One of my friends has nude photos on his Facebook page. If I click to report them as being inappropriate, will he know it was me who reported them or is it an anonymous thing? It's my b-i-l who has them on his page, but I don't feel comfortable saying anything to him about them.

Are you close? Honestly I wouldn't say a word to anyone. Family issues are not worth dealing with IMHO. Do children have access to his web page?

Yes, he does have several younger people as his friends. Are we close? Not really, but we do talk when we get together, which isn't often. I do like him and his wife, but they have tons of money and are always going on vacations and bragging about how much fun they had and saying we should go with them the next time. We went with them several years ago and had a blast. But again, we're not close. I don't want him to know it was me if I decide to report the photos.

I wouldn't want to risk them knowing it could even remotely be me but then that is just me.

I wouldn't. I'd would go to my FB page and hide his post. If the photo's really disturb you than I'd unfriend him. It's his business what photo's he decides are appropriate for his webpage. I have no quams about letting anyone know what I think is offensive on the site if they're a friend of mine. Usually I just hide all their post and don't have a problem after that. Good luck..

Unlike MySpace, FB has 'rules' about inappropriate content...and this is definitely inappropriate for FB. That being said, I would just hide his post and let someone else report him.

Go ahead and report them. The person who has them on their page will not know who reported them to FB. I would do it immediately.

Well now you know what your BIL looks like nude...:duck He may be advertising for more action in his marriage since his wife isn't saying anything.

I really don't know what I would do... I'm sure he doesn't have a nude picture as the main photo & a person would need to sift through the pictures to find the nudes. Do whatever you think is right.

VenuStar - That is funny. Some people are over sensitive.

Actually the picture isn't of him, thank goodness! lol The picture itself doesn't bother me, but like I said earlier, he is friends with some younger people and I don't think that it's something they should be seeing. Thanks for the research in finding out if he'd know it was me who reports it.

Maybe it's cause I don't have kids... but I don't know why you really care... if his facebook was the only place on the net to find nude photos then I'd understand, but my underage cousins have informed me of more free porn sites than I even want to know about and the only requirement to get in them is a non verified birthday... believe me, whatever he's got up, they've seen worse.

Well, apparently it is making an adult uncomfortable......FB should be more of a "family" site...unless all your family, friends and acquaintances are also porn stars......JMO

FB is NOT a family site... it was made for college kids... NOT families. And unless it's his status picture, you can't even see it unless you go looking for it so it would seem to me that someone (and I mean anyone (whoever reported Venus, for example), not specifically the OP) could choose not to look.

That's why I put "Family" in quotations and said, "unless all your family, friends and acquaintances are also porn stars". It may have started off for college kids, but many people use it to connect with friends and family, it has morphed from it's original "intent". So if one happens to want to post revealing pictures, they need to make sure that everyone in their "group" (friends & family) are okay with it and that "outsides" do not have direct access (i.e. kids poking around - intentionally or not). The OP is in this "revealing" person's circle and she is not "okay" with it. :shrug

Is it your sisters husband? Your husbands sisters husband? How is this BIL related?

I would just flat out post on there, "Yo Dude WTF is with this picture? Are you trying to tell us something or what?"

I mean, it seems alittle odd to me that a guy would post a pic of another guy naked.

It's dh's brother. They're always going on vacation so he has an album on his FB page that entitled "Why I Vacation" and that's where the photos were. They went to a nude beach and he had those photos there (all of women).

Oh give me a break... if I asked permission of everyone in my list before I posted stuff I'd never get to post anything... someone is ALWAYS going to be offended. You can choose to hide someones posts w/out actually removing them from your friend list... problem solved, you aren't looking! Report them, don't report them... I don't care... but don't try this petty bs w/ me that you always try w/ those you don't care for... it's old. Just put me on ignore already.

This has nothing to do whether I care for you or not. Quite frankly, I don't care or not care for you either way.....I was and usually do....reply to the topic and issue. Too bad you apparently can't and make it a personal issue instead of an opinion/discussion on a topic.

As for ignore buttons, please feel free to use yours.;)

Now addressing the topic.....no where did I mention asking permission of anyone. The OP has a FB account with family members in the loop. If some of the family members have or are children, it's inappropriate to post nude pictures.

Just like if a college kid wants to curse, post personal what-nots or whatever, then make an account with only other kids and not their family members and make it private, many do.

Just curious. Without seeing the pictures (and I'm not asking to see them) are they more like just topless people in the background on the beach or are they full frontals posing, etc? If they are just in the background, it would be a bit more benign. Was he (visibly) nude too?

There are both, but the majority were very posed. He didn't appear in any of the photos since he was the one taking them.

Ok..got it now. I was confused, I though at first they were pics of him naked, then pics of other men naked. :)

Maybe he has his photos blocked to anyone under 18?

If this was at a nude beach, then most people are just standing around or maybe posing with a smile.
At nude beaches, it is just a human body: people are just people.

Nude photos are not necessarily porn or inappropriate. They are just photos of the human body.

He may very well have the album customized - where only certain individuals can view the photo's.
