidents, it is asked whether they were worthy of the office. For this one, some will ask whether the office was worthy of him.

Truth is, he is just another over rated sub performer with a god complex - he’s little more than a Pop Warner kid who’s been told he’s far more talented than he really is.

David Barack Axlerod Obama pulled off a remarkable coup. They figured out how to blend the political machine with Progressive “reform” while denying association with either machine politics or Progressive statism and socialism.
The political machine harnessed the votes of the lower-class workers. They sought out the poor, the immigrants, the working stiffs and delivered help, service and opportunity. Their contribution to the American lexicon is the “ward heeler” who helped widows, found jobs, twisted arms and generally God-fathered his territory all in exchange for loyalty and votes. Think: community organizer. If you are loyal to the party of the ward heeler, think: hope and change.
Progressives kicked the job of ward heeler in the butt. Progressives demand reform. They want delivery on promises made. There is never an end to reform because even Utopia can be tweaked.
The fact is that machine politics is plantation politics and in many ways the opposite of Progressivism. That is where David Barack Axlerod Obama and John Podesta and Cloward/Piven and The Center for American Progress come in. They have taken the constituency of the machine and the promises of Progressives for structural improvement and blended them together into one huge salmagundi of abstractions such as “hope” and “change.”
Obama can’t deliver. In fact, he doesn’t have anything to deliver. Seriously, what is “gun control.” His adoring fans see it as ending gun violence. Conservatives see it as the door to the police state. Obama obfuscates and reads the teleprompter or just golfs instead of talks.
What did Obama contribute to “Obamacare”? Just vague assurances of what would be protected and what would not happen and how tomorrow would be sunshine and lollipops.
What is the whole reasoning behind immigration “reform”? For the Progressives it is citizenship and bringing people out of hiding and so, forth. For Conservatives it is overwhelming educated voters with a fresh batch of takers who will vote early and often for the party of wealth transfer. What does Obama say? Just about nothing substantive, but everything he can to demonize the Republicans.
By the time David Barack Axlerod Obama’s second term is over, the low information public will be so confused and mismanaged that only a super-strain David Barack Axlerod Obama candidate can propel them to the polls. Obamaphones and SEIU handouts and ACORN-redux will be status quo and the next machine Progressive will have to up the “hope and change” promise to something much more substantial and specific. It will take a national minimum income and paid vacations to feed the bread and circuses crowd.
David Barack Axlerod Obama is a one trick pony. He is term limited. Breaking the “black” glass ceiling was way more dramatic that breaking the “female” glass ceiling. The David Barack Axlerod Obama Presidency leaves a void in terms of how they pulled off their trick.
Jimmuh Cahtah taught us how to “shoot the moon” by taking the primaries. In the game of spades you try to avoid taking a spade or you recklessly attempt to get the whole suit. Cahtah’s strategy was the latter and by the time the party machinery discovered that the peanut was in control of the nomination it was too late.
Who is out there to replace David Barack Axlerod Obama? We ask the same question concerning Ronald Reagan. But in our case, we are looking for a person of deeply held, established principles. In the Demonizingrat’s case, they are looking for someone who can fool a majority of the people a majority of the time.
Obama is an eel. He has never really worked at anything other than messing around with other people’s money and oozing his way to power. After 2016, he, like Bill Clinton, will become enormously wealthy doing nothing and will traipse around the country basking in the light of his own flame.
He has shown us that we do not need a President. He hides from leadership by delivering occasional bromides and permitting the petty meanness of his underlings provide us with warnings concerning a darker future for those who get in the way.
His “temperament” is the ice-cold demeanor of a socio-path. He would throw Michelle under the bus if he found it “necessary” to his further his own advantage.
Too many smart people are still trying to imbue Obama with Presidential qualities as would be fitting of a person who is president of all the people and has the good of the nation at heart. Schemers who rob the bank are not worried about the depositors. They are there simply for the money.

Obama blames everybody during press conference

President Barack Obama spent most of his surprise April 30 press conference on the defensive, blaming the Senate, budget cuts, Republicans, Syria’s dictator and much else for the shaky start to his second term.
He had nothing major or new to announce, and no theme or message to steer media coverage.
About a third of the way through the press conference, Obama responded to a question about his political clout by saying sardonically that “as Mark Twain said, rumors of my demise may be a little exaggerated at this point.”
“In the Senate, this habit of requiring 60 votes for even the most modest piece of legislation has gummed up the works there,” he complained.
“On Syria, I think it’s important to understand that for several years now what we’ve been seeing is a slowly unfolding disaster for the Syrian people … this is not a situation in which we’ve been simply bystanders to what’s been happening,” he argued.
“It is true that the sequester is in place,” he also observed. “It’s damaging our economy. It’s hurting our people,” he said.
The word “economy” came up ten times. However, six of those times concerned Latin American economies. Three other mentions came when he tried to blame United States’ stalled economy on the GOP’s agreement to sign his 2011 proposal for a budget sequester.
The 48-minute press conference ended with the departing president turning back to the podium to congratulate a basketball player for being gay. “We judge people on the basis of their character and their performance,” Obama said. “I’m very proud of him.”

President Obama continues to fail as CEO

COLLEGE PARK, Md., June 12 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama is failing as chief executive officer of the U.S. government.
His appointment of Susan Rice to be his top national security adviser and other missteps, indicate he views the fallout from recent scandals as a political challenge, rather than a management failure.
Nothing could be less true or more damaging.
Revelations about the Internal Revenue Service targeting conservative groups, the U.S. Justice Department broadly searching the email of journalists and recent revelations indicate systemic management dysfunctions, and a culture of contempt for the protections of individual rights and the limits on the executive power required by the U.S. Constitution.
His stockholders -- the American people -- are rapidly losing confidence in his management. In a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll 55 percent of respondents said IRS targeting of conservative groups raised doubts about the broader honesty and integrity of the Obama administration.
Yet, Obama is behaving as if all the turmoil on Capitol Hill and the media come down to Republican gaming in preparation for the 2014 congressional elections.
By appointing Rice, who misled Americans into believing the murder of U.S. diplomats in Benghazi was the result of spontaneous street demonstrations when the State Department simply knew otherwise, as national security adviser. Obama is challenging the GOP to stop him if they can, instead of committing to get to the root of recent scandals and fixing what is broke.
Similarly, the president sent up three very liberal nominations for the pivotal D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, where the constitutionality of many presidential actions is determined. The plan, crafted with Democratic senators, is to force their Republican colleagues into blocking those appointments, make the GOP appear obstructionist and distract attention from all the scandals.
At the heart of Obama's problems is his aloof style, impatience with critiques and disdain for the rules of the game. For example, in a clear disregard for the separation of powers, his administration is training Democratic members of Congress and their staff to help sign up constituents for health insurance under Obamacare.
Wrong on two counts: Signing up Americans is clearly an executive branch responsibility, which should be kept out of the hands of politicians, and it appears Americans who have Democratic representatives are more entitled to government benefits than those who vote Republican.
Similarly, we learn that Assistant Senate Majority Leader Dick Durbin, D-Ill., specifically asked the IRS to investigate conservative groups in 2010, which led to terrible harassment. Yet, the president hasn't encouraged his Democratic colleagues to better discipline their more visceral political instincts.
Over and over again, the president has demonstrated by word and action an attitude of whatever it takes to move forward his progressive agenda. In the federal agencies and on Capitol Hill, this cultivates impatience and disregard for thoughtful people who have honest disagreements with him and their constitutional rights.
Now his second-term agenda is threatened by growing distrust and lack of confidence in the honesty and fundamental integrity of his administration and with more than three years remaining, that is a terribly dangerous brew.
Any good CEO would root out the abuses at the IRS, Justice and elsewhere, put in place reasonable standards of performance and expectations for the use of managerial discretion and establish mechanisms to both evaluate managers' performance and insulate them from inappropriate outside interference -- for the IRS, the likes of Senator Durbin.
To win back the confidence of all Americans, the president must forthrightly take responsibility for government agency missteps and abuses, and explain what he is doing to fix them -- this is no time to lead from behind.
Instead the president continues to treat the multiplying crises and escalating concerns about his leadership as a political game -- this to the great peril of our liberties, security and ultimately the legitimacy of our republic.

Our American president is in love with himself. He has a lot of people feeding on this. They are Democrats, because they have always been that way. The message got lost, and people just continue on down the road, trying to remember why or if they are lost too.
When the president stands at the podium to make a speech, watch how he moves his head, posing, if you will. Then he starts to speak, and you realize he is picking his words, carefully. It is a game, and he figures to be the top player. His smoke and mirrors no longer conceal his missteps to most of us.
Putting pressure on the press, he tries to influence opinion by telling us that what he is doing, is our will. He thinks the press is his, and all he has to say is "boo" and we will all be scared. After picking on the press, he went after the gun people, telling us this is what we want. Then comes the NSA listening in on our calls, or at least recording them all, so they can come back to listen later. He was surprised to learn we object to that as well.
There is the next factor. It is his appointment of people who I think are bad for the job. Besides the lying, Ms. Rice was still picked. Eric Holder is the guy from "Fast and Furious" so I need say no more.
Obama said there were serious Red Lines in Syria. We would do "something" (like intervene) if poison gas was used. It was, but we have done nothing.

We are carrying Obama. As far as can be told, he will doubtless be remembered by history. Not necessarily just for being the first mixed race president. History will catch up with his ego. "Hubris is mine, and it fits" seems to swell his head when he speaks. I know most of his ideas are recycled from other politicians.
The rest of what you are saying, is just so you can read your own words. Democrats vote for their party, and always will. Republicans vote for a person, or an interest, rather than the party itself. That allows us to vote for a Democrat if he is worthy. The difference in attitude is almost too thick to cut with a knife. It is not the Party, stupid, it's the people.
